It looks like I cannot use the coupon I found because the PC membership renewed by itself and took most of my funds. Trying to contact support now but I doubt they will get back to me in time.
saw a football commercial
well it was 2 football players making cupcakes.
important business decisions like cupcake frostings colors.
been craving cupcake ever since.
Good point. The mortgage is in my parent's name though. I forgot to mention that my parents are paying the bills. Somebody wants to buy my parent's unused land that is in Florida. The land only has trees. They should sell the land because we haven't visited in 25 years or so. I think my dad paid $50,000 or so for the vacent lot? Maybe $100,000 at the most? The value must have gone up by now. My dad doesn't feel like building a house and moving all the way to Florida any more. He doesn't even want to drive a car to the shopping center to buy grocereies. I guess he is too tired or lazy.
...
Actually the NFL draft happens in about three weeks, so yeah, a long way to go.
And because I'd talked myself out of an expensive trip to Pittsburgh I rewarded myself with permission to visit another on-line auction.
Picked up a nice crystal of Aquamarine for a tiny fraction of the price of the trip.
I had to fight someone for it but I wasn't going to let him have it. Grrrr.... Fastest bidding finger in the East.
When it is something that I absolutely must have I then have a serious chat with myself and then enter the highest bid I think I can afford and then I post my bid at about 30seconds (or sometimes even less) before bidding ends.
Ok if it is really really collectable then others do the same and I lose out, but I have got a couple or 3 bargains that way and it does stop me getting suckered into bidding more than I can really afford.
I wonder what the keep me logged in checkbox does? Its not self explanatory
...seriously major Complaint:.
I just checked my bank account and saw that the deposit for my Social Security benefits was quite a bit less than it should be. I discovered this also happened with the March payment (I was wondering why my account was so low at the end of this past month). It appears that likely, they are once again deducting Medicare premiums and fees (148$ and change each month coming to nearly a 300$ shortfall in total for the two months). I received nothing from the SSA that my benefits were being changed or that Medicare charges were being deducted again.
When I contacted our local state health plan office (which is covering the Medicare premiums and fees) they mentioned that my coverage with them had not lapsed and I should be getting the full SS benefit due me, so somewhere in the SSA office someone royally messed up.
The real annoying downside of this is trying to get into contact with the SSA as with staff reductions, hold time on the phone is anywhere for 45 min to an hour on average. To go to their office means subjecting oneself to TSA like-indignity and then sitting there most of the day before being able to talk to a representative.
_______________
Update:
Well finally was able to talk to an SSA rep and discovered the 147.30$ is a garnishment for student loans. What!?
I had those all paid off before I left my last job. I never received the form with the deduction for loan interest for the 2012 or 2013 tax years. I also received no communications about this for nearly six years at any of the addresses I was at. I didn't have my Unemployment garnished. I Didn't have my wages for the the time I worked at the call centre garnished. I didn't have the last two year's worth of Social Security benefits garnished....until last month. The worst part the amount they are deducting is effectively more than twice what I was paying when I was still working (I was making about 2.5 times what my monthly SS benefit is yet the total monthly amount they are now taking out is higher).
So I have to call them tomorrow to get this straightened out.
Even if I still did owe anything (which I do not), I can't believe they would be so underhanded and cruel as to take money from someone like myself who is already in a hardship situation and struggling to make it month to month and on top of it do it behind my back like this with no notification.. Crikey that was decades ago and I never even finished my degree.
Really not in a good mood right now.
frustrated. need to order office supplies. won't let me order from amazon. whats the point of making me order rayblock. they dont the items i want. amazon is cheaper, ships faster, and has a bigger catalog. inkjet cartridge on amazon like twelve bucks. thirty on rayblock. it doesn't make sense. it's l;ike fighting an army of robots with a bow and arrow.
Major complaint!
But if you had them all paid off then surely it's matter of throwing the right paperwork at them? And "no", I didn't call you Shirley.
(Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. When I was growing up there was a big straping handsome Swedish guy in our town, a friend of my father's, whose real first name was Shirley.
