  • Not yet Richard: the image you see was rendered exporting straight to OBJ and rendering afterwards. Even if it's non an optimized routine, it was quite fast: exporting from LAMH to .OBJ took about 2 minutes, and rendering 25. Of course on a 64bit system with plenty of RAM (mine has 24GB).

A test render for my new Koala model. I like how the fur looks with IRay as well. 25 minutes to complete.

RAMWoff is right. It IS adorable. One of your best, I think, although I really like the anteater, too, for some reason. smiley

How soon will we be able to use LAMH products in Iray?

you could do that already by exporting to .obj, but of course a more practical way to do it will be to adapt LAMH to use IRay hair primitives, whenever nvidia will decide to add support for those. We are really impatient for that day to come...

i am not usually fond of fictional creatures but i will see what i can do. There is any specific illustration that i can use to reproduce it? From what i could see the drop bear is basically a koala with lion teeth?

Here is my contribution.  Been working on an animation and decided to try Iray with one of my river scenes.  Came out pretty good I think for a first time.

The final result of my expirimenting in the Eva thread.  The pose was influenced by that famous Nefertiti bust so I went for somewat flater lighting than I normaly do, which I think serves the egyptian influence well.

I love profiles, I always make sure my characters have nice profiles, and this is one of my favorites.

I also love that ear, dont know why but every now and then I catch myself just staring at it

Its up in my gallery too (I realy need to redo my sig for the new forum)

Here is another one from me that I did while testing EJ Valeria. It's not the best, but I kind of liked the results so I thought I'd share the render.

How did you get the skin tone that color? Could you share the settings? Looks beautiful!

That is incredible, and I don't often say that.

The eyes, particularly -- that's usually where models look most artificial.

  • ToborTobor Posts: 2,300

Agreed. And the pose is just, well, perfect. Weeks of work an outstanding success!

The skin texture is Victoria 7 but modified. Starting from the default iray settings, in the material tab you select all the skin, turn the translucency way up (.86 for this render) set the translucency color to generally a brighter red (h/s/v of 17/255/165 in that one I think) and the diffuse color to a very light cyan (164/16/239), but basically just fiddle around with those options until you find a tone you like. I also probably lowered the specular a tad, as it shows up more on the darker skin.

Evil, that's an incredible render.  My lord.... Gorgeous! yes

    Thank you!

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,088

Huh. I hadn't tried setting translucency up that high... though I suppose I should, since I've been experimenting with setting refraction.
