This is just the mane from the Warhound.....when I went to download the beta I saw hair for the daz horse 2 and this popped up...I give up been at this all day....sorry
Trish, I suggest you try the LAMH 1.07 RC which is more compliant on DS 4.5 and 4.6.
See here how to get it: http://bugzilla.look-at-my-hair.com/
I am trying...
Would the update to the full plugin be equivalent with the beta, or should I wait for the full plugin to be updated further?
Today is just not my day....to play with new things...you got to laugh..sometimes its all you can do...I will try again Thursday or friday
Hi, I PM'd you.
Hi, the 1.07 is currently on RC (Release Candidate) status. Especially if you are using DS 4.6, I'd recommend to try it.
Okay. I went to the site and downloaded the RC version of the full plugin. I deinstalled the old one, and the player -- which I had also downloaded.
I installed the files that I'd downloaded. I opened up studio. LAMH shows up in the Create menu; "Create new Look At My Hair object".
So I generated a primitive cone, selected it in the scene tab and selected LAMH in the Create menu, expecting to be told to go to the website and activate it.
No. Instead I got a completely blank LAMH window with nothing whatsoever in the window, just a blank white page, and no active controls.
I'm going to try again by loading one of the cats and the hair from the fur product and see what that does, but this is my experience so far.
ETA: Okay I went back and loaded a cat, posed it and tried to load fur. Studio crashed. The Plugin is not working. At all.
I've got the automatically generated crash report that went to Apple, and I've got the log file -- which no doubt also records the earlier attempt to put fur on a primitive. They are both completely double-dutch to me.
What next?
If you have previously registered via the 1.0 plugin, then you will not need to re-auth.
OK. You don't want to uninstall the 1.0, the supplementary files are necessary. Install 1.0, then overwrite the files with the files from the RC archive. Without the supplementary files, there are no shaders or icon images, or anything.
The RC archive only contains the necessary files that changed. This is to keep the download size from be a problem to those on limited bandwidth connections.

Okay, I reinstalled the original version of the plugin. I'd just redownloaded it, but the version number was the same. Then I reinstalled the update over the top of it, letting the new plugin file overwrite the first one.
I tried to load one of the furred cats and the program crashed.
Will now go back and see what happens when I try to put fur on a primitive.
ETA: well I no longer have a blank white window with nothing in it. I have a blank black window with nothing in it. The buttons now have icons, but nothing does anything and the selected primitive that I am trying to put fur on does not show up in the project window.
Sorry fellows. Your Plugin does not seem to be working.
Contact me at krsears (at) trdc.biz so we can work on your issue more efficiently.

