So unicorns are corny and cows are horny...
...not happening here, and the smoke is returning.
...agh phone was not on the charger, though the battery is now down 36% from this morning (when it had 100%). I have not used it since checking a text and there have been no apps left open.
It may just be struggling to find reception...that uses battery life.

how do set my alarm clock for toosday?
...but it it is turned off, why would it do that?
You completely shut it down? When you use that button to blank the screen, that's all that shuts off. I only blank the screen. I shut it completely off only now and then. Sometimes when it wakes me and my wife up at 3:00 am with a severe weather alert, I will get up and turn it off! I hate that.
Dana
..so what do you do to totally "turn it off"?
crappe. didnt think i could sink lower than a neg 6
My ancient LG Android phone requires that I hold the power button down for about 10 seconds to get it to completely give up the ghost.
Non-complaint: I dug through my music collection yesterday and reaquainted myself with my favorite music from my college days of the '60s and '70s. Simon and Garfunkel were my first real wake up call, but it was the Moody Blues that came at exactly the right time saying exactly the right things. Their music was beautiful but it was sometimes the words, the poems that said the most: I especially love the stanza about the yellow moonlight ( "cold hearted orb...") that cuts right to the heart of the predicament of consciousness.
Late Lament
Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day’s useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion.
-- Graeme Edge -- (Moody Blues)
The Word
This garden universe vibrates complete.
Some we get a sound so sweet.
Vibrations reach on up to become light,
And then thru gamma, out of sight.
Between the eyes and ears there lay,
The sounds of colour and the light of a sigh.
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe.
But it's all around if we could but perceive.
To know ultra-violet, infra-red and X-rays,
Beauty to find in so many ways.
Two notes of the chord, that's our fluoroscope.
But to reach the chord is our life's hope.
And to name the chord is important to some.
So they give it a word, and the word is om.
-- Graeme Edge -- (Moody Blues)
????
I called my aquarium filter a fish filter, but it does not filter a fish, it just filters the aquarium water.
A cow is a hay filter.
With an addional methane filter.
I'd rather call it a methane factory...
...wildfire smoke is back, orange sunrise again this morning and hazy skies. Heat also returning, will be near 90° today and in the 90s again through Wednesday, before dropping back into the 70s (I hope they're right) for the rest of the week.
Was nice to have at least have a couple clear, more seasonable days.
Morning temperatures here south of Buffalo in the low 50sF. Rainy, muggy. Not sure that normal Portland weather hasn't moved here to get away from the smoke.

Nice and lazy day. Perfect day to press reset computer and take nap then change mind but it was too late. There were better methods on fixing the issue with the computer.
...eyes been stinging and watering again. Eye drops seem to be doing nothing but making my eyesight blurrier.
Another unhealthful air alert has been issued which will last through Wednesday (of course coinciding with the forecast 90°+ temperatures).
Getting really tired of this.
I had a strangely detailed dream last night. Now I am up I find it odd. I want to go back to sleep though.

4 dead eggs doh
This green and silver egg lurks in the shadows, tempting you to steal it.

This heavy egg has an earthy scent, like freshly-tilled soil.