No, really! Super handsome Scandanavian guy, straight as a die, a man's man, and I never ever linked his name with anything female. He was just "Shirley" and that's all that was ever thought of it and everybody in town called him that. It wasn't until years later that I heard that joke from the movie "Airplane" that I ever made the connection.)
Complaint: Well, after crowing yesterday about how good the road westward toward the city was, today I hear all this noise outside my window, down on the road and see that they've blocked off one lane again.
I had to make an unscheduled trip uptown today so I observed what they were doing to the road. Apparently they've burned and cut back thorns and scrub brush and little trees along the hillside outside of town and are grading and repairing the roadside berm and ditches. Then later in the day I had to make an infrequent trip southward from my town and discovered that the south road didn't fare so well during the winter and it's a good thing I wasn't carrying a keg of beer or nitroglycerin.
Non-complaint: Several months ago my monitor on my primary computer suddenly died. Arghhh...
But I had a spare that I stole from my secondary computer, and I retired the malfunctioning one to the kitchen closet. I hated to think about discarding it because it was a nice older monitor 1080P, metal frame, lots of tilt adjustment, deeply curved stand designed to let me park my keyboard directly under the monitor when not in use. Yeah it was over 8 years old but still worked great up until it died. So it sat for many months sleeping in the closet. Today I took it to the trash transfer station to get rid of it and discovered that what used to be free disposal is now $15 per monitor or TV, regardless of size. I said "to hell with that, I'll store it till I die". But after I got home I wondered if there was any repair possible on the monitor so I made that southerly trip (mentioned above) to the nearest PC hardware repair people and asked. She did a couple tests on it and said, "well, it is working but your backlighting is dead, so depending on what's broke in the backlighting circuits I might be able to fix it." Yay! I may get my old friend back to life.
So, in the next few days I'll know if it's worth throwing money at.
If it's not salvageable, ask if the shop can get rid of it for you. Those places usually have a lot of stuff to get rid of, and might have a deal with a recycling company for bulk rates.
Or...do you have a Staples near you? You can take your old tech to them for recycling.

what is happening. utoob copy paste links, i now have to unlink for it to show?
Yeah, she said their recycle company is tickled pink when she has monitors to give them. So, since I had yet another old monitor (worked but was really old, low resolution) with me that was going to be trashed, I let her have the low res one and she can have the 1080P one if it turns out to be unfixable for a reasonable cost.
Nope, no Staples store within 60 miles but we do have an "Office Max" though.
...update,
Well, called the DOE this morning and in spite of twelve years of garnishments (180$ per month which comes to about 26,000$ for an initial balance of around 18,000$ [which included fees, penalties, interest, etc] that was stated in the assessment letter they sent me years ago) they still claimed I owed them money. Letsee they took an extra 8,000$ over what I initially owed them and yet I still have to pay more. Something in that math doesn't quite make sense even knowing they were still charging interest while I was paying it back through a payroll deduction, it was minimal, certainly not 8,000$ worth. Also as I mentioned, for the last tax year cycle before I lost my job I did not receive the form from them stating how much interest I could deduct form my taxes (the last one I received was for a paltry amount) which meant the obligation on my end was fulfilled.
So they told me they have a hardship form that I can fill out and send back to them. I had that sent to me, however when i asked will these deductions be "frozen" until action is taken on the form (which could take up to three months), they said no, the deductions would not only continue, and even if they ruled in favour of the hardship appeal, I would not receive a refund for the any of the deductions they already made from my SS benefits. A total racket if you ask me.
I left a message at the office of one of my Senators who is on several important related committees/subcommittees (including Education) about this. Taking this to the next level.
Watching ant man again.
ant-tonii Banderas. ant-tony. Ulyses s grr-ant
The costumer service office for transit closed at 3 PM. I didn't see the time posted on their website. Now I need to return to the office next week. It might rain on Friday.
I thought they were gone. The one near us went away. Glad you can give the old tech to you shop without paying, though!

