Gasoline is hardly less dangerous. Any form of concentrated energy has its dangers. Big rubberbands can kill!
Not to mention staplers and paper clips.
Staplers don't kill. People kill.
But paperclips are vicious.
Non-complaint: I have a new mouse. Yea! Young, spry, cheap(ish), and color coordinated with my all black theme.
It's a Logitech M510, a little bit bigger than my now crippled Microsoft 4000 but it has two batteries instead of just one, and claims 24 month battery life vs the 6 months that my old mouse could do. But "claims" ain't "facts" so it remains to be seen...
And I got it locally at the OfficeDepot in our mall for the same price that Amazon offers it. And I didn't have to pay shipping or wait for delivery. No need to spend $40 on a mouse when a suitable one can be had for $20.
Are they rechargeable batteries? If so, life will dwindle the longer they are in use, and the more times you recharge them. At least they (Logitech) started using replaceable batteries in the Performance MX mouse (I have that one). And you can use it while it's recharging, better than their old Revolution MX mouse, which had to sit on a charger, and had a non-replaceable battery.

Complaint: Oh, great!!! For those of you still on Windows 8, or Windows Server 2008, the Meltdown bug is back. Now being called Total Meltdown. Patches actually opened up a hole that makes it worse. It was read-only, but now it can deliver write control of your computer. If you had any pathces from 2018, you are now more vulnerable than before. https://www.zdnet.com/article/it-must-patch-against-total-meltdown-now-the-source-code-is-on-github/
These operating systems are just too complex...which makes it tougher to make it totally secure. Windows 10 is not affected...as far as I know.

The article says Windows 7, not Windows 8.
Ooops, sorry. Anyway, glad I left 7 behind when I did.

Nope, they appear to be typical Duracell "CopperTop" AA batteries.
...Read about this the other day on ZDNet. I disabled updating back in September of 2016 when MS went to the bundled format so I never downloaded any of those infected KB numbers.
This is exactly why I am against MS taking user decision making out of the update equation and force feeding us everything.
When my system many years ago was infected after a Windows auto update I was told that the update itself couldn't be the reason. Surprise, these update files were hacked.
What's to stop a similar type of exploit via W10 updates from compromising systems in the future? Those poor Home Edition (which is bundled with most off the shelf systems) users will be the ones affected the worst as they cannot defer updating. Just by its dominance of the PC industry, MS remains the biggest hacker target in the world as Windows is on so many systems.
I'm running Win7-Pro and I let the system automatically install every update that the automatic system sends to me. I do have 2018 patches installed but I checked and I do have two of the three patches listed that they said would be sufficient for protection. The one I'm missing is 4093108. However, the wording of the sentence says: "But if you do have patches, and have KB 4100480, 4093108, or 4093118 installed, you should also be protected. " The "or" being the confusing word. Using it as written I would be OK if the author meant that any of the three were present. But if the author meant to say "and", the situation would be that I need all three and I wouldn't be protected.
Alternatively, does the wording mean that 4093118 supercedes the previous two? In which case I would again be protected. Given these possibilities of meaning, I'm not sure I'm OK or not.
This is why it's so important to have trust in the accuracy, and language skills of technical writers. Based on my experience I just don't trust a lot of hastily scribbled off fixes from the Internet. (*sigh*).
I came home about two hours later than expected, but no one asked where I was or why i came in at seven something instead of my usual four to five thirty.
I feel like taking a sleeping pill but I do not remember drinking anything but water this afternoon
Oh I went to the perfect place for me to watch a movie. The local movie theater.

Yeah but they are not cheap.
Got to work in proper uniform. I did have a little time for mother's day presents. Got a Sherlock Holms book at B&N. Had a 25% off coupon for bath and body works. Had enough cash to get a car scent thing and refills for mummy. Do not need it as I no longer have a car.
That was for mum but I got Chinese for self. I also got a screen protector for my new phone. Waiting for my new phone case to come in.

...congrats. Sill looking for that 5 of 6 (between 500$ & 600$). Been quite a dry spell for me not even a 4 of 6 which I usually hit every couple months. Best I've done lately were 3 of 6 which is a free random pick ticket for the next draw.
...been down under the weather again since the change yesterday. 30° drop between Thurs and yesterday along with a sudden change from dry to wet conditions aggravated a cough and many aches. I need to move to someplace like Tahiti, but for that I need to win a lotto.
sounds like some medicinal remedy in order. sippss of drambuie
...have a bottle of Ardebeg Malt Scots Whiskey in the cabinet. Definitely prescribing a dram before bedtime.

you ever try the highland park? is it tasty?
..yes I have and it is very good, however I have a taste for the "peaty" varieties.
how do butterflies manage their take off?
they float and drift, but initially straight up, drift backwards a bit??
close to the ground, they just gliding, away from whatever they flying away from. do they turn before they take off? or take off without looking?
i imagine faeries would fly like a big bumblebee
Wow, 4 of 6 every couple months!
I play NY Lotto and will get 3 of 6 for a free ticket every few months but mostly I just play once or twice a week to stay in the game. I did, however, once, several years ago, get 5 of 6 in NY Lotto and got about $830.
Bought me a new crown for my tooth, and a marvelous Epson printer (two-sided, 13"x19" paper, two drawers). Still have both the tooth and the printer, very happy.
To pick up my prize money I had to go to the gambling casino near Buffalo (official state Lotto office too) where they handed me cash, discretely. I avoided all temptation and just left the building, without gambling away any of "my precious".
