"simply because of my own personal financial situation, and that I am not US based, and the US dollar is worth about 60c Aussie." - jakiblue
Same or worse condition. My currency condition is multiple times less value than your Aussie. By the way though in my country 1.99 is enough for one month internet (more than 40GB 4G internet) even though many people cannot afford it. By the way some people also earning almost or more than million dollar monthly salary here.
I suggest weekly or monthly PC for the day items and build your own bundle items.
My initial concern with making 'PC for a day' a regular thing, is you then fall into that trap where it's normal. So then what makes the PC anniversary special?
Much like now, where we see comments like 'the PA sale isn't special any more' as deeper discounts are more frequent than they used to be. So you can take the special sauce from sales and spread it around, sure.. but then where do you go during the sales when you get cries of 'the discounts should be bigger than they usually are!'
Build in some gimmicks for the sale would not necessarily help either. Not everyone likes the flash sales or the buy this to get that sales.
Another option could be deliver different tiers of products offered. Let's say the regular PC+ for a day focuses on older products and the Sale festivals focuses on newer products. Might not be economically feasible for DAZ though.
I did the survey. Took over 2 minutes. Didn't get $5 coupon. Anyone get their coupon?
People will always cry. Even if everything is free then people will cry for download speed they are not getting. But it is the benefit that will keep people interested to something and keep visit everytime.
I think few selected items every week or month will keep people like me interested. Also not everyone will get benefit only PC+ members.
I haven't gotten my $5 yet. But it's still early IMO. They may be waiting for everyone in that batch to complete the survey. Or iron out the kinks.
I agree. It is one of the features of the PC+ Anniversary that I like the most. If some sort of variation was felt to be needed, may add one 'PC for the Week', that is in our Wednesday newsletter.
Isn't PC for a day only an anniversary thing? It's one of my favorite features, too. But yes, if it happens all the time, it soon won't be special any more.
Can't please everyone. What about reduction? culling? It is the middle way (so we have more current/updated contents suitable for Daz 4.10+).
Personally I'd prefer not to see anything culled, especially since so many things can be converted with a bit of work. Or works well in the background.
That said, if there was an easier way to filter out just the older stuff, or maybe to move it to it's own page, that might be nice.
Just got the email with the coupon
*$5 can only be used for a Daz Original, excludes New Releases, PC+ Items, Gift Cards & PC+ Memberships. Use coupon code at checkout. Coupon code expires October 29th, 2019
Enjoy your coupon, as long as you don't use it on anything you want to buy during the sale.
I quit the Platinum Club back when the store and forums changed software a number of years ago (probably around 2013)... there were a number of stupid PC issues which came about and took a while to be dealt with and I decided to wait for the problem to be fixed or addressed and by the time it appeared they were fixed, I realized I didn't really buy that much stuff that the savings were really worth it.
My feeling was DAZ missed a big opportunity back then to get back a bunch of former PC members who felt screwed over by those issues and difficulties... if they had offered a "Hey, sorry about the inconveniences or screw ups" discount to get those members back. But that's none of my business and that was made clear back then.
But on a happier note, I've saved money and felt less compelled to spend on stuff that I might not use, just because it was slightly cheaper... it takes forever, but occasionally the things on my wish list (most of it is old stuff) have come on sale and when they do I get them... over time I deleted a bunch of stuff there too because it was clear those things were never going on sale either... so more money saved because I forget them.
I was thinking (from a completely self-serving POV) that they should run more sales that provide things in a useful sequence - themed sales. I will not buy Yuzuru 8, because I don't own any G8 clothes, G8 morphs, or things that allow clothes to fit a G8. At some point, if they created nudge-you-forward bundles or themed sales, hold-outs like me might dip their toes in ;-) Not to say there are many of us, but it is an example of how a non-mega themed sale could work.
I don't like the idea of culling - but I don't also understand how someone can look at a cool prop and go, 'Meh! It's old!' I use a million bits & bobs in my work, and I literally wouldn't shop here if it wasn't for the neat, old, and reasonably-priced things I pick up here on a pretty regular basis. I buy many things 'on spec', far more than I buy things for a specific and immediate purpose.
I got my $5.00 coupon for the survey, but when I tried it on https://www.daz3d.com/dine-on-the-orient (which is not new and not PC) alone in my cart, I get a "Coupon code...not valid".
I will wait a little, and see if it comes good.
That's not a DAZ Originnal - my coupon says it can be used "for a DAZ Original, excludes New Releases, PC+ Itmes, Gift Cards & PC+ Memberships".
On the down side - mine doesn't seem to work anyway. I've tried three different DOs of various ages (even a Genesis 2 item) but no deal. Nothing else in the cart, items prices varied from $6-ish to $14
I just tried it on an item that is definitely not new, not PC+ and definitely DO. Doesn't work

I tried it on multiple Daz Original items and it wasn't valid for any of them.
Neither working here, despite clearly usinf DO products.
Looks like it (or they got the code wrong in the email?) Well at least it's supposed to last until the 29th of October, so a few days for them to fix it.
Sorry, but the coupon can ONLY be used on a DO, according to the email.
I've tried several DO items and a Pro Bundle, and it isn't working on anything :/
Nope. Not working on anything for me either. Last tried it on:
https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-lab
and that was a No Go.

Done.
Can you please confirm that you have received the code from filling out the survey?
