Password managers! I use Norton Identity Safe, but there are others that are good. Norton Identity Safe is free, which I didn't know until recently, because I have the security suite free from Comcast. There is a password generator they have with it, too. You tell it how many characters, digits, special characters and click the button and it spits out a password that you can copy and paste into a signup password box. And then Identity Safe will save that in your "vault" when you submit to the site. That way, you never have to type it.
I would be lost without it, I have a different password for every site I sign up on.

I think most of these things are not transferrable. Once you expire, so do the payments. I could be wrong, though.

...yeah, Green Bay lost Lacy for the rest of the game. However after two consecutive Seattle touchdowns after halftinme, the defence finally stiffened up, and not only held Seattle on their next couple drives but forced two turnovers (an interception and a fumble late in the 4th quarter that iced the game) Green Bay came back to score another touchdown along with a 2 point conversion to go up 24 - 17.and added an "insurance" field goal to extend the lead with only 2 minutes to go.
Been a long time since the Packers have been able to beat the SeaSquawks Interesting that Seattle's Quarterback Wilson ran for almost twice as many yards than their running back Lynch did. Green Bay's young defence which hasn't been that good as stopping the run game stepped up did a pretty good job of it tonight.

Hello. Taking a break from a Blender modelling project.
Saw a post above about passwords.
I think we've allowed password requirements to get WAY out of hand. More and more sites require stupid stuff now, like "must be 10 characters, have at least 2 capitals, four numbers, one special character $ or % but not spaces or underscores, and not in any way make a word that appears in any of the ten most popular dictionaries or any version of the Bible in English, Latin, or Pig Latin.
It's getting so ridiculous now that we can't even type our passwords in anymore without the help of a "password manager", and forget even attempting it with a smartphone, what with all the stupid pressing of "shift" that is required.
Why do we put up with this? The fact is, nobody needs a high order of entropy. Just keep things simple. In fact, entropy can be a lot lower if we would just put a limit on how many times a password couuld be attempted within a certain amount of time and a second limit on how many total failures before locking it and requiring a password reset. If you can't get your password right in 10 attempts, maybe, just maybe, you are not who you are. Or maybe you just shouldn't be logging on today anyway...
Okay, back to my Enderble rojectpay orfay an itbay, henthay offhay ootay edbay.
...seems one has to be a Mentat these days to come up with good passwords anymore.
You are forgetting one thing. Hackers these days aren't just trying one user account at a time. They get ahold of data...which holds your username and password, along with multitudes of other users' data. Even if the password is encrypted, once it's in their hands, they can take as long as they need to crack it. And with the networks and high end computers at their disposal, it doesn't really take long to crack a simple password. I'm talking seconds if that. A strong password does make it difficult. Sometimes more difficult than they think is worthwhile. The first thing they do is pass the data through matching databases of common passwords. You'd be surprised at how many people use these common passwords. They have 20% (easily, probably more like 40%) of a list already cracked in a few seconds using these techniques. And no matter how secure a site is...experience has shown us that it's not if, but when, a site will be breached. Sony, Target, even the US Government, have all been breached. This is the way most hacks are done these days. A strong password that is also encrypted, or better, hashed, is a lot safer than an easy to remember password. Using the same username and password on multiple sites makes the hackers even more happy. Crack one, automatically have access to any others that are found at other sites.

You didn't get my point, not at all.
If a crook steals the DAZ website, including passwords, then they have the key to the kingdom anyway, and my C$mpL!C@7%d password choice won't do me any good anyway.
If they are using a brute force "try, retry, try again" method to log into the DAZ Store or forum with my userid or email, they should get stopped hard by limits exceeded, with a password reset required. That problem is now solved. Now, if they steal my email account, then they could reset many of my passwords at will anyway and I'm basically screwed no matter how k0mpl#X my password was.
My point is that security does not necessarily scale with password hassle factor.
I'll say it again: Passwords are obsolete. We need to stop the torture and find a new way!
Also: By REQUIRING ever more complexity, are we actually REDUCING "human entropy", and making it easier for a password to be calculated?
I pick two words from very esoteric ancient religions and stick 'em together with some punctuation characters, best of luck to anyone trying to guess those.. heh..
