  This is not a plugin, but it is a script where you assign the (starting point/first) image of an image series to any mappable property. And render thru the script to get animated textures. (Submitted to DAZ QA 12/9/2013)

  Yes, I think it ought to be integrated into Studio.

  +1 here, this type of feature should come as a default. I was just surprised not to be able to animate water with displacement map and a clip or image sequence.
