    70% off Daz Original Bundles

How are there no G9 bundles here? Sigh.

is that still only 70% for Members too?

(or do you get your extra DO discount as well)

wondering if any perk for grabbing a month subscription, so far nothing has tempted me to do that

80% off if you buy a new release over $1. The DO coupon works as well as the tokens, so if you happen to have 8, that's another 45% off DO items.
My problem, I have so much stuff not much on sale interests me, but its a great time to pick up a bunch of G8 and 8.1 stuff.

As a Premier member I am seeing them as 80% off or 87% off with a new release.

Oooh! You get a extra 1%! cheeky I'm seeing 79% DO & 86% with new item on Daz+.

Of course, without a pile of tokens, it's not really enticing me. And as we know, it's a lot easier to get the pile of tokens with Premier and a Monday-Tuesday shopping spree. So... YMMV!

Same for Daz+ - So I got 88% (inc the "New Release" discount - and I might actually use the item! - and the "membership" discount)

Also had a token lying around and used the 6/18 coupon... And I bought on Store-Credit which was 20%-off the other day

Best day of the Members' Summer Sale smiley

It does in fact lack the back octive hole, the holes aren't spaced right (especially that huge gap between the last two!) and the bottom part doesn't twist at all... the lowest hole is right in line with the other ones. One of these days I might kitbash the thing with geometry editor and make it usable, but as it stands, it's only good for shots where you can't actually see most of it.

(EDIT: I just uploaded the render I did with the recorder in it to my gallery... I spent an absurd amount of time trying to get a pose to work and gave up and had her just holding it instead. Maybe she only plays on the bridge/intro/outro on that song? -- Link in sig)

I'm soprano & sopranino mostly; I have small hands, and the alto can be a bit much for me for extended periods. I havent tried a tenor, though I do love the sound when I've heard others play them.

And a +1 to the bagpipes, even though I can't hear them. (We're not going to talk about how many CDs of bagpipe music I own... *whistles innocently*)

@SilverGirl Oh we have more in common! Good luck inproving that soprano model. I MUST get over my reluctance to meddle with meshes. The tenor (25.5" long) is sometimes a stretch for me but the keys help. :D (I attached a picture in case anyone is curious.)

Regarding the bagpipes in One Man Band, I think they'd be best for more historical settings, it's not a modern set. Maybe tartan textures/shaders for cloth and polished wood and ivory for the drones & chanter would help?

BUT! You think that recorder pose was awful? The bagpipe pose is the WORST! The fingering is SO wrong! Unlike most woodwinds, you don't finger with the pads at the tips; you use the middle pads, except for some of the grace note fingerings (bagpipe music is mostly grace notes). My middle & high school bands included pipe & drum corps, so I learned the basics, although piping turned out not to be for me - but I am fond of the music.

I tired to find your bagpipe render but it wasn't there. I did enjoy the other images. Are those adorable pink things drinking from the glasses or just being decorative?

Oh, I don't have a bagpipe render, just the recorder render. And it's a little easy to miss with the angle I have her holding it (necessary to cover for the inaccuracy of the model). It's the one with the blue guy playing guitar. :)

Glad you liked the others, though. The adorable pink things were the April Fool's gift last year... the idea was that they started green, but they changed color once they had some of the drink. I have no idea if that came across visually, but the idea entertained me.

I get the reluctance in playing with meshes... it's definitely intimidating. That and reassigning material zones have been complete lifesavers, though, because so often I only want a part of something (I've been known to delete entire pieces of furniture because all I wanted was a drawer handle).

For the recorder, what I think I'll do is pull it into an empty scene, delete the bottom (turnable) part, and save it as a subscene. Then exit out, pull in a new one, and delete everything except the bottom and make another subscene. Exit out, open both subscenes as a merge, and parent them. Maybe it's easier or more elegant with an import/export into other programs, but I haven't had the mental bandwidth to tackle anything outside Daz yet, and this would make it funcitonal enough for my purposes.

Doesn't fix the spacing issue with those bottom two holes, unfortunately. Might have to shave a bit more of the mesh there, which would make the whole thing just slightly too short, but... well, better than what's going on right now, anyway.

while it's an acquired taste earwise, I don't mind rendering them wink

and can use some variety to go with all those kilts in my library

....hmm, that is the same set I used. I removed the cords as for some reason they distorted in posing (I had to manually pose the instrument and character as the provided poses are only for Hiro 3).

I actually have a copy of TrueSpace 7.1 on a DVD.  May have to install it..

Got it bookmarked so I can download when I am on my computer. And the pose is pretty accurate.

I've noticed that in the fineprint for the Featured Artists section of the sale is now included this: "$1.99 minimum price after discount". I don't know exactly when this note has been added. I just noticed it now. Anyway, I've been buying carts every single day pretty much since this member sale began and I had already observed that this $1.99 minimum price was being applied to that section quite a number of days ago. Back when I first observed it, that term of the sale wasn't specified in the fineprint.

