Here's mine with totally guessing on the lighting (stupid me didn't add the lights before I did the fur, so I was staring at green spikes and just guessing. I'll have to redo him but I was afraid to stop the render as it might crash. No problems though.) When I redo the lighting I will post the new one. So this is the first test render.

Trish, I've attached the screenshot of what mine looked like, the same section you're in.

Do not select the ss one. Go for the one to the right of it. In my view, the one on the end.
EDIT: if that doesn't work, remember I am using the Free Player (the link that was given me to download, scroll back a couple posts to see it) and try doing this with that if all else fails. Headed off to get some sleep, will check in with you later. It's 8:20am and I've not gone to bed yet! zzzzzz.

Hadn't tried all of the versions as I was using the Puma to start with but you piqued my interest ... so I tried the Lioness:

    DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\lamhPlugin.64.dll"
    at 0033:000000000E589724, DzLine3::operator=()+882916 byte(s)

The Leopard loads. Then loaded the Cheetah and ...

    at 0033:000000000E654E84, DzLine3::operator=()+864324 byte(s)

The Cheetah by itself loads. Being a glutton for punishment, then loaded Leopard and:

Still, once/if they load they are very nice!

I want fur everyone else has fur.....What am I doing wrong??????Trish

I'm having the same problem. It loads the BC2 and the real fur add-on, but doesn't seem activate the real fur to render. I've upgraded the player to the latest beta version, but still have the issue.

You can get around this by loading the player, selecting the BC2 breed you want and then loading the LAMH player. Select the "Attach LAMH Preset" and look in the Breeds folder for the corresponding LAMH preset. I haven't figured out where the Hyena .lmh presets are yet

I have update this morning to DAZStudio 4.6.1.39
With the lst version finally i can have all LAMH furs breed of big cat 2 working and render (very nice)
But now with the new version of DAZ when i try to load these LAMH furs Daz encounter fatal error and close
I go to http://trdc.biz/bugzilla/index.cgi and download and install Windows 64 bits release candidate (supposed last version but it is 1.0.7.0
and i have the commercial plugiin)
And these LAMH presets not working and my DAZ close when i try
Before when i loaded the scene saved before with big cats and LAMH fur on them everything was ok and i have some nice renders
Now the same saved scenes are still loading but no fur on the big cat
    too bad !!

Okay let me restate what I did to get fur working. It is only the LAMH Player Beta but It is working properly.

Step one, I uninstalled the LAMH Full player fully, that means BOTH versions 32 bit and 64 bit. It simply did not work with the BC2 at all.
Step two, I made sure that even the PLUGIN folder in the DAZ Studio Program folder on my drive was gone. I then rebooted clean.
Step three, I went to AM's site and Downloaded ONLY the LAMH Player Beta 64bit. And unzipped to a temp folder.
Step four, I copied that DLL file to the DAZ Studio plugin folder, not to a folder in it just into plugins.
Step five, I booted DAZ Studio and tried the full Tiger presest. It loaded and rendered fine. All of the BC2's do.
Step six, For other presets I open the player from Windows>Panes(Tabs)>LAMH select the figure in scene tab then load the Preset from the bottom right of the LAMH Player.

I have not tried the 32 bit Player as I only render in 64 bit DAZ Studio. Until I know the FULL LAMH is 100% again I am not going to try using it at all. Even I could not get it to work properly (read at all) with the provided update at the time. I have not tried the newest full update at this time.

I hope this helps some of you get fur working.

Reading all these messages this is what I've learned...

to work you need one of two things NOT BOTH

(1)Original LAMH from store with beta release candidate LAMH from site installed over it

    OR

(2)The standalone player available from the site (and maybe now from DIM though I haven't seen it yet).

Nothing else will get you there.

    To me that is Correct.

Not necessarily it seems, as the full LAMH plugin (release candidate) crashes the DAZ Studio stable for me (on some presets), but it doesn't crash the latest public beta of DAZ Studio. Neither DAZ Studio install has any remnants of previous LAMH plugin installs. Perhaps the player is the safe route at the moment, but I'll just use the DAZ Studio beta for now.

AH, I do not Run the DAZ Studio Beta's. I had to many issues with saved projects in the past. The Player Beta is stable for me in the DAZ Studio 4.6.1.39 Pro full release that we just got. Hope this clears things up even a bit more.

If there is a new release for the studio, I haven't gotten it and don't plan to. Everything does what it is supposed to do for me, FINALLY, (wish I had kept 4.5) so what I am using is the version that has been around the past couple months.

And all I am using is the free version, from the link they were nice enough to provide.
    http://www.furrythings.com/lamh-player/

    Then I used:
    http://lamh.ovbi.org/LAMH_Player/lamhPluginPlayer.Win64.zip

I did just check to see if I had parented the fur, I didn't. It says Puma LAMH Group in Scene.
I went the route that Alessandro suggested, by first loading the animal. Then My DAZ 3D Library->Animals->DAZ Big Cat 2->Breeds->AM to load the fur.

Bottom line though- I started from scratch with only player from above installed. The free player, not full version. No problems other than the first crash when it started to render. Then it rendered. However using the above, it loaded fine.

Be sure you save before you try and render, in case it crashes!

EDIT: Testing the lion now. It loaded no problem, rendering without crashing at the moment.

