I didn't have a problem with finishing the survey, but, I thought PC+ membership already did most of the options they asked about?
And I agree with the limitations on education level as I have an Associates, have no idea how 44 years work experience on top of that degree counts too.
I did like the option of ability of gifting, whatever they called it, to someone else. Extra textures, wouldn't that need a buy-in with the PA to do the additional work for less returns?
DAZ I am happy with PC+. If you are going to enhance it, fine. But scrap it and bring in something at a higher cost?
Mary
@McGyver, I have not laughed that hard in ages, Thanks!

(would need an animated laughing smiley here). I'm bookmarking this thread for your post only
.
Strange survey, in question 34: Of the items below, please choose which items if any you’d be willing to pay for, I had to choose all of the options even though it says:" if any ". Seams to me that the result of this won't be very correct when it forces you to select options you are not interested in, don't understand what's the point. On a more positive note: I did appreciate to list what would make my shopping experience better
: less sales bugs, faster customer service, always put an end date/hour of ordinary and flash sales. I could add also the ability to let you choose your own pro and starter bundles, I have not bought such a bundle in a very long time, but that's not beacause I don't want to, it's beacause there are not any or only one or two items in them that I like. Also purchases made with store credit should count as much when it comes to rewards. I would rather they take away giftcard sales if it means that they would count as much as with creditcards.
On an even more positive note I do appreciate the PC+ membership with the discounted price, cupons and freebies, it's awesome as it is
. Even more of all thoose things would be better obviously but it good as it is.
I wasn't suggesting that... I'm asking, if theres a chunk of people who just have so much content they dont know what do with - and as a result feel the membership is of little/no use to them any more - is there anything outside of merely low cost content that would be of benefit?
An extra day or two rendering time every week that aren't in the calendar?
Oh, this will be good, let's keep it simple:
Give a month free PC status, without the cupons, just to let people see the PC+ forums, where:
I'm a member of the PC+ primarily to get discounts on DO's (like the core characters). As for the rest of it, it bothers me that it's been filled up with OLD RDNA stuff for the Generation 4 (and even older) figures that I haven't used in years and years, even when I was still using Poser. If it weren't for the extra discounts on other stuff (and the monthly coupons), I would never bother because 9 times out of 10 I don't want the stuff in the PC anyway most of the time. There are exceptions. But for the most part, I feel like it's a dumping ground for old, old stuff and things that wouldn't sell otherwise. And like scorpio, I don't want most of the stuff because it's very female-centric (which has gotten much, much WORSE in recent years) and I use mostly males. I DO like all the sci-fi stuff however.
FWIW, I couldn't care less about an avatar badge ;).
Laurie
Oh, it's of use, surely. Just not FOR the stuff in the PC so much as the discounts elsewhere. LOL. I would LOVE the ability to pick my own bundle items. That would be fantastic. LOL
Oh, and yes...I DO have so much content I don't know what to do with it all. I have stuff that I forgot I've even bought. But after 20 years of this, I think that can be expected :P

Daz Deals just notified me of "Best Daz Prices" on a long list PC+ Generation 3 things. Were those just converted to PC+? If so, I think this is the kind of thing that AllenArt is talking about.
I'm getting to the point where there is very little new stuff I can make use of, and I own most of what I can use that I want (and I love the weird and old, so there's little that didn't hit that list!). Fastgrab has been pretty solidly G8 stuff, so that's been useless to me for a couple of months, now... it's pretty hard to use the coupons each month... yes, I'm getting close to where the break-even point of paying full price for the occasional new thing is cheaper than having a membership. What can Daz do to change that? Probably not much; the things I want and am prepared to keep paying for are simply not being produced here, nor do I expect that to change. Daz's business model does not include continuing offerings for previous models (totally understandable from a content provider, nudging people continuously on to the new thing is better business) and I am not interested in messing up my workflow by trying to re-gear to the new. The parting of the ways, however, will be amicable - shopping here has been fun, Daz is still my program of choice, and thanks to the older content being intermittently extremely affordable, I have a great collection from which to launch any vision I might have. :-) When I head to greener pastures, it will not be with bitterness.
