Pretty nice sale. $101 GC + Gen 8 pro bundle for $88.59.

    What ?

    $101 GC + $30 off on Daz Originals + 66% off = Pro Bundle at $17.23

You seem to be missing the additional 20% off the pro bundle when combining with GC. When you add both to cart your total will be $88.59.

Todays 48 hour PA sale is showing wildly fluctuating prices, and every time (so far) I refresh my cart, as I add something, prices change again. As an example, the Lee 8 Pro bundle dropped to less that $8 but a few minutes later jumped to over $80, and last time I checked it showed as about $22. EDIT: This is with a GC of over $100 in the cart at the same time.

Other item prices are changing, too, but not as much.

    Anyone else seeing this?

very stupid question (again, so sorry) - but just to make sure before i flip out of happiness for nothing: logically, if i buy say a 101$ GC and some items to benefit a max of the 48h sale, the 101$ WON'T BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS CART, BUT ONLY FOR NEXT PURCHASES, right?

    Go ahead and flip out.

If you buy a $101 GC, you get 20% off your entire cart. Including new releases.

(You can't use this GC for the other products in the cart, but they are getting discount.)

so i pay 80$ for the GC (value 101$) + items that show at 66% already now would be at... eh... ?%. and where do those 30$ off DO come into the calculation? in this cart already?

it also means that i have to pay NOW for all those -. and use my 101$ store credit later, right?

answering my own post: i just tried, and the 30$ come off NOW! YAY!

Can't decide if I want Lee or Mei Lin. Shame it is once per account or I would probably do it 3-4 times.

Having a sale where the discount applies to both the cart and the GC feels weird to process in my head.

Mentally I'm going "make up a huge cart now, it's an extra 20% off", but unless I'm completely off the mark, after I've used up my $30 of free DOs, I think after that point I can worry about a second cart later and buy it with the GC - I'm either buying it at an extra 20% off now (which has to be done with actual money, no pre discounted credit), or I'm buying it with credit that was 20% off, so I think it works out that the difference is just how much credit eventually ends up banked; the effective paid price for those items will be the same.

Yep. The way the sale is setup there isn't really much of any reason to do anything other than buy a $101 GC and enough stuff to use the $30 credit unless you anticipate needing a larger GC before they do another GC sale.

Yes. For future reference, nearly all promotions require everything to be in the cart at the same time. That's why this GC promo is so good. It isn't often Daz applies the discount to both the GC and the rest of the cart. Usually we buy the bare minimum product to trigger the discount on the GC, conver the GC to Store Credit, and then purchase the rest of the things we wanted with the new Store Credit, essentially getting the discount on those items.

    This promo is way better.

And here's a screenshot of my cart, to show the curious what I mean.

Take a look at my cart, in the screenshot above. There is only one Daz Original in there. The other products were all discounted at 60% to begin with due to the PA being in one of the other active promos. Their final discount in the cart comes to 68% with the additional 20%. You can do it either way. It all depends on how much money you want to spend now, and how much store credit you want left over for future purchases.

By the way, at this time, the PC+ Membership is also discounting in the cart, so $28 for a full year. It's been a long time since I've seen it that low or lower. If anyone is interested.

Look closer at my cart screenshot. The pro bundles showed up at $7.78 in my cart, with just one. That would be $88.58, give or take a penny, with nothing else in the cart.

Wouldn't be surprised as they have been releasing lots of new items over at Rendo, especially new clothing items. Maybe they are moving stores.

They're not on the Vendor page anymore, but most of their stuff was DO, and appears to be available still, just impossible to find unless you know the product name.

But not everything. I had the Sci Fi Greeble kits in my wislist and now they have disappeared. I hope Imaginary3D puts them up over at Rendo.

Yep. One of them was just put up in Fast Grab today but the price hadn't adjusted yet. I was just waiting for it to go to the 70% off FG price when it disappeared.

  • The 20% off works on PC+ items too, which is a rare nicety.

Ya I’m tempted to get the lee 8 pro bundle with this deal, I wasn’t expecting the low price of the bundle when I added it in the cart, there’s only a few tho fed I want from the bundle but with this it’s probably cheaper just to get the bundle

  • Aw - I got caught in the fine print.  You can only use the sale once.  I tried to go back and pick up items from other sales - no luck.

I'm assuming that's because of the $30 off DOs. As you can always use the GC/storecredit you just purchased to effectively get the extra 20% off anything you put in your next cart, it doesn't seem like it's about the 20% cart discount.

Nope, tried with and without a CG and no 20% off after a first purchase for me.

The point is that the effective price is the same if you use the gift card you purchased to buy more items. It was either 20% off in the cart (which you couldn't use previous credit on, because of the gift card*), or you're buying it with credit that was 20% off.

    * Normally I get frustrated by gift card sales, for this very reason. While I like the extra discount, it's really frustrating when the new gift card in the cart means you're forced either to not use previous credit (and thus the discount it was bought at), or ignore part of a sale deal. (Not a great incentiviser to get into the whole credit thing when it can be entirely unusable on entire carts. I get why it can't be used to buy more credit, because you'd just buy a chain of gift cards for infinite money, but stopping it being used on the cart entirely makes credit a bit of a liability).
Having a sale where having a gift card in the cart provided its own discount avoided that whole frustration.

Sorry, @FSMCDesigns, I wasn't trying to suggest it would/should work a second time, only that I think the reason it's a one-time offer is because of the $30 off DO being part of the offer.

I don’t know… I picked up Mabel Pro for less than eight bucks and added $101 to my existing store credit balance - all for $88. Hard for me not to think that was a good deal. Is it March yet?

No problem, just thought I would clarify as it kinda sounded like that. I wish I had spent more time sifting thru the items before I checked out, probably would have bought more, but had to run out and pick up the GF so was in a hurry.

I'm not saying this is a bad sale!

I'm saying that it's kind of frustrating to, for example, get a "Buy the Beefcake Pro Bundle and three add-on items, get 20% off a gift card" where you want to benefit from buying that bundle with the effective discount of your existing credit, but wouldn't mind topping up at the same time. (I had that headache when Mei Lin came out. Eventually, it put me off buying the bundle entirely, and I just grabbed the two or three bits I really wanted).
In this case, a sale where having the gift card in the cart was itself a discount in order to offset that whole affair was rather refreshing.

Yep. But it bears repeating. And if anyone is reading this who isn't a PC member, iirc, having the membership in the cart gets you PC pricing on that cart, so right now would be a great time to get a GC over $100, pick up a Pro Bundle, and join the PC!
