Tjohn, nice one! I love the 50's pinup style. You've carried it through very well. Reminds me of Peter Driben's work for Wink and Eyeful.
Thank you! Love the old pinups forom the 40's, 50's and 60's.
@Zilvergrafix "having fun rendering 3 WIP's and trying to finish further until sunday."
Your closeup with the red bikini top and the wave gives me a real 3D effect. Certain parts seem to be almost out of the screen. Well done.
..Chris, though I'm very big on G3, That is a lovely pic.
Tjohn, Love the expression.
A simple portrait postworked in Photoshop CS6: Dream Girl
Sorry, I forgot to say that I used Iray to render the scene. Of course you have recognized V7 and the Leyton Hair...
Some great renders here...can anyone point me to some settings for eyes when using Iray?
I'm using DAZ_cjones's method for eye surface settings... without the "replacing maps" part. I'm just taking the bare values. It's irrelevant if you apply either the "Glass - Thin" or the "Water - Thin" preset on the "Tear/Eye Surface", since the only difference between their setup is the Refraction Index... which is altered in the process anyways.
Wilfred, stop posting pictures of real people!!
New G2F Karate girl character I have been working on for a new Karate girl animation.
Render in Iray took 2 minutes with my graphic cards best viewed full size 1080hd
Hitomi never looked so good.
I got a couple of request on what I used to create my Karate girl g2f figure so here is the list my graphic cards are 2 Nvida GTX Titans, running SLI over-clocked
The character I made myself from Genesis 2 female and i added the V6 HD to it for more details for iray rendering and I used Forbidden Whispers Asian Skin Merchant Resource Texture Kit for Genesis 2 Female(s) http://www.daz3d.com/asian-skin-merchant-resource-texture-kit-for-genesis-2-female-s then I applied the Iray g2f skin shader to it.
The HDRI set I made myself I got the back ground from this link http://hdrmaps.com/freebies and then applied the Iray Uber shader to it.
i used Dimension Theory iRadiance - HDR Mesh Lights for Iray http://www.daz3d.com/iradiance-hdr-mesh-lights-for-iray
the g2f Korean style Sports bra outfit i got at renderosity. :) on sale for 10 bucks
I have 8 more renders on my art thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/9050/art-animations-by-ivy-summers/p27
..I thought for rendering purposes it was better to not have multiple GPUs linked in SLI.
here is one i did in iray using M,erlins crossing as the back drop set.
I linked mine through the Nvida control panel & it works fine, besides it was recommened for a couple of my games i like to play. you know the best of both worlds :)
From an Nvidia Iray document: http://irayrender.com/fileadmin/filemount/editor/PDF/iray_Performance_Tips_100511.pdf
SLI
Iray does not use NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI). However, performance tests showed that SLI can significantly slow down iray, hence it should
be disabled. SLI can be disabled within the NVIDIA Control Panel.
...yeah, if you also use your system for games, then yes, you need it. I just read it was better if all you were doing was 3D rendering, to not use SLI.
Great portraits and human figures everybody. Now for something completely different. A little scene where I was unhappy with both the overall colors and the levels of light and was getting nowhere so I let it cook then postworked it.
Anyone remember Oskarsson's Little Monster? Well he IS little and he's afraid of everything especially at night when it's hard to distinguish friend from foe. Though to him it's all foe.
.....the first shows more detail, but I like the second one better.
this is the specs of my titan graphc card and i have 2 of them. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-titan/specifications
So I don't thing having my sytem set up with SLI is a issue rendering with Iray. it takes very little time and I think my results speak for them self... But on the other hand i use my PC's for other thing other than just rendering daz art work. I use my custom desk top i had built by IbuyPower.com to do 3D printing, play 3d videos games such as GTA, Need for speed,, and world of war craft. and i use the 3d x goggles that I got at best buy to use when playing those games. which require SLI if i am piggy backing graphic cards. which I am.
I properly could just use just one of my titans cards to do the work load for my daz renders. but its set up in 2 slots and linked SLI . and for me it works great.. so I have no plans of changing my set up,
Have a great day
I agree. Thanks Kid.
...actually with both cards you have 6,144 cores. The more cores, the less time it takes for the render to complete.
If I ever get the funds to build the production workstation I designed, I'm planning on using four Titan X's (the most any MB can support at PCI 3.0 x 16) for a total of 12,288 cores. That will almost allow for "realtime" rendering save for very "loaded" scenes (and even then the render time will be calculated in minutes rather than hours as long as everything still fits in GPU memory).
Of course this could all be moot once Daz opens online rendering (wonder if they well be using an Nvidia VCA - 8 x 12 GB Quadro M6000s for a total of 24,576 cores) provided the cost is reasonable.
Man, online rendering...
It wasn't an issue to me until I started looking at doing art-quality renders (9000 x 13500, gulp), which will take my machine 30-100 hours to render. Eeep.
(Plus it completely ties up my computer)
Thank you very much for your appreciation, Tobor.
