Karen looks a little like Felicia Day to me.

It worked for what I wanted to do which was add a trim to close up the openings tight against the skin :)

Nice! I'll have to retry my old project again. :)

I wish I could return Viccy 7 and get Karen (hell return em all except Bethany); I prefer her, but I didn't buy as there was nothing in any of the packs that was tempting, and the price for a new figure's UVs seems rediculous; I bought the other two figures which work fine without karen.

Returning or doing anything with the store might be tricky for a while. The product library is all messed up, so you can't download anything.

Thanks Mada. Reloading appears to work on one of the outfit but not dark guardian whichs seems to have a lot of pokethrough issues. I did check and the boots are parented to the figure. This is the newly released dark spell set. The clothing is loaded all at once using loader

Folks still looking for the un-shown makeup options? (yeah I'm not sure why daz hides them either)

I noticed the product description for FWSA Frida says it works in  3Delight,  but all the included materials are labeled iRay. What do I have to do to get them to look good in 3Delight? So far I haven't had any luck with that.

If they are not there then not much. Check again and if they're not there then open a ticket.

Thanks. I'll do that after I'm more awake. I wasn't sure if there were supposed to be 2 sets of materials, or I just needed to chamge some settings.

I like Karen 7. She sort of reminds me of Jessica Biel and maybe Olivia Wilde in some ways. One thing, though. The nipples and areolas are a bit crooked on the texture. Oddly placed..

The result of an injury she got in a fight with Gianni to see who had the bigger package. If you think that's bad, you should see what was left of Gianni...

I got a chance to try out a Karen render. This is with the Karen 7 HD morphs, and some tweaks to the MATs. Also, a teeny bit of the new G3F muscle pack added in. The face is just the Karen 7 (with HD) face morph, it could be my favorite face yet from DAZ. Beautiful, realistic, and not too cartoony. In my opinion DAZ figures are looking very good now, and the hair technology needs to catch up more than anything. (This is Leyton Hair with its default Iray shaders.) The bikini was something I made in Marvelous Designer and converted to a conforming clothing item in DAZ.

That's probably one of the best Iray renders I've seen! The bikini reminds me of the one Bobbie25 did for She Freak.

    Top job all round

Thanks guys! I've been looking at real-world photographs for inspiration, trying to replicate their lighting schemes and skin textures in Iray. That one had the figure on a dark set frontally lit by only a dim main and fill light, with the strongest lighting coming from the one side - a cool edge light above and a warm edge light below. They bounced off the figure's forms really nicely, showing off her shape and creating a mood. Tweaking the topcoat settings to get a reflective sheen on the skin helped a lot in picking the lights up, and was my attempt at replicating what real-world photographers do when shooting photos of athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness models. They often put baby oil or something similar on the model's skin so that it picks up specular reflections.

I set up another scene with Karen HD based on an ispirational real-world fitness glamor photo, trying out different topcoat settings for a drier skin texture than the last one. This one also has some morphs from the Musculature HD pack, and clothing built in Marvelous Designer and converted to a conforming clothing figure in DAZ. The two main lights are large cool soft spotlights from high on both sides, with a slight warm fill light in the front and another spotlight pointed at the background plane.

  • Great light and render. Care to share your topcoat settings?

Seems that I do have to get those Muscle Morphs. Had it in the cart but dropped it before checkout. Still not sure whether I should go with those morphs or wait for Zev0's ShapeShift.

Sure thing, screen caps of the top coat settings for the skin in those last two renders are attached below. I don't use any maps in the topcoat. Good bump maps and HD geometry on the model break up the highlights nicely in Iray, so I don't find spec maps neccessary.

Here's one more Karen experiment. To go for the real fitness model look, I needed some veins. I've been waiting around for someone to put out an HD Vascularity set for G3F, but finally got tired of waiting so I made some vascularity displacement maps by recycling some old vascularity displacement maps from V4. They still need a bit of work, but I think they're working well on the arms at least.

Also, the shorts and top are old autofitted V4 clothes (by using the "fit V4 clothes to G2F, save, then fit to G3F" method).

Another beautiful render. If you need vein morphs, RawArt's Massive for G3F has them. Even if you don't use the extreme muscle morphs that are the main focus of the set, the vein morphs are useful.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed that Massive for G3F has a veins morph, but from the product description and promo images I wasn't sure they would be to my taste. Looking at real world female fitness models, it looks like veins are almost always visible on the hands and feet, usually in the forearms too, often creeping up to the biceps, and (on really lean models) veins can occasionally be seen in the lower stomach area. The Massive for G3F promos and description give the impression that there are veins applied all over the body with one dial, with an emphasis on the torso and thighs (judging by the images). Cool for really extreme bodybuilder physiques, but not as useful for depicting healthy women who exercise and just have a hint of vascularity visible in their arms. I haven't purchased because I'm afraid I couldn't dial in a slight forearm vein without getting extreme veins all over the abdomen. Are there seperate dials for different body zones, or just one vein dial?

I thought Zev0's Vascularity HD for Genesis 2 was great, giving users the option to dial in veins to different body parts seperately. I'm hoping there'll be a G3F version.
