I used my Linwelly avatar to explain about the Dazinations and it went on until I got to this image which I think turned out rather nice (yay! try following your own advice leads to something ...)

Confidence and doubt, as I said over there, this seems to be a recurring topic for me that Sometimes I am proud of what I do and believe I can achieve a lot more with my work, but then just around the corner ( as in the case right behind) doubt is lurking waiting for the moment to crush down on me making me move back into the snail house.
I guess I just have to get out every time it happens again
Now for new stuff I got and other stuff I already have for some time but never used, lots of it still from PA sale and PC anniversary ( I got so many good stuff with the PC for a day deals :D)
OK Osos ammonites, I just had to get and they are every bit as cool as they look in the promos, kudo to you @Osos3D
Though I mistreated this one here a bit, squished'em flat it became a nice catch for Binah, who's sporting the new shaved sidedreads, which requires a huge amount of space but they come with loads of nice options.
I never used the Island house before either, which si a pity its great.
On a different note, from now on the images I will upload here and as well over on dA won't be as large and as high in resolution as I make them. I had several situations of copiright infringements lately. I'd loathe to cover my images with watermarks...
Maybe as a word of warning to others as well they took my Froggy here from the DAZ gallery meh!

Never happened to me, but it is why I only upload small size and often use 'watermarks'. I know my stuff isn't good or interesting enough to steal, but I am very possessive about it.
Very nice:) And I can relate to what you say, not so much with teh renders I make, since it's purely recreational, don't consider myself an artist, but with what I do for a living (music producer and composer, musician), everytime I release some new material I get that feeling, but have learned to live with it and have faith in myself, and if nobody likes it...that's fine, atleast I had fun doing it:D

Coming from you that's saying something. You've always struck me as very meticulous in your work and it shows. I hesitate to even comment at topics like yours where-- at a certain level-- I will need another 5 - 10 years experience! Maybe moments of doubt is what keeps us humble and makes us human?

Sorry that happened. Theft like that is the mark of a craven, hollow individuals who are pathetic in my opinion. On the bright side though (if there is one) your images are at a level where they are worth stealing? Thieves don't steal things that are mundane, or in the States, we might say "a dime a dozen."
Full circle then. The quality of your work is very intimidating! It's also inspiring. "I want to be able to do that!"

Maybe I feel so strongly this way at the moment because I'm about to turn this into my job, quit my dayjob end of last year and try to be a pro from now on. As I never really learned the trade (I'm a trained biologist) and kind of a late bloomer, there is often that nagging feeling of not being good anough to compare to the pros who learned it.
But that is what I want to do and now is the best time for trying I will ever have. I wanted to quit the other job anyway so before I get to the mill to work something else I don't really want here I am. I hope I succeed, but if not it won't be a desaster.
I think we all struggle with doubt. People say such nice things about my work but in the back of my mind I'm thinking Maybe they are just being nice....Its funny this topic has come up because I've realized that my fear of failure and my doubt have definitely been holding me back from things I want to do. I have been working on believing what people say about my work and also on putting myself out there. I almost turned down the opportunity to do that webinar, out of fear. When I chose to do it anyway, it was a huge turning point for me, not just as far as my art goes but my life as well. The fear still creeps in, but now, I can remind myself that its not the truth.
And your work is quite good!
Theives unfortunately will always be around, all we can do is the best we can to slow them down.
I realize I'm a stranger offering advice out of the blue, but I'll share advice given to me after I gave up on art to have a secure career way back when and have only recently taken it up again after a long time away:
Practice a little patience. ... every day you will improve, just by doing. Find a Support Group You Trust (You seem to have fans here for a start)
Think of your art as a journey, not a destination. ... (see above) Focus on the proccess not the failures.
Always be learning. ... Self-confidence comes when you prove to yourself that you can do it.
Don't compare your art. ...You have an original style, you don't have a need to perfect someone else's style. Understand you are the expert of your art, and be authentic. Compare yourself to yourself.
Don't give up. Remember, reaching confidence is a lifelong process

Ok I've been experimenting a bit more intense with post work lately and here is one I wanted to show. I chose one which is rather boring in the original version and while its still not a masterpiece I'm pretty happy with the result. still thinking of adding some sparklies or fairy dust stuff though.

Really just checking in because render-- esp her eyes-- reminds me of award winning photo of Afghan girl on cover of National Geographic. She had striking green eyes that we just don’t see in the states. Your render has that same ‘makes you look twice’ quality about it. : )
Thanks a lot Tynkere, if I could still make money with what I once learned (Biology) I would, but having kids in Germany still puts a woman on a dead end jobwise. On the other hand I'm in the lucky position to experiment a bit without risking too much. Still got to make money with it though, but you never know when you never try.
I know the photo, and it always impressed me, I've tried to catch that feeling for the image and the reactions (mostly over at dA) tell me that it worked. But honestly a lot is due to that wonderful skin which is so natural with so many details, it makes it much easier to get this close to photoreal.
I had a little fun with SOF1A, render is much too grainy, will have to rerender for a longer time
she's fun futuristic and unconventional
I actuallly like the grain in this it kind of adds a grittiness to the scene that works.
Thanks @IceDragonArt I know what you mean, this time it turned out rather ok because the grittiness was not so easy to see on the main figure, so that works.
On a different topic, I just found out, that I totally forgot about the visual narrative webinar on Sunday.. that what you get for being sick for over two weeks.. meh, stupid cough doesn't go away
