i'd like to try lightwave modeling tools one day.  but next, meshlab. gotta luv free

absolutely nothing wrong with polygon modelling and in fact it tends to be more lightweight than (say) the subdivision modelling I do. :)

..yeah, but the 995$ price tag puts it out of reach for many of us.

Hexagon is a real good polygon modeller, think it is still free. For anything requiring blobby stuff Sculptris is free. Can't think of anything much that has changed for  for polygon modellers in a  quarter century, except maybe UV unwrapping methods,  so it doesn't matter that Hex is old. Wings3D is real good as well.

...I love the clean UI and all but the one downside is it's instability.  It will freeze up without warning in the middle of what I am doing requiring me to kill the process in task manager, losing everything I did up to that point.

trying to move closer to work.  the walk to the bus stop is torture.

    feeling trapped.

i'm paying 700 right now, in the booooonies

...here in Portland OR you almost can't touch even a studio for under 750$ - 800$  and the average rent for a 1 BR is about 1,300$ - 1,500$.  The average "real" wage here is between 10.00$ and 12.00$ an hour. The median rent here is 1,580$ a month.  Rent increases have been outpacing wage growth here by a factor of 2 to 1.

    Median $1600/month in Melbourne

    ...that's about $1,150 USD.

i miss the craig furgeson LLshow.  vikings season3 should be out on dvd soon.  last episode i saw Ragnar had the king's sword.

  • Friday was an interesting day. no Left Orlando area for St. Petersburg after breakfast.  Stopped near Lakland to visit Florida Air Museum.   Arrived at cousin's home in St. Petersburg and pulled through the gate into the driveway.  I saw two cars, side by side, at the head of the driveway.  I bore right a little to pull in behind one of them.  Wrong move!  Stuck in thick black gooey mud up to my right side axels. surprise  I was not warned that I had to stay directly down the middle of the drive way until I reach the concrete pad at the head of the driveway near the house.  We were planning on going to lunch and it was noon, so we decided to try to back one of the other cars past my stuck car, go to lunch, and call AAA towing service after we returned.  Well, of course the 2nd car got stuck too. crying  Stuck in mud up to left side axel.   So we both called AAA and they had to make two call tickets and since mine was an out of state, the process got complicated for some reason.  Long story short, after an hour or so later, much juggling of a huge tow truck through a narrow gate off a narrow road, and a thoroughly filthy tow truck driver after crawling under the cars and digging out great gobs of mud, both cars were eventually rescued.

Great.  So now we desperatly need to wash the cars.  A hose that wouldn't stay attached to the faucet caused much consternation.  Eventually that was jury-rigged to hold long enough to get the majority of now rapidly drying mud from the wheels and brakes.  So we take both cars to a good carwash and get the deal that does proper underbody washing also.  Somewhere during the fiasco, either the tow truck driver or the car wash attendant moved my passenger seat forward and crushed the power cord plug (that was laying in the passenger foot space) for my Garmin navigation device.

OK, no big deal, I'm an old fart, I know how to read a map.  I sucessfully make my way from St. Petersburg to Venice, Florida and then pull out my Printed turn-by-turn directions to get into a complex gated community to visit another set of relatives.  Unfortunately..., the computer generated directions led me to the shortest route to the house.  Once inside the comunity property I immediately discovered a "ROAD CLOSED" sign on the intended path to the interior of the community.  OK, I'll just go around the block.  Nope, the community has lots of waterways and bridges and the area I was in had only one way to the other part of the community and it was closed!  Bridge out!  I called my relative and asked how I can get around the block.  He replied "You can't!  You have to exit the community and come to the other side and enter through the main gate,", and proceeded to describe the twists and turns and miles of driving necessary to accomplish that manouever.  I signed and said, "I'm sorry, I'm going to be straight with you, I"ve had a rough day.  Why don't you just come here and lead me through the maze.  All eventually turned out OK, but it was an interesting day.

Well, LG, I'm glad all worked out in the end for you, anyway.  At least it wasn't strangers you were visiting.  You might not have had the same responses.

All eventually turned out OK, but it was an interesting day.

It could have been worse... An old friend who moved to Florida has frequent run ins with alligators in her yard.

Glad it turned out okay though.

2 numbers in the take5 lotto.  no moola, only wins a free take5 ticket

wasted 4 hand written pages this morning, with pencil.  why do my chapters turn pervy, somethin wrong with me. no one wants to read pervy space pirates.  a space pirate captain can't be too careful bringing new recruits on board. need scans and probes to ensure no nano infestations. is common sense even before watching lexx or farscapes episodes.

have dreams of hiring a typist a couple hours a week, but is prolly illegal to ask an employee to type this stuff. >.<

The free ticket could be the real winner.

Pervy Space Pirates need love too... and some need to read about the exploits of their fellow Pervy Space Pirates... PSP... Hmm... I wonder if thats not just a reference to Playstation Portable stuff....?