Office Max merged with OfficeDepot. The only difference I saw to my local OfficeMax store was that my OfficeMax "points" discount card became even more complicated and less useful under the new rules so I stopped using it. Which, I think, was their goal.
About the only thing I use Office Max for now is printer ink, printer paper (because it's usually an emergency when I need them), and thumbdrives when they're on sale. If want to drool over new computers I drive 60 miles to Erie, PA and go to BestBuy. If I want to buy small spiral bound notepads I get a pack of 4 for 99 cents at the DollarStore instead of $5 at OfficeMax. Anything else I need from an office supply store I get from Amazon trying to justify the monthly price of being a member of "Amazon Prime".
I think the last big thing I bought from OfficeMax was my leather(like) office chair three years ago and it's already developing skin cracks and the foam is losing its squish.
Much like me.
...I cancelled my Prime membership as I don't buy that much online from them to warrant paying 13$ a month. I get a better value with my quarterly PC+ membership than I do from Amazon Prime. Just the 5 freebies alone each month more than pay back for it, and then there's the special discounts on DO items and during sales.
Yeah I definitely need a new chair, the wooden one with the pillow on top just isn't working well anymore. Need to go get a Megabucks ticket as that will be the only way now that I could afford one and the last couple items I need to finish out my home workstation network.
If it wasn't for the fact that in addition to the possibility of free or free 2-day delivery of items, I also get access to Amazon's video streaming service along with my "Prime" membership, I'd go back to bundling my purchases to reach the magic dollar amount to qualify for free shipping. But that was a pain and I tended to buy things I didn't really need, just to get to the magic number.
Buying things at on-line auctions makes me appreciate Amazon's (and NewEgg's, and others) free shipping options because the raw cost of shipping things that are not a standard sized flat letter just sucks royal swamp water.
(eg: that 20 ct Aquamarine crystal the size of my little finger tip that I got at auction for $10 a couple days ago cost $15 to ship.)
browsing the amazon au site for maltesers. available in party buckets
I wonder if Anthony Stark would make a great president.
Non-complaint: The schedule of events for Chautauqua institution https://chq.org this summer is up! Yay!

Not to mention all the lesser known pieces preceeding the major presentations each evening and the collaborations that the orchestra does with the Chautauqua Opera company, and the free 4th of July concert, and the several "Pops" concerts during the summer. They're busy people!
Is there such a thing as bandaids that actually stick anymore? I don’t even know why I bother, they fall off in a few minutes anyway...
I have all sorts of bandaids, a whole drawer full... the worst are the “Athletic/Sports” and the “Waterproof”... it’s not actually the bandaid itself, but the crappy adhesive... there literally is no point to a waterproof bandaid or super tough sports bandaid if the adhesive gives out or doesn’t stick to skin.
One package has a diagram calling out the features of the product, pointing to the breathable material, it’s super strong construction and how impervious it is to dirt... but neglects to mention Post-It adhesive is stronger.
I’ve taken to cutting out the pad and using black duct tape in place of the stupid tape part with it’s fake adhesive.
To paraphrase a well known Christmas letter: "Yes Virginia, there is a band-aid that sticks". I discovered them while ripping the skin from my arm after I decided that my wound had healed sometime in the previous 10 days. I'll look through my overfull medicine cabinet and in the cabinet under the bathroom sink for the tenacious plasters. Stand by...
OK, I'm baaack... I sort of remember that they were fabric backed and stuck like glue, literally painful to pull off but excellent for exfoliating skin and depiliating hair. The only fabric backed plasters I found in my confused array of boxes and brands and mixed sizes is a few labeled "Johnson & Johnson "Band-Aid" in a metal box labeled "Flexible Fabric", and on the back of the can it claims "Unique long-lasting adhesive" and "won't stick to wound" (but says nothing about not removing the surrounding hair and skin). Hope this helps.
No! He's fictional!

Serious complaint. There is too much chocolate syrup and not enough ice cream in my cup.