Things I like now - weekly freebie, low cost items in a wide variety of genres. PC+ hair and vehicles will usually get my attention, as well as Jack's props/sets.
Things I'd like to see - well, lack of documentation is an issue, so tutorials / webinars would be nice. There could be an incentive for PC+ members (eg free, reduced price, or early access) but should be available to all Daz customers.
Things I'm not interested in - forum tags/icons, exclusive content/models/texture sets/colours etc. The PA tools are already a divisive issue in the community, I'm not sure you should go down the road of making more exclusive things.
Why I might not renew - I've been a Daz customer since 2003, and a PC member for a big chunk of that. I'm in the UK, the exchange rate collapse of the pound has made it more expensive to shop at US based digital stores. Brexit uncertainty and all that. Last year I bought an annual membership at the end of October at 50% discount (easy decision!), I'm holding out to renew at a similar rate - currently 30% discount is being offered. I'm sorry if that sounds rather cut-throat. I work a job in engineering, and I like being able to help support artists in their careers by buying here. But in a limited spend situation - and with Black Friday just around the corner - if the right deal isn't on offer here I may decide to upgrade some music software plugins instead.
e.t.a - I'm on a Mac, so adding Windows-only features to Studio is going to drive me away.
Hope this helps.
I think that's probably a flash sale.
Really? On Generation 3 stuff for $1.99? There isn't any Flash Sale banner that I see. Are you seeing a banner ad?
Just to calrify, this is M3, V3 stuff, not Genesis 3 stuff.
Intersting survey. So when is Daz Studio going to become a subsription ?
Probably never.
I still really enjoy PC+, but this may be an idea to keep people around who are no longer finding value in it. Daz studio already has the ability to distribute files with drm. Here's a crazy idea, but what if you expanded that to PC+,and offer a selection of premium products on a weekly / biweekly "Loan" basis. So for two weeks, I can use Victoria 8 and a few other items for free. I download her through Daz connect, create a few scenes and at the end of the 2 weeks another product come up, and victoria "expires." That will give exposure to lesser-known content, we get to experience products that we wouldn't otherwise use, and we may then end up liking it and buying it. You could also offer permanent "Loan" items- such as the old 1.99 items, that you can use as long as you are subscribed to PC+. Sometimes I may need a sheep for a scene, for example, and don't necessarily want to buy it, as it's a once-off render. It would be nice to have access to these items when I need them.
Those are some good ideas.
I tried taking the survey last night and it never went through. I tried again this morning. Luckily, the page remembered all my answers so I didn't have to go back through it. It finally went through after hitting the done button about three times.
The biweekly loan idea would be neat, especially if it offer a discount during/after the loan period so that if you decided you liked it, you could go ahead and purchase it at a discount.
That said, I'm not sure how feasible it would be since it would have to create a limited time access thing.
Not to mention require the use of Daz Connect. I never tried to move from DIM to Connect, but many who did have reported ongoing issues here in the forums. Imagine "borrowing" content for two weeks, and not being able to use it due to technical difficulties with the Connect system.
I was really happy to get the survey! The biggest thing for me, which I talked about a little in the last question, is how hard it is to recommend Daz Studio to other people. The fact that the software is free isn't really much of a selling point for folks in my circles; they really quickly see that the gap between what they would want to create and their content library budget seems insurmountable. Because of that, awareness of the software and community are pretty limited--some of them know about Poser because they remember it as an internet nostalgia thing, but not about Daz Studio or how far technology has advanced.
It would be awesome if PC+ users had the ability to give away a certain number of monthly codes for discounts or for the free items.
Well before my time in the PC+, members were given sneak peeks of upcoming products. If I remember comments I've read correctly, those were things like upcoming base figures. During March Madness, members got to vote on what things they'd like to see get a really mad discount.
Members who remember that era can point out other features they really liked.
The point I want to make is the club used to be more interactive, between members and Daz. More fun. Make being a member fun again.
