...yeah, the bad air quality alert has been extended into tomorrow now.

Too bad I can't move to Canada (though Vancouver is also now stupid expensive just like the other West Coast cities).

Just found out my boss is no longer with the company, aka she ain’t my boss no more.  Reading between the lines I am gathering she got a pink slip is more likely than her giving a polite resignation letter.  I am gathering how quick it happened and things I overheard she did something wrong including lying.

Well, I had to cut my PC membership and since I can't whine on the DazAholics thread, here I am.  I have been making a ton of shaders.  No renders.  I had to gut my wishlist, still got that one on that other site to do.  I am going to try to focus on getting more Arki and AeonSoul stuff here and a few artists there.  Until I actually get the major stuff I have been wanting for so long, I am not giving in to sales.  I am going to continue to make shaders, sort and sort, and play dress up, whether anything actually gets rendered or not.  I am also going to be working with G3 forever it seems like.  All the new stuff looks so good and my budget is crap.  I have not been getting much paid work at the store.  The kids and housework is keeping too busy to do much more on the computer or make much at the store.  My only hope is that if I reduce my household spending and other spending that hubby will loosen the purse strings, or find paying work for me at the stores and loosen the purse strings.  And I have to find and edit up some free pics for one of the stores that is being renovated.  I might get a couple of hours of pay for getting them printed and in the frames we are recyling.

...a member of the same club here.  Still hanging onto my PC membership as a a lot of shader collections are PC+ content and I don't have the skill or software to create by own.

These days, I pretty much buy merchant resources for the purpose of creating my own custom characters.  Also sticking with G3 as the minor changes G8 offers really don't justify the cost of "retooling" particularly on my budget.

Recently received notification letters about Medicare enrollment that will become effective in about four months. Not sure how I will handle the premium payments on what little I have left of my monthly SS cheque after rent and utilities and other expenses.

Still need to find an affordable reliable gigabit wired router to hook up the two workstation network (prices for these are ridiculous).

Non-Complaint.  I was able to charge up my notebook while I was working.  Yay!  Now I am able to use it until my ride comes which is scheduled for 5:15.  I am so glad I scheduled some rides for tomorrow yesterday because I forgot to call today.

Complaint:  Arghhh... Choosing yearly Medicare plans. no Medicare sends you a book as big as a phone book, and draws you a flowchart of the basic schemes.  But it's all just an insurance shell game hoping you'll pick the wrong shell so they won't have to give you the total pea.  I've been using Medicare for 5 years and every year I have to re-learn the terminology and what covers what and try to guess how I'll get sick in the coming year.  It's a bureaucrat's fun faire, "wheee lights & bells & whistles, step right up ancient folks and takes your chances". frown  And to top it off, not only does the government send you a big book of details, also all the major insurance companies want to send you THEIR big book of details and toot their own horn trying to get you to pick them for different or additional service instead of the government or other insurance companies.  "Part A", "Part B", "Part C", "Part D", "Medi-Gap", "Supplemental", "Exclusions", "Limits", and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!  My aching head.   Poor pensioner gets so confused that he has to call somebody to explain it all to him and one quickly finds out that they don't really know all the ins & outs of all the current plans either because they only get training on their provider's services.  And each provider's services change subtly differently each year. frown  So, they refer you back to the book.  Arghhhh.... crying  The only thing you can be sure of is the "Basic" and when you examine that you find out that you don't get diddly squat. sad

However, it's better than nothing.  I tried "Basic" for the first year but since then I've used "United Healthcare" as my Advantage plan provider and have gradually increased my "Advantage" coverage with them each year in the hopes that when I finally do need them I won't kick the bucket from shock when the bills start rolling in.

Yes, the deduction from your Social Security check hurts, but it's a lot better than paying for health insurance directly.

...all I know is it will be at least something like another 136$ a month out of what is left of my monthly SS cheque after rent utilities and life expenses. An 18$ - 20$/month COLA next year will be meaningless as it will be offset by a like amount being deducted from my food allotment again. Apologies but ramen, pink slime hot doggies, or mac with orange chemicals in a box is not a healthy nutritious diet, especially for us older folks.

Oh, don't worry, you won't have to worry about paying the Medicare premium after the other costs.  The Medicare premium is taken out before they cut you a check.  frown (Unless that's an option?  It's been so long that I forgot if I had that choice.)

