...bugger, pub I go to changed personnel around, no more Food Network on Friday evenings, only sports like every other place (and usually ones, or teams I have no interest in). Last night it was hockey (winter sport, No more winter here for me either, should be done by now but will go into June with the playoff schedule). The match was between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, two cities where the only ice they usually encounter is what's put in their drinks or comes out of a snow cone machine. The pre-match "festivities" made me feel I was watching the WWF on ice.

    ...bread and circuses I guess.

    The World Wildlife Fund?

Many people probably don't know why, but this is why they had to change their name to WWE.  WWF was already taken.  I don't know why it took so long to push this, because the wrestling has been using if for many years.  But obviously, the World Wildlife Fund was earlier.  When I had money, I used to support them.  They do good work.

I think KK probably meant The World Wrestling Federation.

They are no longer known as that.  They have been proven to be merely entertainment.  The World Wildlife Fund, I think, sued them to change the acronym letters.  They are now the WWE.   I pronounce that Weeeeee!!!  laugh

Speaking of multi-cultural assemblies,... I've been watching the British TV show "If You Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away" where the Baliffs often try to repossess people's automobiles and are often given a car's "Log Book" (which is always rejected as "Not Proof of Ownership").  What is a "Log Book"?  It looks official and they all look the same.  Is it a proof of registration?  What does it log?  Does it keep milage, or auto history, or what?

A logbook is NOT proof that you own the car. Your logbook or V5C registration certificate is proof that you are the registered keeper of your vehicle, which only means that you're responsible for registering and taxing the vehicle. A logbook is very important if you ever sell your car, or if you're buying a used car.

I have to admit I have never been quite certain how I prove I do actually own rhe vehicle that I paid good money for.
However I never held the log book for my company vehicle, although I had 24/7 usage of it.

To identify the vehicle's responsible party we have a wallet sized card called the Registration Certificate as well as a windshield window sticker proving valid current registration which must be renewed every two years or when the car is sold.  Also we must have a vehicle safety inspection every year along with a corresponding window sticker, and we must carry insurance documents with the car.  And on top of that as proof of ownership we have the car's "Title" document which is actual proof of ownership.  If the car is financed, the TItle document is held by the finance company until the car is completely paid for, at which time it is sent to the owner.  So we have Title to our car similar to having Title to owned land.   I notice in the "IYCPWTIA" TV program that the bailiffs often ask for a receipt of purchase to prove car ownership.

Some of these things vary by state.  Here in Massachusetts, the registration sticker goes on the rear plate.  And proof of insurance is required for registration, and is simply noted on the registration certificate, that we must carry.  Some folks leave it in the glove compartment.  I say that's not a good idea.  If the car is stolen and police pull them over, they can tell the officer that they borrowed the car from a friend, and show the registration certificate.  If the car hasn't been reported stolen yet, they get away with it for a little longer.  I just think it's not a good idea.  It's always with me.

If you haven't seen "Brazil" and like Python stuff, this is a little different but is another of Terry Gilliam's gems.

...indeed particularly if it has the original ending.

I cannot sleep.  I woke up and now I cannot fall back asleep.  Even though it is early I opened my birthday presents from Daddy.  He said to open them up on my birthday.  He did not say that it had to be actual daytime, or not that I can remember.  I got a book called Lady Midnight, a pack of colored pencils, a coloring book, and a dragon blank book.  I can show pictures of that later but it is still early and my roommate is sleeping.

...congratulations on completing your latest round trip about our central stellar primary.

Complaint:  It's becoming harder and harder for me to find any new movie plot that I would want to pay money to go see or fiction book that I would spend time reading.  Homogenized, rehashed storylines.  indecision  A risk of getting old and having watching thousands of movies.  Ho-hum, humdrum, sameness.  That's why movies like "Brazil" were so interesting, and why Gilliam has such a hard time getting it distributed in America.  It didn't fit the mold.

Non-complaint:  These days, I get much more enjoyment out of science documentaries, histories, & real reality shows.  I'd rather read a history book than any fiction, including SciFi.  I'm in my element with science magazines.  Facts and oddities of reality are so much more interesting than fiction.

A Quiet Place is supposed to be good, and it's definitely not like anything I've seen release lately.

Today was a good day as I am still alive.  Today was a bad day because I messed up big time.  I gave away two free drinks was the big thing I did wrong.  A minor thing I did wrong was that I did not make a customer pay the 4 cents he did not have.  He paid for the rest but not the 4 cents.

Last night I forgot to send in the document of my homework.  I submitted a video instead.  I did the document but could not find it when trying to upload it.  I thought I saved in one spot but it was not there.

A customer who worked at a candy kiosk at the mall gave me a tip (of free candy).  I said it was okay as long as she does not get into trouble.

It is five pm and I am home.  I already ate dinner from work but was not allowed to have a drink.  I did get a write up for the free drinks I gave away.   My boss said that people look up to me even if I do not think they do.  I need to give a better example since I have been there so long.

Messing up big time is uttering "oops" during surgery.

Messing up big time is forgetting to stop draining the water in a nuclear reactor.

Messing up big time is whining "Was that me?" after leaning on a nuclear missle launch button.

Messing up big time is opening the spacecraft door while in orbit, before everybody else in the capsule has their helmet on.

idea of the group home seems to be clients are doing nothing, while staff works.  The client has to drop everything for the staff when the staff ask client to do something.

..well got the Teraflu, made a cup and drank it then laid down for a nap around 17:30.  Woke up about three hours later. still feel like yecch warmed over but the sore throat seems to not be as bothersome.  Preparing another cup and heading back to bed as I know my sleep schedule is already messed up (the good thing is the Theraflu helps me sleep).

More wet and chilly tomorrow, just going to stay in as finally the weather should warm up and dry out beginning Wednesday so I can do a bit of marketing.

    Nite all....
