That's good, as far as I'm concerned. I need some time to actually use the things I've bought… over the past five months!

And what starts in four, possibly three weeks? Here's a hint: "MM"

Save your money till then, maybe?

It's not even Febr-- Sheesh, it is... :D

  • I am so terribly tempted by this sale, it is possibly the best deal ever

    but

I see by Ati's plugin I hit the 20K mark and must stop, I want to save up for other more vital real world stuff and need to be really hard on myself

its all so very tantalising devil

Whilst the sale is good, it does seem odd that it is set up in a way where it only encourages you to buy once. Particularly strange for a two day sale, what are we supposed to do on day 2!

I can understand why the $30 of free DOs is a one time thing, but I am surprised there isn't a way to trigger the extra 20% off. Otherwise the sale is just a straight 50% off, not bad, but nothing special by recent standards. The main advantage is that it covers the whole store, giving people the option to pick up from PAs whose stores are rarely on sale.

Yesterday RiverSoft Art, Sickleyield and a few other PAs were 60% instead of 50% off, but even that deal is not on today.

I was astonished yesterday to have such a nice sale on the last day of the month, as I hadn't used my PC+ PA coupon, and so wasn't expecting to. smiley

I got a $101 gift card, three Genesis 8 base figures, and a couple of PA items from my wishlist for $95... :)

If you bought a GC yesterday at a discount, anything you purchase today with the GC/Store Credit has effectively the same discount.

For example, you buy a gift card with a 20% discount yesterday. Today you buy a PA product that is regularly $19.95. The price in your cart is $9.98. You now pay for that product with your discounted credit, making the actual cost to you $7.98.

Now, if Daz gave us a way to trigger the 20% discount again, and that $19.95 product discounts to $7.98 in your cart, using your store credit, the actual cost to you would be $6.38. Good for you and me, yes, but not so good for Daz and the PA.

As for what to do on Day 2…? Take a deep breath and enjoy the freedom of walking away from the computer for a few hours without fear you'll miss out on a great deal at Daz. Or do like I'm doing, and use the sale-frenzy-respite to do some scene creation and rendering.
    wink

To be honest, I wish Daz would go back to the every other day promo schedule they had first quarter 2015. (I assume that was the norm for non-event promos before then, but I started in the midst of the 2014 PA Festival.) If there are more products, just give us more new releases per promo. It's nice having a day in between where we can play with our new toys.

Whilst that is true, for those of us that already had store credit we had purchased at 20% or more off (GC discount was 30% at the start of december) then the logic follows that anything we bought already was 20% (or more) off, and so we are better off waiting for a flash sale where the discount is the usual 60% (effectively 68% with store credit). The only thing that made this sale as good as a normal flash sale was the extra  20%, but you only get that once.

  • I saw the title of this topic during the 48 hour sale and thought "Well, sure, but what are the chances the stuff on my wishlist from both Stonemason and Zeddicuss ever go on sale again soon" and stocked up...so of course today they both have even bigger sales, LOL!

Does the "Free Micheal and Victoria 4 content" sale require a new release from its page to trigger its deals ?

I tried it on other new releases and they didnt work, but I havnt done an exhaustive test

    yes

  • I was able to get it with items from a few days ago. Just not PC+ items.

The sticky bit for me is that there's items in it that I bought in the GC sale a few days ago.  Filing a price change complaint is complicated though.  They fell under the "and $30 off" part.  So I didn't technically pay money for them then either, just opportunity cost on other things I could have bought.

Yep. It seems to work with new release sthat meet the qualifier of being over $5

Even PC+ items that ARE over $5, like the Ship Building Blocks, don't trigger it.

Checked - DO items, at around $7.50, don't trigger it either.  You need an independent item.  The cheapest for those looks to be $10.47, so while the sale looks great in theory, you've got a $21 buy-in before it gets good.

It works with this $8.80 DO: https://www.daz3d.com/more-rust--iray-shaders

They accepted my estimate with no problems.  Great service.

the Tasha sale today is way too focused on just Tasha. i don't buy chicks so not interested (and even then, what's so special about her? been there seen that, another glamour chick). howver there were 2-3 other new releases today that i wishlisted immediately (which doesn't happen very often) since i can use them with males too, and would probably have bought today too as i saw the banner 90% blah blah - plundering my last store credit.. if there were any of those super discounts going with them (yeah i saw the 51%) - like the usual formula "buy x new releases and get % on...". but ZILCH.

every single sales bargain today starts with "buy the Tasha 8 pro bundle" - there could have been some with "buy 2 or 3 new releases" too. not cool. ah well, money saved for today i guess

  • What bothers me most about Tasha is the same marketing strategy I keep complaining about which started sometime between the G3 & G8 debuts. For the longest time, Daz would offer the base model/s that you could buy solo or in starter and pro bundle offers, plus a handful of other characters that also had starter and pro bundle options. All the other named morph/texture characters of that generation were sold alone, but for less than a base model. There would be a few that were also available bundled with a hair and an outfit. Now the vast majority are put out like new models with prices to match -- $30+ for base, $60+ starter, $90+ - $100+ pro.  Whether it's something really different like Centaurs, Floyd and Edie, or just-another-supermodel.

Plus I just don't do glamour vampires.

  • Now that is does that, I can't add items to the cart or do anything else.

Logged out and logged back in. Nothing.

  • Fixed now after adding an item from fast grab.

Victoria 4 and Michael 4 were free, with add-on name characters as we have now., and the Genesis series has followed the same pattern. Before that the Name characters were new figures rather than add-ons anyway. I'm not, therefore, sure what you are thinking of here.

  • Little tipp for anybody making use of the Tasha 8 promotion. If you get the Pro Bundle together with at least 2 Add-Ons to make us of that extra discount be aware that those new releases also count for the "Free Victoria & Micheal 4 content" promotion. So don't forget to go to that promotion page as well and pick those 5 freebies. I chose clothing items which hopefully RiverSoft Arts converter will port over to G8F.

There's supposed to be an extra 20% discount on new items today if you buy or own Tasha 8. I purchased her pro bundle earlier today, but no discount in the cart for one of the new releases. Will check back later to see if the glitch is fixed.

I get this problem often when using the Chrome browser. Try using a different browser, as when I switch to Edge, things work better.

Add another item to the cart,   then when you try the cart won't be empty and you can delete the random item that you don't need or want.

You are not logged in properly for some reason.

Heads up, a lot of G3 pro bundles (all of them?) are currently at 70% in fast grabs. Pretty crazy. (Too bad I don't work with G3...)

If you mean you purchased Tasha 8 Pro after midnight Daz time, when the offer opened, then you may need to open a Sales Support ticket - as far as I know it's aimed at people who bought yesterday or buy today, with the bundle and the new items in the cart together.
