Thanks. The downside is, of course, I needed to render that image 10 times (~2 hours) over a simple animation in order to get that blur. But, after a closer look, I think 5 images would have sufficed because my plugin had at least 5 of the images at such a low opacity that they didn't really need to be there (wasted renders).

Still, it's a simple way to do motion blur and looks better than me just blurring it by hand in GIMP :D

Try spot rendering to a new window ONLY the areas that will be moving.  Save each out as a new image and after they are all done, take the original and layer it together with each to make the new full size images.  Resave and then put them into GIMP for the blur.

Spot renders in Iray go rather fast as you are only doing that area.

Woah … I never realised you could spot render to a new window; thought it was only for the preview window. Just tested it, and yep, that saves an absolute ton of time and opens up a whole host of scripting possibilities.

    Thanks!

I'm finding that turning off "Invert Transmission Normals" (in 4.11 beta) gets more realistic looking speculars on skin.

...well the Polynesians navigated some of the largest expanses of water on the planet, far more than the Norse.

Female figure with pistol and alien creature

The sex robot - our last defender -  almost all the lighting comes from the actual lights and flames that are part of the scene.

    Just playing!

You neglected to mention here that "just playing" meant you'd created those brows in zBrush. (I read it on the gallery page.) Very nice work.

    Thank you very much L'Adair.

I made a couple different eyebrows a few months ago and forgot about them after using them once, I have a lot to learn.  I am glad you liked them.

Found some genesis 2 content while searching my library and I couldn't resist doing a render.

Tried to upload another image, but forum won't let me, and I've been trying since yesterday. It's about half the size of the image in my previous post (above), and also JPEG.

Actually no tone mapping. It's an environment tint setting. :-)
