I got distracted by the "strange names" convo. I can't get the coupon MORE-CRAZY-DEALZ to work.

Update: I tried dumping the cart and getting three different items from the list. Still no joy.

    CRAZY-DEALLZ ddn't work, either.

I tried logging out and back in. Nope.

Then I tried logging out, adding the items to my cart, and applying the coupon. Worked great, so I'm obviously typing it right (BTW thanks for the weird spellings DAZ, it's really hell on my cognition) then went to check out. email and password, and the prices jumped up to pre-coupon levels.

What items are in your cart ?

One of my stabs at more-crazy-deals was

    Iray Photo Lighting Capsule
    Useful Fabric Iray Shaders
    Elaborate Metals Iray Shaders

    And a crazy-deallz was

MEGA Updo Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s)
Grace Yong and Grace Yong Hair for Genesis 8 Female(s)

@wiz The coupons work with these items

You already used the coupon-crazy-1 and coupon-crazy-3 , you can't get these offers again.

    Note: more-crazy-dealz it's Z not S

I was distracted and missed the first round of coupon offers.

Offers that are still showing in the banner now are: MORE-COOPUNS, MORE-CRAZY-DEALZ, and CRAZY-DEALZZ.

So far, I've not been able to get CRAZY-DEALZZ to work regardless of what two items I put in my cart: Not-new, no discounts, discounted because it's featured in another offer. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

On the other hand, MORE-COOPUNS and MORE-CRAZY-DEALZ do work.

Of course, the one coupon I actually want to use is the one that isn't working!

Wrong code. The one in the banner is CRAZY-DEALLZ. (i.e. double L not double Z)

Ah ha! Seems that was the issue. Thanks, Charlie.

    (Old eyes…!)

  • It seems there have been no further coupons either. I guess the wheels fell off this one!

It seems there have been no further coupons either. I guess the wheels fell off this one!

Although it does happen from time to time, typically none of the banners or offers change between Daz quittin' time and Daz Midnight. Most Flash and Blink sales begin and end while Daz employees are in the office, or the last flash sale(s) of any given day will end at Daz Midnight. The same is true with most time-limited coupon offers, like the ones in the banner now.

The "Coupon Craziness" banner states "Black Friday Savings All Month," so I expect we'll be seeing more of these coupons through the end of November.

I thought the biggest sale event was over and yesterday's coupons had even better deals.

I mean slowly it's probably a good thing that most deals happen when I'm sleeping.

The coupons yesterday link to Black Friday and seem to indicate that there will be recurring features until Black Friday. So can we expect more coupon sales in the upcoming days?

It was advertised as a NEW coupon every so hours.

I have a purple banner that says:

    TODAY ONLY
Get an EXTRA 10% OFF* your entire order! Just use coupon code

Offer valid only for intended recipients. Coupon only usable once per customer. This coupon cannot be used to purchase an item already owned at a lower price. (check, I don't)
Coupon code expires Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 23:59 (UTC -7 MST)

I apply it and it says it's not valid. Well, it's Wednesday, November 13th 2019 and only 0735 CST where I live (which is only 1 hour ahead of MST)  So why is the coupon saying it's not valid?  I have like 16 1/2 hours left .before it expires!  What's the deal? (other than no deal if they don't correct it) sad

I didn't get that.  I wonder what it's based on?

Yes, "TODAY ONLY" is just the message title, not the coupon code. Somehow the text with the coupon code seems to have become white on white background (it was ok this morning IIRC).

At this point I imagine DAZ has a pretty good track record of which customers are likely to be nudged into coming to buy more with the lure of a purple coupon, so it may be based on nothing beyond that.  They sent me one and I will almost certainly use it, so...

Why does the extra 10% off coupon only give another 3% off? Shouldn't it be 5%?

What are you applying it to? The extra 10% off apply after other discounts, so for example if you're using it on something already at 70% off the extra 10% would be 3% of the original price.

That's the scenario. I guess I will never understand Daz math. I mean, yes, I understand that it's not additional, but multiplicative or however you say that. I always have guesstimated the additional as about half of the stated percentage. 10%=5%, etc. I much prefer it when they do straight percentages. Some of us were not math majors... (My sisters were, but that knowledge/talent doesn't disseminate by osmosis, sadly.)

Not really a sales error I guess, but since richard seems to monitor this thread, https://www.daz3d.com/hearth-home-genesis-8-female  this sales page seems to have php tags in the plain text.

    Thanks, I'll flag that up.

I was arguing about this a couple days ago. They don't add the percentage to the base percentage. They multiply it with the final price. It would be more honest if they just stated the actual percentage reductions instead of bamboozling us with bigger numbers.

It really is basic math. "Percentage" is just another word for one-hundredth, so 10% is 10/100ths of something. You can read it as

    • 24.95 - 60% = 9.98 or as
    • 24.95 * .60 = 9.98

An "extra" discount will always be applied to the result of the previous calculation, like this:

    • (24.95 - 60%) - 10% = 8.98 or
    • (24.95 * .60) * .10 = 8.98

And if you do the discounts backwards, it will still come out the same:

    • (24.95 - 10%) - 60% = 8.98 (24.95 - 10% = 22.455; 22.455 - 60% = 8.952)

To be very, very clear about Daz sale discounts, any time Daz stacks discounts, whether it's a coupon code or a product that qualifies for two separate offers, (it does happen,) the store software is going to apply the discounts as I've outlined above.

Every time Daz offers a higher discount for meeting a requirement, they will tell you exactly what that discount will be.

For example, on today's promo, you can purchase any of the featured Genesis 3 products for 50% off. (This page.) But if you purchase two, the discount is 60%, instead of 50%. And if you purchase three or more items from the list, the discount will be 70% instead of 50% or 60%.

Now if you apply your 10% purple banner coupon, the software will apply the qualifying discount, (50%, 60% or 70%,) first, and then it will deduct 10% from that amount.

    It's even simpler than that.

Step 1. Put items in cart. Depending on how many you buy the price differs and populates based on the number of items in cart.

Step 2. Add the coupon code and you get the offered percentage deducted from the prices of the items in the cart.
