Wow - there's a unicorn... Two LDs in one round that were on my WL /and/ discounted to under $2! Found a third DO from my WL that brought it up to $6 and checked out.

I actually used both my coupons this month.

Oh look -- March Madness is again being replayed. Why am I not surprised?

  • NetherFalconNetherFalcon Posts: 885

Not surprised.  Pretty sure spending has slowed massively this past week, and they brought it back to help drive some sales.  Eh, we'll see.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,270

My WL is happy to see it and I may grab a few treats because why not?

  • Cam FoxCam Fox Posts: 274

There's a few cart combos that bring a cart full of new and recent stuff to a solid discount. Alas I leaned too hard into March Madness and haven't refilled the Daz budget yet.

Can start with 10% gift card with an Antje item from the yoga-class sale

    Then:
10% off the whole cart with another Antje item from the yoga-class sale (applies to the whole order)
20% on five wishlist items with 1x new release and 5WISHES coupon from the yoga-class sale

    • Only if you haven't used the coupon already! Order matters, it's the first 5 eligible items in your cart.
    • It works for new releases wishlisted before 4/25 which can trigger other discounts on those sale pages.
    • It combines with most item categories from all sales which can help discount recent favorites or bigger bundles.

Tokens and Premier seem to apply pretty universally for additional discounts in the current sales/categories.

    Happy spending! :)

Yes, that was helpful. I also love seeing the enthusiasm of the younguns. Cuz I'm kinda j-j-j-jaded.

Could anybody who bought the new long 3DStyle dress let me know what the file size is? I'd love to get it, but had problems with too heavy items from this vendor before. Thanks very much! Link is: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-long-leather-dress-outfit-for-genesis-9-feminine.

  • I haven't bought much in April. Most of my "buying" was free stuff. Picked up Poppy Hair and i13 Doughnuts with the 2 free item codes, plus lots of the current Bi-weekly-ish Freebie set & the Daz+ Carrots (characters gotta eat too). Yes, I got Lyna with my free bundle coupon before I take yet another Premier break.

I did get the Willow add-on bundle and the remaining Toons In Space items I wanted way sooner than I expected due to a "Buy New item, get discounts on other New items" type promo. (I don't recall exact details.) The first New item - very good surprise! - triggered the discount on itself. With my last $4 store credit, it cost me under $8 for the bundle & 3 Iray texture expansions.* So that was my super-lucky cart. My second luckiest cart was several FirstBastion sets I'd had in my WL forever - because he discontinued one the next week. I missed out on another 2 because I figured I could get them later.**

*Yes I prefer products that include both Iray & Filatoon shaders but can't complain over $1.41 per expansion for something I definitely will use.

**Moral of the story: never skip reading the thread of the PA who always posts before he removes items from the store.

I don't really understand PAs dumping old products. I buy a fair number of old products. I suppose there's the "This isn't up to my current standards" bit. Well, you didn't have current technology and resources back then, and old products usually perk up quite nicely with new shaders and/or textures. Plus, older products tend to be easier on system resources, render faster, etc. That's a plus, and they work quite well in backgrounds, etc. And if people still buy them once in a while, it's still good for a little extra $$. But I don't control that. So, it is what it is - An annoying fact of life.

There is always the possibility that the set or sets are  getting a new iray facelift and rebuild.

...yeah had the old Sector 15 was on my WL before it was dropped in favour of a the new version by another PA.  I also saw that the original Streets of the Mediterranean (which I bought when it was released) is also discontinued and replaced with an "updated" version

Stonemason's older sets are still incredible and stand the test of time (particularly if you convert them to Iray).  I still use them in scenes..

In light of this I picked up the first two Urban Future sets along with a few others during this last MM just in case.

There were others too like a useful shader sets like one that had different window screen and chain link fencing textures and another with a carbon fibre textures, There was as a dark skin merchant resource that has the correct colouring on the palms and soles of the feet (which saves having to buy a bunch of different characters just for the skins).

I uyse SY dazdelight to iray convertor a lot. So far its not failed me. Somr of that pretty cool old stuff goes pretty cheaply.

I've also used https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-3delight-to-iray-converter a lot over the years. (Link so folks can find it without site search.) I use it as a first step when using older items for 3Diva's https://www.daz3d.com/easy-filatoon since the tutorial says Iray converts to Filatoon with less trouble.

@FirstBastion, I hope you do update those items.

Ditto. I probably own them already, but I missed the announcement of their impending deletion; so, I don't know which ones they were. I've always found that a simple Uber Iray conversion and the minutest of tweaking makes your older sets look great.

I like playing the cart optimization game even if it doesn't always end in a purchase! (But usually it does, haha)

...as I set up my own scene lights in Iray afterwards, the basic Iray Uber setting works well enough.

Last weekend was a catchup weekend.

So naturally today needs to be a catch-up from the catch-up weekend...

Because if you don't /call/ it "extended" then it's totally different than extending it. Totally. For real.

    Someone might have missed it.

I was thinking, it's actually pretty amazing that day in, day out, they always have a fresh sale page with new stuff, new graphics, sometimes extra fancy presentations.

I can cut slack for times when the page doesn't seem to change much. Even then, there are still day to day changes that someone has to make and check. Granted, some of the sales won't apply as expected, but the page itself is an impressive accomplishment.

The extra fancy presentations don't do it for me; my brain processes it as visual clutter I have to wade through. There have been several I noped out of perusing because I didn't have the bandwidth for it that day. Personally, I'd rather have fewer, simpler pages that present the info cleanly, function as advertised, and are accurate about their duration.

I don't control any of that. All I know is, doing all this every day means doing a lot of design work that gets shown for a day and then disappears

The time would be better spent making the sale page show the correct information and making the offers actually work.

    ...+1

The Store Page remained the same as the image I posted above for about 30 minutes before finally working.

I had same thing happen in March. Had a full cart, max amount off...lost the premier savings plus 8 tokens. and the sale items. Put in a sales ticket on March 23rd. Still have not gotten a response.

It would be great if things all worked off the same clock. I seem to recall something about memberships being based off UTC while the store is on Mountain Time for most other aspects.

I am an hour ahead or Daz & 5 hours behind UDT (I think). And mine has always expired on the correct day, before now.

ETA: I submitted a ticket & it is already fixed. I won't say anything other than I'm happy with the solution, since I know the Mods prefer we don't discuss details here.
