Here's the finished image of the brothers…
Brothers
@JUJU, your guy is hot! Though I'm choosing to see a woodsman with his axe…
@DarwinsMishap, Another gorgeous male… 'Nuff said.
@mal3Imagery, I like him with wings, though he looks like he's about to meet out justice to some miscreant(s) below. I would not want to be in their company…
Ha ha! I hadn't thought of that, maybe it's the subconscious reason that I don't feel like rendering. The racket my GPU makes in this heat makes me incredibly nervous. I'm even playing games that don't make any demands on my machine (e.g. Dungeon Crawler Stone Soup).
Nevertheless, in answer to the concern that everyone has gone elsewhere, I shall contribute the following (rendered in cooler times):
Here's one for the thread. =-)
I really love your rendering style Serene. Is this post worked or straight render?
I do a basic render, use filters, and several layers and erase out the unwanted stuff to make it a bit painterly which is what I’m going for. I tend to like color so my color is frequently amped up to get the retro look.
I like this style but I have trouble achieving it all the time although I try.
It's really stunning! Thanks for your work flow tips!
Ken
I posted some basic instructions in my studio thread. Hope this is helpful

Very nice! He looks amazing.
Definitely not too hot to render here, I can assure you. With -8c overnight and 25c daytime, it's rather difficult picking the right outfit.
But, here's an attempt at cute
Tall guy is DEF cute. Little guy is cute too!
Thanks Mr Wolff.
Now, back to normal...
Mmm mmm MMMMMMMMMMMMMM
My Humble Contribution
Hi Tobias,
Like this... All you do is copy the image URL from your gallery image. Then up in the forum post options you select the "image" icon (there are two rows of options, it's in the top row, about the middle, hover over and you will get a text pop up saying "image". Click that and paste your URL there and post. I THINK you can resize it in that dialog IIRC... I'll try and see what happens...
The bad thing is it needs to be resized so it's not distorted like that. See my posts below how to do that...
OK, so as you can see my resizing using the image dialog works. I just entered in 1000X800 and it's within the forum limits (I think) so now you know how!
Thank you
Your very welcome!
"Forum limits" are 800 pixels wide.
(I've had a few images "corrected" in the past…!)
Gallery images are displayed at 730 pixels wide, and the URL reflects that: so instead of the filename being dance-with-the-devil_full.jpg, it will be dance-with-the-devil_730_auto_main.jpg
If you are using Firefox, you can drag the mouse over the image so it is highlighted and using the keyboard, copy to the clipboard. Then in your post, place the cursor where you want it and paste, again using the keyboard. (Ctrl+V and Ctrl+P) That will insert the code from the gallery page, complete with the image and a link to the larger image. The link will not open into a new window, however, so if you want to make changes, to open in a new window or to open the gallery page rather than the larger image, right-click on the image to open the Image Properties dialog.
As for the image size, in the Image Properties dialog, you can change the width by replace the _730_ with another value, for example, dance-with-the-devil_730_auto_main.jpg could become dance-with-the-devil_800_auto_main.jpg for a larger image, or dance-with-the-devil_250_auto_main.jpg for something more like a thumbnail image, like this:
After changing the value in the URL, hit the Tab key and the values should be updated correctly in the width and height fields.
Note: for demonstration purposes, I used only the filename in the text above. However, I recommend using the full URL.