Same issue, I dl'd LAMH 1.07, installed over top, load Cat, and crashed the program. LAMH no longer works.
Edit: I can call up LAMH from the create menu fine, but loading a LAMH cat causes a crash.
MadBat,
see if helps, instead of loading the cat .duf preset directly, to load the plain figure (without fur), and load one of .lmh presets available in your My DAZ 3D Library->Animals->DAZ Big Cat 2->Breeds->AM folder
So it sometimes works better to already have a cat in the scene and then to load another one? Because the ones in the breeds folder all come in with the cat base as well.
Nope, sorry if I wasn't clear.
Instead of loading a duf. preset (which will load both the cat model, and the LAMH Preset automatically), you might achieve the same loading first the cat model (thus the DAZ cat figure), and after that use the LAMH Player or full version and attach a .lmh cat preset file.
If it's not clear tell me and I'll make a simple movie to show that.
Ok, I did that, with another milcat loaded and selected. This time, It loaded a second cat (black panther this time) and attached the fur to the first one. Posed both and they are in a scene now being rendered, so far so good.
Just so we are clear here, loading a preset from the breeds folder loads a cat.as well. The first attempt, I loaded a milcat, then the breed preset as suggested, and crashed with an LAMH dll error. Updated LAMH, and tried again, that time I may not have had a milcat loaded. Crashed with a daz core error that time, not lamh. This time, I loaded a daz bigcat 2 duf, from the base selected black panther from the breed folder, loaded black panther preset, got ANOTHER black panther and the fur atteched to the first one. This scene rendered fine.
Tried loading a preset on Cat#2 (with no fur) and this was the fatal exception I got:
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\QtCore4.dll" at 0033:0000000060631CAC, QObject::objectName()+12 byte(s)
Opened Daz again, followed your steps, and received the same error and CTD.
Replaced the plugin dll from lamh v1.07 with the one from here: http://www.furrythings.com/lamh-player/ and managed to load cats. Loading a preset from the breeds folder without a milcat, still loads a milcat, with fur, but the fur is a mangled mess. Using an AM preset from the breeds folder loads a cat and conforms it to one loaded, THEN is works. So in order to have a milcat with fur, be prepared to have 2 cat figures loaded.
Last Test: Loaded cat, loaded fur, all good, use pose preset, all good, try to change pose via dials and get another CTD:
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0033:0000000000000020
What is the process for getting a refund on this? And sorry to say but as far as I'm concerned LAMH is a pile of scrap.
LAMH from the DAZ Store is NOT the version that works with the NEW BC2 sets. First you need the LAMH full installed then you need the LAMH Full Update Beta from AM's site installed properly to use the BC2 sets. That or you ONLY use the LAMH Player Beta from AM's site. Only the Player Beta or the LAMH updates to FULL will run the BC2 presets. I only use the LAMH Player Beta and disabled the Full LAMH. I will update to the FULL LAMH in the near future. Which is both From DAZ 3D and From AM's site. Neither work on there on, it takes both for the Full. The Player Beta is stand alone and works 100% for me and another I know on a much different PC than mine.

From memory that is the error I get if I load a Cat 2 when I have another figure in the scene. If I load the Cat 2 into a blank scene it works.
Yup, I already know that, and installed both updates as I previously said. These CTD's are after the reinstall of v1.07 from his site as AM indicated, AND installing the player beta dll. As I also previously said.
Mil cat 2 by itself works fine, AM LAMH presets in http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/real-fur-for-big-cats-2 and http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/black-panthers-for-daz-big-cat-2 are what cause all of the CTD issues, AFTER the suggested fixes.
I've successfully loaded and rendered cats, hyenas, and griffons and even chucked in a Llama for good measure and it all loaded & worked fine. It's the LAMH system that needs fixing since the last update.
Edit: Simon, I DID have a genesis figure in my last test with the LAMH system...it seemed stable untill I attempted to manually pose a posed and furred milcat, then I got the last error there.
Since then, I have a scene with a genesis figure, lion, hyena, griffon, AND a Llama (for the hell of it) with no issues so far. None of them are furred, so all these issues stem from the LAMH system.
A new RC2 is coming out in the next several hours or so pending final testing by testers.

Great News... Thank you for the Info.
I thought forums are where you came to discuss these things, so other people could see there were issues, and hopefully avoid some frustration. Silly me.
Thanks for the response Kendall.

Thanks for the response Kendall.I was trying to get you the help you need as fast as possible. Sorry if you did not see it the way it was meant.

If you are unhappy with the product and doesn't work for you, return it. No need to insult people work like that.
We are working very hard to catch up with all the changes that occur to Studio at each release, and make LAMH compliant with that. Believe me it's not such a simple task as it sounds.
Well, I've waded through this thread and tried to read all of it, but most posters seem to have the full version and I didn't see my problem as I skimmed through. I have the free player. It's not listed in my product library or the DIM. Why isn't it? I have to download and install it to even get started, and I don't download stuff from other sites, particularly when it's SUPPOSED to be here. Am I just going nuts?
Hi Novica. The current LAMH Player store version is 1.06.6P, and is the one that you find in your DIM right now.
A few days ago we submitted at DAZ a newer version, 1.06.7P, which should appear in your DIM anytime now. If you are eager to try, we are already supplying such version at the following address: http://www.furrythings.com/lamh-player/
Mind that it doesn't come with an automatic installer: you'll have to manually unzip the file in your /Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/
I found it in my Product Library :) Thank you so much.
Mine crashed. Doing it again and it is WORKING :) So far so good.
I want fur everyone else has fur.....What am I doing wrong??????Trish
