LAMH Support is now its own thread!
I don't know what I am doing, or did, wrong. I downloaded the free LAMH to the correct location, and I purchased the real fur for Daz big cat 2, and everytime I click on the icons to add the real fur my system crashes. ????

Please check that the LAMH player is correctly showing in the DAZ plugin list. Just to clarify, you just need to double click a lamh cat preset, there is no need to load the base cat figure first
Unfortunately this is a regular occurrence for some with LAMH, sadly the plugin is not very stable.
Meh, the only time i have issues is when Daz "upgrades" a version of DS and then breaks EVERYTHING. I never should have left 4.5.... 4.6 made a mess of everything. So darn tired of reinstalling optitex trying to make it work again (it keeps stopping for no reason) and the pwShaders aren't working either.... considering there's so many versions of DS on people's machines and all of them break something or other or making something incompatible with something else.... More inclined to think its a DS caused problem. Dangit i want 4.5 back :(
these cats are awesome tho and I can't wait to render up some gorgeous beasts!!!! Plus my toddler is cracking me up and today asked if we could have one of the tigers (well technically he said lion but meh he mixes them up) I think I'll be doing a bunch of tiger pics soon :)
Alessandro_AM, yes it shows up in my plugins, and I just tried clicking on only the icon for the real fur, and not loading the cat first, and once again it crashed. Very, very frustrated!!!! No way would I purchase the full version when the free trial crashes incessantly. Very disappointed as these renders look great! Any other ideas?
Do you have the latest files installed? I have the full version and had to download updates for it to stop crashing. Might need to do the same for the free version.
Odd I have no problems with anything but the LAMH player.
I'm also very reluctant to buy as the Big cat items including the LAMH presets are in the snowball promotion and can't be returned if bought in the first few days

Alessandro both you and Kendall have helped sort problems out on several occasions and this is what frustrates me, it just doesn't seem very stable.
I did put a post in the LAMH player thread a while ago but it wasn't replied to.
Old scenes have become corrupt, when loading the scene it gets to LAMH loading assets and DS crashes, and if I save anything with LAMH, if saving doesn't crash DS, that also becomes corrupt.
The bug report says this -

I'm not the only one who is having problems.
I understand but that (the crash report) doesn't help much , we need log files to understand the issues and some cooperation on testing.
We also can't keep up reading all the threads and messages posted around, that's while we asked to address issues directly via email, so that we can keep track more easily.
In case it helps anyone, I found the latest LAMH player via DAZ downloads crashes LAMH Big Cat - it's the latest beta that lets me load without crashing.

I put in a ticket for a refund anyway. Selling items that do not work (crashes system) and stating no refunds available during the sale time is just not right. I purchased these items in good faith with the implied understanding that they work They can keep their snowballs. I have all the snow I want outside my window.
Ok I've downloaded that, and will install it and see what happens although I don't really like using beta's unless I am actually testing them
omg I did not mean to open up a can of worms. I posted here because I was hoping that someone here had already encountered this problem and knew how to fix it. There is a tremendous amount of information here in the forums and a wealth of knowledge that I was hoping I could tap into. I did delete the free version and download the free beta version. After getting an error of "out of memory" twice, and restarting my computer twice, I am now on my third try and have gotten further than I have so far, up to 70% completed. Keep your fingers crossed for me. The theory behind this program is remarkable if they can get it to work. I have a feeling there are many, many bugs to work out. I hope some day it works flawlessly.
And where does one get the beta player again?
Is that what downloads if you have the player in your purchases account, or do you have to go find it somewhere else?
luannemarie how much memory is on your computer?? I haven't had any out of memory issues except on my 2gb ram netbook O.o my 4gb laptop can handle a good deal more and my 16gb ram only gets memory errors when i get carried away and have 3 instances of Daz rendering, one of poser, am modelling in sculptris and have 80+ chrome windows/tabs open and 20 IE explorer and GIMP open with about 12 images with 60-80 layers each ...

Oooo facebook...oh wait... email...other email...facebook...GAME! uh check all the stores....oooo...open every item in a new tab...SHINY..... go paint stuff in gimp...start a daz render ..>FACEBOOK!... Giiiiiimp gimp gimp...more coffee..... OOOO new sale....hmmm....still no money... wishlist wishlist.... new daz instance.... oh boo, dynamics not working again, open poser, lalala, drape, send to ds, start another drape.... in ds realize i need a shape...open sculptris to make it... lalala...email...facebook....
and so it goes.... T_T and goes and goes.
See why I need more memory? Because i need an upgrade in real life focus :P What was I talking about?
Oh right. Luanne how much memory on your machine? are you using daz 32 or 64?

ok I am trying to make the fur is there a PDF anywhere anyone knows of it gets this far and that's it???? and it says rendering and stays that way forever....sorry confused again???? Trish
You are seeing the "guide hairs" in this picture. It keeps your machine from completely bogging down trying to display the full fur. If you render, you will see the realistic fur. Depending on the speed of your machine and the number of hairs, it can take a significant amount of time.
You can set the parameters via the LAMH pane, Window->Panes(Tabs)->Look at my Hair

This is what I have.....and I will probably get in trouble for this but it will run this program and not bog down (sorry no promo intended) that's why I don't know what I am doing wrong....I don't have any lights set up???? but it has been saying rendering for almost an hour and a half...Thanks in advance Trish how long should it take about????

ok this is what it is set on......I don't play with this part much except the size because I don't know that much about all the bells and buttons...I am really dumb when it comes to Studio...Bryce is my thing

From the screenshot you posted, I saw that you covered all the cat parts (even eyes etc.) with guides. That will take much longer to compute and render. Better select follicles 'by surface' (there is such option), and select the 'body' surface only, so that hairs will be grown only on the body and not on unwanted surfaces.
Also, how many hairs did you set up on export?
If you like, save the preset to .lmh and email it to me, so that I can take a look at it. My email is: info_at_alessandromastronardi.com (replace "_at_" with "@").
As a reference, on an i7 Q740 the tiger preset (1,5M hairs) took about 2 minutes with base DAZ lights and 6GB RAM.

That's what I am trying to tell you I am a dummy....I purchased it when you had it on sale this last time and this is the first time I have tried to play with it...must have been during the plat club sale I guess...I was trying to make my own fur...Do you have a PDF on how to use it??? If everyone would stop selling stuff I would have time to play with the stuff I already own....LOL

Looks great Wendy...maybe I should just buy the fur and be done with it I was right in the middle of playing with the saber tooth and Studio crashed while I was making fur...sent in a bug report......Trish
Wendy....Well I watched the videos and read the PDF but I do believe it is way over my head (that doesn't say much most things are) lol but you make your own clothes and great ones at that you can probably handle it ...I am buying the fur ....Thanks so much for posting your pictures of the fur....I am off to buy some now.....Trish