Ok...I am not trying to be a pain in the butt.....but sometimes it seems that way....Alessandro...pm-ed me with the link I un-installed and re- installed....now that I did that the full product works and I can make my own fur on things which I paid for the full product (I don't have the talent to do that ) but it does work and I don't want to mess with that part.......My whole question is why doesn't it work from the smart content pane or the Poser side just by clicking on stuff the way I usually do??? Is that part being fixed?? and this is just my opinion ....why should I as a consumer have to jump through all of these hoops to get a product to work that should have been working before it was put up for sale...only my opinion again...just my feelings on this subject...do I want fur bad enough to put up with the crashing?? or the possible it might crash... no I want the product fixed and working the way it should be...I might as well get this out of my system so I can stop thinking about it Example: If I buy a new car and there is something major wrong with it do I have to go to all these mechanics to get it fixed no I go back to the dealer and they fix it...do I want my money back for that car no I like the idea of owning that car......Thanks for letting me express that now I am all done....Trish

That is an excellent question Trish. If you have paid for the full player, you should be able to use it easily and from the Smart Content.

Are you saying you have finally gotten it to work for you? Yippeee!

Kendall I have done all of that what do I need to do now ...Please read my above above post....about 5 people only can get this fur to work...again I own the full product why will it not work from the smart content pane????Trish

Hmm... that's a good question. I can load the Full BC2 presets into the Player from Smart content. So It's only the Smart that's not loading Trish? Can you load from Content Library Tab>DAZ Studio Formats>My DAZ 3D Library>Animals>DAZ Big Cat 2>Breed>AM ?

Jaderail: no Ican't load it from there either...That's my whole gripe.....see heres the thing you should just be able to click on the smart content and it loads the animal with fur....There is a .duf file listed...unless I am confused which happens a lot...I can play all day with the animals just not fur...unless I try to make my own which it will let me do but its too hard for me.....see I tried

DO you have a "My Library" folder under "Studio"? Normally the path goes to "My Library"

Okay as it looks I think your fine. I know you took time to set that up properly. I'm starting to think its a limitation of LAMH full. As I recall, it's been a long time, LAMH is only designed to load saved presets to the selected figure. The FULL Figure with Preset (Smart and my Path) is not how it was built to work. Can you try this for me...

Load the Figure with NO Fur just the textures. Open LAMH and use it to load a Preset to the SELECTED figure you loaded. The LAMH BC2 presets are in your Content>Animals>DAZ Big Cats 2>Breed>AM folder on your HD if I read your path right.

EDIT: After reading your Post above again I'm lost. Sorry Trish.
EDIT2: Try the above anyway. Lets see what happens.

Going to the dentist? LOL. At least you have a sense of humor. Mine would be totally gone if I was encountering what you are with a fully paid version. If anyone can help you, Jaderail can.

I just tested the Cheetah in Smart Content. It IS screwed up.

Here's step by step, I'm doing it again now:
Figures>Animals. Shows Cheetah.duf and only Actors.
Clicked on go to product view. Shows products for the Big Cat.
Clicked on Cheetah.(Actor) LOADED, NO PROBLEM. But how to load the fur?!
Figures>Animals is still highlighted, and only the black panther and hyena are on my screen. All actors. If I expand it to Land, same thing.
If I click on the next group, HAIR (a separate category) only the lion and lioness are showing.

Even if I have Cheetah selected in Scene, and typed in Cheetah in Smart Content search, NOTHING IS FOUND.

That's why I only use Content Library. EVER.

EDIT: And I don't have LAMH full. You're in good hands trish, with both Jaderail and Fixmypcmike.

Well at least I know now I am not the only one with endless problems with LAMH.

I got it to work once and it was a fluke. Just degraded my Windows from 8.1 Pro back to 7 UE and I haven't reinstalled LAMH yet. Did you DL the version from the website for premium members? Just curious.

Initially I had the free player and installed the one you download from your "My Account" section here. But the LAMH Full 1.0 doesn't work with the latest release of Daz Studio. Alessandro sent me link to the website and I DLed the latest version which cleared up my initial hiccups but presented me with new ones. LOL!

I was reading that there is a standalone version, yet I am unable to locate it, but if that is true I am thinking that will be best. For instance I have the models Lycoan, Satyr, and Minotaur and their LAMH mats work fine in Daz with the LAMH Free Player. I used models with LAMH mats in free player before and it worked fine. Yet when I try to create my own hair mats in the premium "FULL Player" Daz Studio will either crash or the hair fails in rendering and I only get guides.

I am thinking if they offer a standalone then [though it sounds like a headache] you create and pose your toon in Daz, export the file or bridge it, then open it in LAMH, create and apply the LAMH group and save, then reload the character in Daz with the attached mat. That sounds good in theory.

"Bark at the Moon" rendered with Free Player using the Lycoan model offered in store. The second "Batman" a custom model with custom hair rendered in LAMH FULL Beta 1.07.03 x64 wouldn't work.

I have tried this on various settings, using 3Delight and other possibilities... Never got it working right myself. Finally just gave up.

Trish did you have the CAT figure loaded and Selected in the Scene Tab of DAZ Studio when you tried to open the Preset? The Preset is the .lmh thing NOT the .duf.