...either way I will have 136$ less to budget with each month. That doesn't sit very well as if it is done as a deduction it could also mean my losing my place as I barely made the minimum income requirement the way it is. What good is a having healthcare plan when I'm living under a bridge?

  • We are younger, but just a bit.  We are going without insurance.  We are suppose to be saving for retirement hard and heavy.  My husband is doing just that.  But I am smoker so I am going to die of a heart-attack and he'll be buying a condo in Hawaii.

...never was able to save much let alone for retirement as I was stuck in a low wage occpation for the last two decades living paycheque to paycheque in a city where housing prices were going out of control. Also was paying off educational loans for an incomplete degree (long story there). What little I had saved was depleted when I was laid off during the recession and my UI expired. This is why (like many others) I only have SS to live on. Maybe I need to do a Gofundme to offset the Medicare premiums.

Non-complaint:  I missed an on-line auction tonight. surprise Forgot all about it.  I had seen a really interesting object when I previewed it this morning and decided I really wanted that thing.  But tonight I got interested in TV and missed the beginning of the auction and came into it too late.  And yesterday I didn't go to the symphony because of the weather. indecision Wheee, I'm on a roll.  I've saved more money in the last two days than I wanted to.  Yay! yes  I think tomorrow I'll decide not to fly to Paris for lunch.  Just think of all the money I'll save. smiley

survived trip to the gastro dr
going to the pharmacy legally blind is dangerous not reading the labels

dr gave me a prescription for Protonix i assumed was for my crappe incontinence problem,
explained to him why the metfornin and blood pressure pills were impossible for me

anyway, at pharmacy i made out the 'p' on the label
turns out pharmacy gave me a generic version without telling me,
called pantoprozole sodium, same basic inhibitor but worse side effects
as fas i can tell from my limited experience,
the generic brands seem ta have different (worse) sife effects
i throwed the pills in the trash already, without the bottle,
interwebs says safer to not chuck bottle in same trash.
anyways, after looking it up on line, the pill is for acid reflex
at moment not sure if he really didnt call in the protonix like he said,
or switched to the generic, or the pharmacy did it
he prescribed some over the counter stuff for my gastro-intestinal woes
    Culturelle probiotics 1x a day, 19$ at cvs(hit)
and tbspoon a day of Citrucel 25$ at cvs(hit) , great taste tastes disgusting
    just kill me now cryingcrying

he spent like 1/2 hour telling me why i have to do the colon camera thing.
i informed him politely, my gastro problem is my one and only priority atmo

why do they perscribe pills with the possible side effects of blurred or decreased vision?
its like fighting an army of robots with a bow and arrow, it doesnt make sense

on the fun side, got to flash my hip tattoos, rectal exam  tee hee

Good luck with that.  People only seem to want to feel like heroes when they donate to a really sad case and save the day.  Otherwise, they walk on by.

...yeah, usually the case, I see it every day where I live. I'm barely scraping by month to month and wish I had a little extra to offer as help. Meanwhile, the well to do I see in the neighbourhood seem to walk around with "tunnel vision" or with their eyes glued to their iPhones.

I have United Health  AARP MedicareComplete.  Do you have the transportation to and from the dr included in yours?  I do, only none of the plan's drs here in Cap City provide this feature.  I haven't been to the dr in over a year.  I don't have a car and can't afford a cab.  Our city bus takes 3 hrs one way, with quite a bit of walking for the necessary transfers.

I really don't know if I have the transport service, I usually don't need it because I have a car (15 years old but it still runs yes).  I have their "MedicareCompete, Choice Plan 4, (Regional PPO)" in NY State.  (I don't know exactly how that applies in other states.)  Wheee..., "Bureaucrat's fun faire." frown

I haven't actually used transport to doctor appointments yet.  Although, I recently did request ambulance service when I had a session of unexpected high blood pressure and was feeling too woozy to drive.  But since I got better and didn't let them take me to the emergency room, no charges were levied by the big city ambulance that came.  But since the local volunteer firemen came also I'll make sure I make a donation to them this year.  They need all the help they can get.  There's hardly ever a fire anymore yet the fire whistle blows at least 3 or 4 times every week and it's usually some ancient person needing help either to get off the floor or freaked out by some medical issue.
