I underexposed her by a stop to see what effect that would have on the post-work, but I think subconsciously that stop was added back in post. I 'corrected' the influence map on the dress (dforce was only set to affect from beneath the bust, so I added influence everywhere to get a more realistic draping), but the straps should be under tension (it looks like the dress straps could also do with some more subdivision [was at level 4]). Catch-lights also look off, and should have masked back in some of the texture in her hair. Still, learning ...
Stunning character, she reminds me of a very young Angelina Jolie. Great outfit as well.
Cheers,
Alex.
Dalliance
This is my entry for the PDFLives edition of Llola Lane's monthly challenge. (Members only, but it's free to sign up.)
Dalliance is my second image for August, using the shape "star." I was surprised at just how few star-shaped props I own, but I didn't want to fall back on using a starfield photo behind the set, as I'd done for the first image posted in the Daz Edition of the challenge.
Here's the first image I did. I forgot to it post here for some reason (presumably the "oven-grade" temperatures in my office at the time!) It's not as straight-forward a scene as it appears. If you're interested in how I created the following image, I share the "secret recipe" in my Kitchen thread here.
Between Tasks
(And if you think that's a lame title, I agree. Got any ideas for a better one?)
One more render before turning in for the night:
(the lens flare prop kinda went nuts, so I had to improvise in GIMP)
Not sure how I missed this but that is very well done !
I always under expose as well. I find it best to do it that way knowing I am going to post work anyways. Best way to ensure I dont blow out my whites or other colours when doing post.
Btw, looking at your artwork, you dont have much to catch up to. Your art looks very good.
..OK thought I was pretty set with my characters. Then in one of those big flash sales this month picked up Zev0's Molly for G3 along with the aging morphs bundle for G3.
So naturally had to try to furn her into my character Leela. The skin was the biggest change (Leela is a ginger and fair skinned) so used the base "Leela" skin texture I created in SBP3 (saved as a hierarchical preset). After that just a few small adjustments and yikes, she looks very close to the original sketches I did of her 15 years ago.
She looks good
A beautiful image. Very nice work.
https://www.daz3d.com/french-bulldog-for-daz-dog-8 shape, https://www.daz3d.com/bear-dog-for-daz-dog-8 skin, https://www.daz3d.com/oso-fur-shaders-for-iray for, well, fur.
..that is scary.
https://www.daz3d.com/big-cat-dog-for-daz-dog-8 , with some use of my https://www.daz3d.com/oso-fur-shaders-for-iray
(Tooting my own horn, but I really prefer my Oso Fur to other displaced fur stuff)
Been a while..
Awesome!
Tried to catch you in another thread but you didn't see it I guess so I'll try here:
Just recalled that I purchased your toon shader a while ago, so I decided to give it a try. I get some script errors though when I try to apply the presets (DS 4.10.0.123):

Nice, detailed tutorial btw.
Turn and Burn
Just playing around with GM3 settings and stuff to create some toons.
Many thanks for the comments!
So ... trying my hand at a 'promo'-styled render (not sure why she's carrying cleaning supplies, but her bag looked too empty / wayyyy toooo much 'catch-lights' in her eyes ... ):
Just testing a motion blur plugin I've written for GIMP (it takes a stack of images and fades the opacity via a sine function to get a kind of trail, then uses a blend mode to ... er ... blend the stack). Not as fancy as DraagonStorm's, but seem's to do the job:
Trying to get a 'scene'-feel:
Cool stuff all
Jungle Strike Team
Nerio City, Mars
looks good and smooth to me
Thanks. The downside is, of course, I needed to render that image 10 times (~2 hours) over a simple animation in order to get that blur. But, after a closer look, I think 5 images would have sufficed because my plugin had at least 5 of the images at such a low opacity that they didn't really need to be there (wasted renders).
Still, it's a simple way to do motion blur and looks better than me just blurring it by hand in GIMP :D
That is awesome looking!
Thanks. This was an exercise in ligting and atmospheric effects.
Here's a character I've been working on for a while now.
Try spot rendering to a new window ONLY the areas that will be moving. Save each out as a new image and after they are all done, take the original and layer it together with each to make the new full size images. Resave and then put them into GIMP for the blur.
Spot renders in Iray go rather fast as you are only doing that area.
