3DConnexion Plug-in Error? Crashing during Render process?

I recently downloaded and started playing with this just last night. Created two images with no problem (three if you include one from a tutorial) and yet this image seems to be giving the program fits? Am I missing something that I have done incorrectly?

That is just a warning, not a real error, and it comes up for everybody I think, I certainly get it.

Can you tell me what you are rendering when the program complains, and an idea of what OS you are using, and how much RAM you have. Also are you using the 32 bit or 64 bit version?

I dont have the specifics on what I was rendering aside from they were two basic models, male and female, using the ac_doorway environment. I can load it back up as I saved it in case it did start crashing while I was rendering.

It looks like you have less than 3 GB of RAM, and you are using the 32 bit version.

This may limit the amount of figures, and other items you can have in any one scene. It certainly sounds like you may be running out of memory. If DS crashes, the next time you start it, look at the very end of the log file to see if there are any 3Delight error messages.

You really need to add more memory I think.

I've been having much the same problem, and yes, I'm running a 32-bit Windows 7 machine with only 2 GB of RAM (hey, it seemed like a lot at the time!). Basic OpenGL seems to work OK, but with Intermediate OpenGL or 3Delight, yeah, with a lot of props or more than one figure in the scene it crashes.

Are there specific render settings which might still let it work? Thanks.

If you look in Task Manager with DAZ Studio loaded, how much memory is there left for DS to use?

With Win7 loaded, and DAZ Studio, you may have very little memory left to play with, so the number of figures in your Scene, the lighting used, and any hair or transparency maps used will have very little memory left to work with.

Texture sizes will also be important in that case too, and the first thing that DS does when using the 3Delight renderer, is to run a program called TDLMAKE.EXE, which creates a lot of smaller textures for use in your render. It is similar to mip mapping in games engines, and that uses up memory as well.

There is no render setting that I know of that can help with memory issues as such. What do you have in the Scene which crashes, how many figures, clothing etc.?
