I had actually gone back before reading your post, and edited to add a warning that the $6 off code was working but also deducting from the freebies as usual (and not to use it.) It did change the cart price for me, by $3 instead of $6.

Another spend/not spend quandry - She does look delightful - more early twenties in default in most related chara morphs though - only one that looks teeney is Zelle (who is lovely, but I don't do goths at all) - I do like Jiao.
Hmm, there are still some Pro bundles on the free bundle selection I don't have and could make use of....but I have spent rather a lot on the Viccy birthday and other great deals of late (plus Hivewire Lion at the other shop).
Think I'll be mulling this over to the end of the day....

So, is Monique 8 chopped liver? Plus Monique has a number of add-on characters.
Also, several of the female pro characters have had addon characters of other ethnicities, so I'm not seeing a major issue here on the female front. Maelynn (Kaylee 8 addon character) is a no brainer for me. Also Jiao goes both ways (Teen Kaylee and Teen Josie), there's Patty for Girl 8, Hailey for Girl 8, Destini for Girl 8, Janella for Mika 8, Soraya for Victoria 8, Kiara for Victoria 8, Jolette for Charlotte 8, not to mention multiple G8F base ethnic characters.
Interestingly, I already own most of the above mentioned characters, and most of those were insta-buys for me. I also didn't include some of the 'mixed/questionable ethnicity' characters (Aiko 8 has a couple of these, as do other character families).
However, looking at the males (btw 222 male vs 637 female Genesis 8 characters), yeah there's an issue there. Outside of the Darius 8 family, there is a serious lack of 'other than caucasian' characters, The F to M ratio for G8 is not quite 3 to 1 yet, but at least we've been hitting 2 to 1 (m to f) on the pro bundles so far. A Lee 8, etc. would be very welcome to help improve the male situation.
My point being that, while yes the majority of G8F's are Caucasian, there ARE a number of other non-Causcasian characters to choose from on the female front. Also, when it comes to Pro characters, I'm guessing Daz is going 'Lowest Common Denominator' here, i.e. what they think they can sell the most of. Add on characters for pro characters with various skin tones makes sense to me, if Caucasian pro characters are dramatically outselling the other ones.
Myself, I like stand-alone characters a lot, i.e. ones that aren't dependent on some figure family (Girl, Aiko, etc.), and of course theoretically I could just buy a 'Pro-rated' character as a Standalone, and in some cases have done exactly that.
Ollie, Edie, and Floyd were unusual in that Daz isn't all that big on releasing older characters, but these characters turned out to be rather popular with the Daz crowd. But yeah, they are Caucasian... Daz has a lot of interests to cater to, and let's face it they are in this to make money, and Pro bundles are part of that formula.
Of course, a lot of people here are really hoping for a Mei Lin, Lee, etc. update. I'd like to see that too. Also, as far as pro bundles, maybe an India oriented character/bundle, and Native American might be fun too. Of course, the question is wheth ere there are enough other people here that would actually want to have those bundles...
And of course, Caucasian is a LARGE category. There are some rather noticable differences between Russian/Eastern European folk, Irish, Scandinavian, French, Greek, Italian, etc.
Kaylee 8 doesn't have an African oriented character as of yet, but I'd guess that some PA's out there will rectify that soon enough. Out of the five Kaylee 8 characters we have so far, two are Asian, so Kaylee is off to a good start!

Really, the Bounty Hunter outfit was the most compelling for me because of the guns, despite having a fairly extensive Daz gun collection. They're science fiction blasters rather than gunpowder slug throwers.
Probably gonna pass on this one. I was hoping against hope for a decent male figure bundle or a housecat bundle (since we did get the dog ) but we just got another teen female which is disappointing. The extra 3 bundles almost sell it but not quite.

For the total package (along with 3 extra pro packs) it will be one face on sea of items.

No, No more teens unless its a boy, I'm still waiting for the Guy 8 and a Kenji 8. This could easily be done with Stephanie 8, If you want to sell a waif, give me a Geneive 8, Ninive 8, Arabella 8. Daz, if you want to go young, give me children and a baby. Not touching this even though I like alot of stuff in the bundle.
Oh I dont think so. I think they really diversified and offered some really unique morphs with Genesis 8 (like Alexandra and Edie/Ollie) But while they are playing with the style, they still need to offer some of the other styles that are popular... such as teen/fairy types, ethnics, anime, toon, etc, so theres something for everyone. I think they are actually catering to a much wider audience with Genesis 8.
Do you not see many real world teens?

