I'm not bowled over by the character herself, but this might be the first time I've wanted every single item in all of a character's bundles.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,294

I put the two main bundles and two textures in my cart, applied 8 tokens and brought the price down to $34.34. Not sure if I want to use my DAZ+ coupon this early in the month, but it would bring it down further by $6.00. I do like most of the clothes. Purses are a pain for me when it comes to simulations, so I generally avoid them. Chloe 9 is okay. She would not be an Olympic athlete, but she is typical of the young women I see around Colorado who are active in sports. I was interested in her mix with John 9.

Chloe 9 looks interesting. Not convinced she's the athlete claimed by the blurb, but she's more athletic than some recent characters. It will be interesting to see if she has some unique projection morphs for her clothing, as her small chest could cause issues otherwise. Generally, not bad. Regards, Richard.

I agree-I picked her up and working on some renders right now.  She's built like a more athletic (but not muscular) version of Elena 9, even the face is similar.  The strange thing is her small chest actually makes her a bit more unique among our recent models, who usually come super extra busty (ike the aforementioned Elena 9).  wink

  • I'm not super-excited about Chloe, but with free bundle, tokens, etc, I have both character bundles and the non toon texture expansions in the cart for just over $14. I'll go ahead and do it, as I figure there's better than a 50/50 chance that the other bundle this month could be a toon or creature, neither of which would interest me or have bundle contents that would interest me.

YES too, but also WHY: Why a sheep which we already have and not finally, FINALLY a GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAT?

I am less than keen on goats. Mostly due to an experience over Christmas 1986 at my parent's farm.

While we were having our Christmas lunch the goat owned by the bungalow up the lane escaped and came down the lane. Our dogs shot out of the house through the huge alsatian size dog flap in the back door, across the yard and barked at the goat. Far from frightening the goat off, it tried to attack the dogs. They ran back into the house through the dog flap, closely followed by the aggressive goat. However, as the goat was hugely pregnant, it was too wide to fit through the dog flap and got stuck with its head, neck, shoulders and frontlegs in the house.

Know ye, who've never experienced goats, they have no reverse gear. And its straining to get through the dog flap came close to damaging the door. So, we had to break off our Christmas lunch to haul the goat out of the door. Four people were barely strong enough to get the goat out of the door and it then required 2 of us to haul it back to its owners, fighting us all the way.

That's why I'm not keen on goats.

Oh, and sheep, in my experience, are terminally stupid. We had a number in the fields on the farm when my parents rented them out and they managed to kill themselves in unbeliebably stupid ways. One broke its neck 8ft up in the crotch of a tree. We think it had jumped up to get something in the tree, and hooked its head in the crotch of the tree when its neck snapped. Then, we found 6 dead and steaming in a ring around an outcrop of ironstone in the field after a thunderstorm. All were completely untouched apart from being cooked. Lightning had hit the outcrop, and caused sufficient eddy currents to induction cook them in a fraction of a second.

    Regards,

    Richard

Sounds like sheep are no smarter than some humans, who run to shelter under trees during a thunderstorm and get fried.

@richardandtracy, thank you for a good laugh. The sheep is staying in my cart as I can see the guy in a field in USC.

I'm constantly complaining about the Daz offer, about the endless line of white chicks and the heaps of skimpwear that pile up in the shop every day - and then comes a day like today, where so many interesting items are rolled out that you don't know where to go first. esha's Gothic Vignette, KindredArts' Dino Park, Sshodan's 18 Century Corset, just to name a few...

  • richardandtracyrichardandtracy Posts: 7,113

I have to confess I'm really liking Dreamlight's Fantasy Vignettes (particularly #2), but.. so wish the beautiful background was a USXT landscape or one of the megalandscapes so the character could explore other areas. However.. they're lovely, limited as they are. Sounds ungracious, and that's not the intent. I do like them, but can see where they could be extended in interest.

    Regards,

    Richard

Love the goat story! My wife grew up with a bunch of them, she has hilarious tales, too. They are just so clever and stubborn and really rather powerful. That's why I simply need some of them in my DAZ world!

Sheep live on the meadow next  to us, and while they're certainly not the brightest pots in the pantry, I haven't seen them do anything crazily stupid yet. The little ones are prone to try and squeeze through the fence into our garden and then, of course, complain bitterly why they're stuck now in this strange, motherless place. But apart from that, they only tend to lay down and look dead, and when I alarm their owner, jump about and laugh at me.

Oh, and they're apparently quite strong, too, the sheepsies. The owner told me that if there was anything they really really wanted in our garden, they would just lean against both fences until they'd flattened them ...

Absolutely agree. Since I spend here more than I probably should, I try to make a conscious effort every day for being picky about what I buy or add to my wishlist. But today that's being a real challenge for me. laugh

Agreed! My ancient Near East/SW Asia scenes would really benefit from:

    • A goat morph for Daz Horse 3 or Daz Horse 2, along the lines of DA’s new sheep, or a unique goat model
    • A bull counterpart to Marguerite and Denver (Denver must have a dad, right?)
    • And varieties of breeds and markings for all these livestock

So grateful for what exists, so eager to see more varieties of livestock.

Note: I do have and use an old goat morph for the original Daz Sheep, from Philosopher’s Egg, and https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/435747/horse2goat by cathan01_wwg1wga. I have a lot of trouble getting horns to work right on Horse2Goat though, and would love to see an easier-to-use kit.

Ooooh, a wonderful new Stonemason set: https://www.daz3d.com/a-village-by-the-sea ! Love the combination of vibrant colors and darker greenery. It reminds me a bit of the fabulous pirate shacks that The Management made a while ago. Can anybody tell what it's based on? The palms and such seem to suggest some warm climate, but I'm unfamiliar with the overall looks. Any clues?

Apparently linking to images in the gallery is acting weird right now, so https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/4816520051949568#gallery=album3784841&page=5&sort=trending&image=1050991

So nice to see. It renders well, too(ignore the ones in the back, as they are the original Daz sheep). I'd love to see a goat or ram.

  • I really love this boat.

I get the main thing that a lot/most people use Daz for but yikes, can't there be ordinary using-the-boat poses?

I'll buy it anyway, but I'd be happier about buying it on day 1 if there were at least some poses relevant to what actual people do with a boat like this.

The boat is worth it though... and goes very well with today's Stonemason village devil

Did you get only the boat or did you found the rest of the bundle useful ?

I got just the boat; the rest of the bundle wasn't useful for me. I'd have been happy with the boat with no poses either.

OK, you talked me into it. Yes, I already have the Stonemason village in my cart.

Could someone create some boaty poses for the boat & distribute them then? Would be nice to supplement the poses that come with the boat. Regards, Richard.

Punting on the River  probably has what you want and so much more, but it is expensive when not on a good sale.

Strangely enough, I was thinking of something free, actually. But then that's the sort of thing I do. Just can't do them at the moment. Regards, Richard.

So much agreed!!! The typical Linday sex babe poses are especially annoying to me, because they make the women - always just women, of course! - look so incredibly stupid and hyper-sexed. And why do they still always have to have their poor backs half broken? No one stands like this.

The boat is really really pretty, but it's scaled too big imo. Shouldn't disturb the poses if scaled down a bit though. I'll probably get it at some point because my aim in life is to buy aaaaaaall the boats at DAZ, but just in case some don't know, there's a very detailed and realistic boat of the same basic type included here: https://www.daz3d.com/lost-at-sea. It's much much cheaper and has a nice island instead of dumb poses.
