5thElement - I like your models and renders. Any details on modelling, lighting and rendering possible?
Magaremoto - same questions about models and rendering. Did you use light rigs?

    Marek

    Hi Marek,
due mostly to photon mapping limitations, - here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/academic/class/15462-f10/www/lec_slides/a1-jensen.pdf - you need to assemble a rig for lighting in carrara just like do other biased renderers, mental ray, vray or redshift to mention only few. In this wip for example there are a sunlight, 2 soft direct lights, a volumetric emitting dome, and a couple of anything glows lights, parented to an infinite plane and an emisphere, ambient occlusion, sky light and irradiance map to mix all together. Every light brings up the GI. In this particular case I am focusing on shadows and greenery rather than else

    Hi Mag,

Wow, an impressive 100 page manual. So I went to the main directory and found the course programme:

    http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/academic/class/15462-f10/www/

I enjoyed reading Lecture 1... don't know if I know enough to keep on reading but will see what is in there to help explain" how" 3D works.

    Cheers for that!

Some more "Thing" fun, inspired by Mike Ploog. ( the original is on my blog.)
This was meant to be a 100 percent Zbrush after my recent purchase and learning frenzy! But I managed to paint myself into a corner with it, and ended up with my usual workflow of 3DCoat to Carrara for hair and render. Though zbrush did find a place in my workflow and actually saved about 2 days work at the "retopology" stage ,which was being a proverbial brick wall in 3dcoat....

    Dont have nightmares....

Yes, are you using one of the plugins like YAToon, or something else? Looks fantastic. Bravo.

My imagination has done a runner,so another favourite character to pass the time until I can have an original idea. Not quite as I intended in my head but the boredom factor sets in after a week.

Just made up, but sort of going for a Dan Dare 50s/60s pulp type thingy type thing....( it started off as a caricature of "an actor" but quickly went pear shaped...or should I say alien head egg shaped!)
