We talk a lot about the sales! Time for a new thread. (Probably won't last through the end of the year with the holiday sales coming up!)

Anyway, the last thread is here.

I'm pretty happy that there's not much I want to grab since I don't do anything with Westerns. My poor wallet needs the breather!

I don't do much with "Westerns" either, but I totally appreciate the work that went into those weapons! I'm still trying to decide if I want to pick up one of the three. I could have a scene with a gun collector… hmmm… the wheels are turning…!

But I agree, it nice to have a day or two breather in the midst of this sale. They are few and far between for me.

I wonder how those weapons are for polygons.  I've had to pass up using some I wanted in a scene because their poly counts were through the roof.

Just an update on my issue from yesterday with Paypal holding my payment for review due to the "Havana Hair" issue. The payment has been reversed. I have submitted a help ticket to Daz Support with all the details including the order confirmation email with items & prices in effect at the time. Hopefully the order can be re-created somewhow and I can avoid using Paypal as payment for it.

@pctech4ny, Daz and the PA are in the process of renaming the product. They have said it should be available under the new name as PC+/Day item. (Fingers Crossed.) Regardless, Customer Service here is the best, and I know they'll do right by you.

Those gun sets are fantastic — they're not just fixed props, the bits move. And I recognised a lot of the names from a Western series I used to read many years ago. Wishlisted all three, I'll buy the lot as soon as my bank card lets me.

All we need now is a variety of holsters and belts. The alternative has always struck me as eye-crossingly accident-prone.

I hope they have another cheap Genesis 2 sale, as I thought I put the Ballerina Outfit in my cart but didn't... sad

  • No such thing as too many guns

Now where did I put those Firefly files

Well, they would reverse the deal on the day that there's new releases I like, but a load of PC+ for a Day items for a genre I'm not very interested in, wouldn't they... frown

It'd still be a net gain buying some items I don't really need, but it's still annoying for that deal to show up on the one day when I don't want to shove several of the PC+/day items in my cart.

Looks like the new version will be called "Haven Hair" according to the readme, which has been updated. Not live yet, so, maybe in the next couple of days?

Since sales resolved my issue just now, I downloaded "Haven Hair" in DIM.

The collected works of J. T. Edson. They were OK for a while, and a fun read, but I kind of went off them about 30-odd years ago; can't remember when I last read one, and I don't have any of them any more. Most of the characters that used them had one particular favourite gun, and there's a lot of them in these sets.

BTW, Edson was actually English, and considered a horse to "look highly dangerous at both ends and <beep> uncomfortable in the middle."

Dusty Fog. Mark Counter. Ysabel Kid. Doc Leroy. Waco. Ole Devil Hardin. laughlaughlaugh I was a huge Edson fan. Up until about three months, I had about 100 paperbacks - I sold them just before we moved up here. I resisted selling them so much *sigh* but it was time to part with The Floating Outfit. Besides, they are all starting to be reissued in epub form LOL. I've never actually met another Edson fan! I did try a few of his other series - Rockabye County 'modern day sheriff' stories (Mark Counter's great grandson) and the Dawn and Bunduki series (omg that one always used to crack me up! Dawn being a descendant of Tarzan and Bunduki another Counter) but his westerns about the Floating Outfit were always my first love.

It looks like Havana Hair has now been renamed Haven Hair. There is a product update with that name in my DIM; but the product is not yet active in the store.

Looking at today's sales page, I get a 'last week of the PC Sale' vibe. Why? Most of the store is on sale, there's no new 'PC For The Day' link, just all the PC stuff lumped together (which includes some new offerings that you need to dig for), and a dribble of rather uninspiring debut new releases.

Let's hope there will be something interesting for the last weekend of the sale.

I don't get the Buy any New Release to get 5% OFF* a Gift Card & a Platinum Club Plus For a Day Item for each additional New Release purchased get an EXTRA 5% OFF* - is it saying you get 5% off a PC+ for the day item if you have a new release? So they'd be lower than the 1.99?

Same, doesn't even work with a debut item

Ah, not just me. It would be helpful if someone could explain what today's sale means re PC+ for a day - I may just be being thick, but I can't see what it does. Is there a limit to the number you can get? A nice, slow explanation in a big font would help out an old fool (this is always how I feel here).

With 1 new release and 1 PC+ for a day, you get 5% off the giftcard.

With 2 new releases and 2 PC+ for a day, you get 10% off the giftcard.

With 3 new releases and 3 PC+ for a day, you get 15% off the giftcard.

With 4 new releases and 4 PC+ for a day, you get 20% off the giftcard.

    Works fine here.

if that is what it means, it's written around the wrong way. It should say:

Buy any New Release & a Platinum Club Plus For a Day Item to get 5% OFF* a Gift Card - for each additional New Release purchased get an EXTRA 5% OFF* off a gift card

Just don't understand the red part, maybe they've just copied and forgot to remove "Platinum Club Plus For a Day Item " ?

Hmm. I thought it meant you need a new release AND a "PC+ for a day" item for the 5%. But it seems to work fine without the PC+ item, with just the new release. Disregard my above post. :D This is how I interpreted that sentence, and it worked, but apparently it does not need the additional items. Even better, then! :)
