Nice, I'd like to do something similar,
What I thought of doing would be to only have one actual zombie and create the rest with instances. Can you load up a figure, pose it, instance it and then delete the original!?
CHEERS!
I tried something like a zombie apocalypse type scene.more or less a test to see if i could at least do a bigger scale than i'm used to.
Later i'd like to give it a better shot with more varied zombies and people.and bigger scene.
Cartoony & cool speaking of zombies wwz is the 1st actual 3D movie I just watched on my 65" plasma
I think that was why I want Long Time Dead, I'm a big Walking Dead fan and want my zombies to have that look. I suppose I could add some Smay ones in the background for variation though...
CHEERS!
Just my latest
He'll have as much fun with her as you do putting the renders together.
CHEERS!
He he indeed
What no guns or zombies in this picture!?! Insanity i tell you!
Playing around with Lumikki for g2f
...ahh magic arrows will do just as good.
Nice work.
Definitely! Great render too.
CHEERS!
Hi, I don't mean to interrupt but didn't someone suggest that I buy or build a computer that has 2 cores and 12 or 16 GB of memory? I forgot. My dad wants to give me his old computer. The computer has a Pentium dual core G630 @ 2.70 GHz. The motherboard only supports a maximum of 8 GB of memory. I could use that computer until I can build my own computer this year.
At least the computer has Windows 7 64 bit home edition installed.
You should shoot for 6 core processors with 12-16GB RAM
Depends how much memory it has in there right now, more than 2 and it should do you till you can build your own. The motherboard I'm considering can go up to 32 and I'll probably start with 8 and put more in when I can afford to. Building your own does at least guarantee that you can choose components that will suit your needs and won't have to make any compromises.
One thing I have to consider is dimensions and what I can fit into the space in front of me, I almost wish I hadn't bought a 32" TV now!
CHEERS!
I have an AMD Vishera hexacore on my list and am aiming for 16gb. It's going to take me a loooooooong time to put this system together, but, it'll be worth it in the end.
CHEERS!
I forgot to mention that the computer currently has 4 GB (2 x 2 GB modules). I'll let you know how Daz Stduio 4 and Luxrender runs on the dual-core computer soon. Thanks for the advice.
Lux might stretch it a bit, I'm only going to try Lux on the new system.
CHEERS!
...if you're talking an i7, that is almost 600$. I have a, i7 quad core (4 "real" and 4 "virtual" cores for 8 processor threads) and it suits me just fine.
12GB is good and not that expensive (I can pertty much get 24G for slightly less than what I paid for the 12G I currently have). Most of the new MBs today are set up for Dual or Quad Channel memory, so increments of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB are more common. My MB is an older generation that ha 6 slots and was configured for Tri Channel memory, supporting a maximum of 24GB. The advantage of Tri and Quad channel configuration is that the memory load is spread evenly across the memory sticks resulting in improved communication between them and the CPU.
The reason I will stick with Intel is the i7 processor has "fatter" pipeline to the memory than AMD provides. The wider the pipeline, the more instructions that can be transmitted between CPU and memory resulting in improved performance when performing memory intensive tasks like rendering.
Something furry... White Tiger for DAZ Big Cat 2 http://www.daz3d.com/white-tiger-for-daz-big-cat-2
DS 4.6 Pro render (13 minutes 55 seconds). Lights consists of 1 AAL and 1 ASL.
Have to learn more about LAMH plugin usage.
Great renders Bunny & Artini

$600 for an i7!? That must be one hell of a processor! The 6 core AMD that I'm after comes out at about $132. Everything else I'm putting in is AMD so I'd prefer everything matching. I just checked the retailer I plan to use and their quad core i7 like you describe works out at $405, still really pricey for a processor.
I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to go over it once
CHEERS!
Looking good,
I've never been sure about LAMH, you'll have to let me know how you get on with it. Can it be flagged by the AAL and ASL? Those render times are definitely closer to what I've been getting with them.
I guess that background is another that came with Inane Glory's set, I haven't really investigated that set yet.
CHEERS!
Yours are good too.
That whiskey bottle looks more like a Malibu bottle.
CHEERS!
Just seen teen Jayden over in the store, my very own Justin Bieber, oh joy! If I got him I'd feed him to my zombies!
CHEERS!
Thanks a lot, Bobvan. Yours are looking good and I like how you pose your characters,
such an intriguing poses.
Thanks, Rogerbee. You're right about the background - it is one of the many that came with Inane Glory's set.
I am often using it for setting up the scenes quick.
I have not used LAMH so much due to its frequent crashes, but the recent version of LAMH is quite stable
and finally I can start to use it more often. Have not tried to flag LAMH by the AAL nor ASL yet.
I see,
Mind you, I need talk, I haven't touched Garibaldi since I got it, LOL! I will look at those IG backgrounds at some point though. My next purchase Daz wise will be Long Time Dead and then probably not much more till I have the new system built. I'll develop zombies in the meantime and that will keep me going.
CHEERS!
LOL! After tomorrow, this thread will be crawling with walkers, enough to keep Rick and co busy for months! And me hopefully!
CHEERS!
If it involves zombies eating the beebs im all over it
LOL! I'm not getting Jayden, but, they'll have Josie to chase. With the UV Setter from slosh, I can even turn her into one!
CHEERS!
Cant remember the last time I posted in this thread so I was rather pleased with myself, I try hard to get renders to look asif they were a photo or realistic looking, to me I think its a good job in my eyes but I am an old fart with nearly 50 year old eyes, So I need some feedback from some not so old eyes...lol
Thanks.
Steve.