PA characters are only a bandaid at this point, because not everyone wants to shell out for add on characters, and given how expensive this hobby is getting... yeah.
I get it. I get money talks. They put out what sells.
But this is getting ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. And the “whataboutism” with PA characters doesn’t change the fact that on an official level, it’s pretty darn problematic now.

I've been noticing lately that the cart is getting glitchy. You'll put items in there and they won't be the right price but after a page reload they'll suddenly show up at the correct discount. Happens randomly.
I've been noticing that what you put in the cart, doesn't always actually reach the cart. :D Just this morning, I put the new pro bundle in the cart, along with the three addons to make it cheaper, and went to the checkout page to see how much it would cost. It was something like $20, I was really happy, and wanted to immediately check out... and then I noticed that the pro bundle is not actually in the cart... :D Ah well, would have been nice... :D

Well, artists make all of the characters. Only a select few are chosen for the Pro treatment, of course, but Daz3D doesn't make the characters, the artists do. Daz3D simply chooses not to include the artist names with most of the pro characters, as they've bought the rights to those characters outright in many/most/all cases.
And, as far as I'm concerned, ANY character that is sold in the Daz store is 'official', as they all must pass through Daz's strict quality assurance testers. Not all items that are submitted to the store are accepted. Note that occasionally we do have Daz Originals that are discontinued for whatever reason, so just because a product is a DO doesn't mean that it'll be with us forever.
I had a rather lengthy response that I just deleted here. The point is that, so far, we have 12 entirely new characters in the Genesis 8 pro lineup (some may have resemblances to existing Genesis 3 characters). Lee and Mei Lin have shown up rather consistently in previous generations, and I'm guessing that they will 'make the cut' to Genesis 8. Several of these characters were unujsual (Thinking Sakura, Floyd, Ollie and Edie here) and not what we have seen before in the Pro lineup.
Only 10 'Pro' characters from the Genesis 3 lineup have advanced to Genesis 8 so far, and we most likely have less than a year to go before Genesis 9 drops, and a number of people have their personal Genesis 3 faves that they'd like to see upgraded to Genesis 8. Not all of them will make the cut...
But this thread is about Karyssa. Lamentations about what Daz has or hasn't done yet probably should be discussed in another thread, and there are a few suitable threads for that. I for one like that Kaylee 8 has 2 Asian variants already.

I don’t think lee and meilin will make the cut in their existing form, they usually were released earlier than now. I suspect we may see an Asian base but if they were successful and made good money for the store we would’ve seen them by now.
This image reminds me very much of Avril Lavigne in her younger days. I like her. There's a few not so teen things in the pack.....that is if you're a real teen and not working a corner in a bad neighborhood. The little girl strap pumps with knee high stockings looks like it could be working a corner or a pole. Not teen fare. Also, the sword outfit looks 'ok' on the toony anime character cuz that's how they look, but on a teen? Not my teen. The illusion of the garter belt in front holding up the thigh things, very low cut with all the cutouts, and if she wears the little skimpy thing without the suit, well then she's looking for more than a prom date. And if you're under 18, you can't get a tattoo, right? Not even a heart or a cupcake unless they're temporary.
Having said that, I do like the clothes and their texture addons for my older girls (except the litte princess gown--gag). I also like those heels with the socks for my 'adult' renders. I added up the price of what I wanted and compared it with the price of the pro bundle with my discount, and it's cheaper to buy the bundle and a couple addons than it is to buy just the stuff I like. While I don't want another white teen female (and def no more white teen males), I can put up with her for the clothes she brings. Kinda hip and cool.
I did see a couple names in the Courtney Hair list of fits for a 'Mabel 8' and 'Latonya 8'. So maybe there's hope yet for an ethnic character. Hopefully not another anime, fairy, teen or 'tween'. Pretty much been there done that with the last several releases.