The thing is: in my experience, this "$1.99 minimum price after discount" works like this: no product in the Featured Artists section of the sale can get cheaper than that price point before any kind of extra discounts can kick in, including tokens and coupon codes. What the fineprint does not mention, and it really should, is that there's also an absolute minimum price of $0.99 for any product sold in that section, including normal Daz Originals as well as Daz+ products. In other words, no product in that section will go below the $0.99 price point, no matter what discounts (or how many) are applied.

so buying qa DO from that section will never be free with coupons again.... thus, buy stuff not in that section. DAZ has been toying with that minimum pricing for awhile and appears to be extending it. The Outlet Store can go below those minimums though, but I'm pretty much done in that group of products.

I'm rather disappointed with the "Daz+ for a Day" item today: CHB Gabriel and Sweatsuit Bundle. Not because of the item. But because of this: Get an extra 20% off Cherubit items in Featured Artist Stores

There are 3 items in the featured artist store for Cherubit. Cherubit have 86 assets in the Daz store. But you can get an extra 20% off only 3 of them.

    Disappointing.

To me, it's a rather nice sale today, I've waited until this morning to take advantage of the weekend special promo. With the wishlist discount and the 'normal' summer sale discounts and tokens, prices are really very good. I've also thrown in my last coupon for the month, for good measure.

If there's something in your WL that doesn't seem to be getting any discount, throw it in the cart nevertheless! Whenever I tried this, they all were discounted.

Alas it seems this sale is treating me pretty much like the one last October did. I've tried some cart jenga, but it's just not hitting the right notes with the stuff on my WL. Maybe the Really Final Unless We Extend It Catch-up Sale at month's end (because we all know there'll be one) will do me better... if not, I guess I find a couple things to throw my $6 DO at and hope for better luck with the PA sale in August.

This was almost always a miss for me this weekend. Same issue as with Cherubit today. AcharyaPolina was the Daz+ artist yesterday. I had AP Sculpted Tears in my wishlist. Of the 128 assets AP has in the store, only 15 of them are "featured". And sculted tears wasn't one of the 15. The day before that  3D-GHDesign had 153 in the featured store. But over the weekend, it isn't as many feature items from the recent two artists with the additional 20% off.

What I failed to realize was I should have been putting all the featured items I wanted in my wishlist two days ago so they would already on my wishlist today. :)

Have to admit, after taking a look at the Wishlist Sale on friday I got myself a DAZ+ month and got 8 items off my wishlist and used both coupons for it. If I would have been ready to spend some more money than I am willing to spend for a hobby, it could have been more, but even then the price reduction would have needed to have been even bigger wink

I'm sorry for you, I've had spells like this as well where I'd really want to buy some nice new stuff, and I even had money at the ready, but nothing seemed to work for me and none of my WL came up at a good price. At least you're saving some money, right? - PA sale used to be in September, not August, no? Or did this get changed?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,847

...well, made the last purchase for the month using what very well may be my last Daz+ PA coupon as this was a rough month financially. and my old annual membership poops out in the 5th. of next month. Dumped most of my remaining tokens in as well

Managed to get a few things I wanted off the wishlist beforehand in spite of the slow start to this sale. Fortunately some well timed D+FaD items I actually would use came up granting an extra 40% on the Featured Artists Stores.

May try the month to month membership for a couple months since the price has come down. but need to find a way to restructure the budget before plopping down 70$. for a full year.  It also depends on if G9 makes bigger inroads on Daz+ items and freebies. The selection is already getting somewhat "thin" save for environments, vehicles, and props.

Lifestyles of the poor and forgotten.

  • Only this weekend has some of my wishlist stuff fallen out of New and into the sales. I picked up several wishlist items at 83% off counting tokens and today's D+FAD. The sale this month has been a little thin for me up until that.

I see that there's another bunch of items that just dropped out of New the last day or two so maybe they'll turn up next.

  • WendyLuvsCatzWendyLuvsCatz Posts: 40,049

well I joined DAZ+ and spent a fair bit halving my wishlist and used both my coupons on top of that

maybe not the savings some are getting but still 86% off at least, 90+ with coupons

Aussie dollar bad though so still a lot of money but should give me lots of new content for a while to play with ...or hoard

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,847

...that's what happened in my case as well which was very welcome.  Nice that the 40% discount for the D+FaD lasted a couple days. I purchased it separately then made a second purchase of the items I wanted.  If i is in the cart at the same time the PA coupon won't work as it is "new".

  • WendyLuvsCatzWendyLuvsCatz Posts: 40,049

yeah grabbed 2 DAZ for the day first too and some DAZ+ things I wanted

it's all rather complicated and not sure I juggled my carts optimally

5 carts in total counting the month subscription first