For example, shopping here used to be a big thrill, when discounts from one sale stacked with discounts of another. I'm sure a lot of people spent more than they originally intended when those glitches appeared. I miss that excitement. I know those glitches were not in the best interest of the PAs and I don't really want ot go back to unintended glitches.
But if Daz could somehow find a way to bring back that excitement for members—maybe the occasional "Easter egg," unadvertised specials that members could stumble onto, and then share with other members…?
I'd also love to see: a member's only thread on the ongoing creation of Daz Cat 8, (I hope Daz is going to give us a Daz Cat 8,) like another site does for their animals; More input on themed bundles; Short 1-3 question surveys with the results posted in the thread, (598 people responded: Question 1: 45% yes, 42% No, 13% Undecided. Etc.;)
Don't mess with the savings, but make it feel more like an private insiders club.
That's my 2 cents, anyway.
No, they didn't ask about changing to a subscription model. It was about what perks Daz customers would say were worth paying for. I personally wouldn't want anything that distracts from my avatar's streamlined appearance, so the whole thing is making me very nervous.
Interesting comments on Daz Connect.. thanks.
The main issue has been scripts that handle a call to another scripts or content files in a way that breaks with the nested isntall location - but that has always been avoidable. The other issue is old ExP stuff, where everything has to be in the same folder not split across one folder per product, but that isn't available through Connect anyway.
That would definitely be nice. Or a code that allowed them to choose one free Pro bundle (G3 or G8 to give a feel for the newer stuff) of their choice, that way they would have a little more range to play with things before devoting a bunch of money. Or a code that made said bundle cheaper, such as $25 or less.
I know I didn't really do much with Daz until I got a hold of the Victoria 4 and Michael 4 morphs and creature creator bundles for around $20 total (there was some really nice sale going on at the time). Made for a nice entry point (for better or worse, considering that now I'm buying Gen 8 and Gen 3 stuff).
Either way, something like that would give a cohesive theme for new users to try out, and then the usual freebies gives a bit more flexibility in terms of other options while they're still deciding if they want to dive deeper.

For me, though, the main thing I like about PC+ is the discounts and the coupon codes. I'm not interested in exclusivity, though.
PC membership pays for itself very quickly if not in the first order one makes so that's a good perk to keep.
Love coupons which cover a fair chunk of the price on items as well. Not too crazy about the $18 min. first but whatever ... those type of coupons don't necessarily get used. The more products we have to use, the more advertizing the company has, yes.
I really don't like "gimmicky" sales although at this point I've pretty given up that said system will ever change here. I like straight forward sales, not having to guess which page to choose items A from in order to get items B on sale ... one ends up with a lot of junk [I mean content] they'll never use simply because buying items A resulted in significant price reductions for items B. With the straight forward sales, if an item really didn't pan out, one could make a simple return. Not with gimmicky sales of course because returning the wrong item, could end up with a significant increase in how much money is going to be spent in here ;-)
I was thinking the ratings were 1-10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. That being said, most would have rated about 5. I do not need an avatar either. A customer is a customer and all should be treated fairly by customer service which AFAIK is what is done, no reason to change that.
Once upon a time there was some additional content available to members only ... accessed via the membership forum ... those were nice perks.
Those two Collective 3D houses in the PC+ for the day would have paid for my 3 months alone if I joined but again it simply is the case I don't have the money right now for houses or memberships, I cannot buy DAZ stuff every week, I often do though and it needs to stop, membership just makes me feel more obligated to.
Obviously this demonstrates it works
if they change it to be less tempting it is actually a good thing for me so I won't argue
I tried that. I had a '4' selected and picked '4' for anothe - and the first item no longer had a number.
Fair enough. I wish Daz had posed that question, given me some time to consider, and then asked about -that-.
Off the cuff, I'd say, an improved content manager. Content that isn't like content I already have. Maybe that $6 off $18 coupon could be improved. Some months I don't even use it because nothing I really want qualifies for it, and even if it did if I have to buy the item at full price, it's only 33% off anyway, which is worse than most sales. Making the coupons more stackable would sure be nice.
