    Anyone know which long hair is that in the Aiko 8 promos where she's wearing the bikini? doen't look to be the Abigail Hair

    I am sure I saw one promo for her (or, rather, an addon) which used the old A3 Mitsui hair. 

    Mind you, there may have been a Genesis version of that released in a large package of DAZ updates to a random selection of products. But it was back enough years that the contents of that package are not longer fresh in my memory.

    The bottom outfit is OOT's "Eleanor Outfit " - the dress and choker, but I'm not sure where the socks/legwarmers come from.

    They are both tweaked the blue one a lot more than the other, that texture is one of the ones for VYK Rose for Aiko 8, the ears are hers as well, the other image is using the Pei texture.

    Here's an updated Aiko roundup...

    The Aikos, Aiko 3 to Aiko 8

    Quick note on the 3's. 

    Next to the 'classic' A3 is the version from the A3/H3 Legacy Shape for Genesis, with Aiko 5 textures.

    I didn't bother with Aiko 7 for Aiko 8, as they look very similar.  Aiko 4-6 I believe also have updates to newer generations, but I don't have those...

    Such cuties!

    About time it's come out for Aiko 8. I love the detail on her face, now I would really wish there would ever be a Hiro 8 in the very near future. I have my charcter in a Genesis 2 Male with the Hiro 4 head shape. Seems way too outdated. I would wish Hiro 8 as well the shapes of it will come out in the near future.

    At least the Aiko Legacy Shape for Genesis she can open her mouth up wide and smile nicely.  That was the ONLY thing I hated about the Generation 3 Aiko and Hiro, their smiles were horrible, very toothy unless you spent time moving the teeth up.  Old tech but yea, I loved the shapes allot more than the current!

    Well after swiping all those forum topic pages.. I purchased Aiko 8 along with HP Yuka for Aiko 8.

    I waited for long time the release of Aiko 8.
    The final result is great for me. She remind me Vanille from Final Fantasy series.

    Well for Yuka it is a well done character alsl sold with a kabuki mask which I needed for a while!

    Top of that I saw a blend with Monique 8 here in the topic. It is assurely nice to see Monique 8 blending with Aiko 8.

    This produce an heartbreaking character for my runtimes. 

    Let's say.. Am I happy with Aiko 8 release?

    Yes a lot. 

    Am I expected more from this core DAZ character release?

    Yes obviously, Aiko 8 miss the look she had in Aiko 7 for the face and eyes.

    Anyway, changes are good, this build surprising things and this Aiko 8 is surprisely a solid gaming character for J-RPG

    Thanks DAZ, mission complete for me.

    For finishing my post.. I would notice that many new characters have making their entrance in the dance floor, this G8 F aswell M series is a very welcomed refresh to characters that was so.. Commonly nostalgic!

    Sooo, apparently I have Hiro 3 and Aiko 3 shapes/morphs for Genesis 3.  Not sure how or when, and they are 'hidden/greyed out' but they work.  Of course, the UVs aren't there, so you'd have to experiment with materials from various characters (Aiko 7 UVs looks good, just that the skin is  too dark).

    I'm currently working on A3 morphs for G8 dialing A3 in by hand, the results of which I've shared before.  However, pictured below are the above mentoned 'currently available' A3 morphs that I have in my Daz library.  I've used these instructions, but there's an issue (the clothing isn't loading correctly after the morph is saved, so I have to fit it to Genesis 3 and then transfer back to 8).  This is a noted issue in the thread, I'm not seeing a solution...

    Note that you'd probably want to thicken the upper arms on the G8F version to match, I'm just showing how it appears without any other morphs.

    The A3's above are using the default textures (for the various Genesis figures).  The clothing is autofitted, with the G8 versions fitted to G3F first, then fitted again to G8F.  The various Aiko textures work pretty well, although the skin tones get progressively darker...

    Anyways, for those that have pondering cloning A3 to G8F, it's possible... and she doesn't look too bad with A8 textures.  As for lightening the skin, well that's another story - you might be better off using another texture set

    The A8 Salem textures look very promising...

    My custom morphed characters (the WIPs I've posted earlier in this thread) have a bit more detail and character, but for those that are looking for a 'faithful recreation' of A3 as A8 in the meantime, it's certainly possible if you want to take the time to make a clone and such...

    oh thanks tj_1ca9500b been planning this one for a little while was waiting on Aiko 8 to come out so could include her. The idea concept of Aiko in this was the song i'm turning Japanese which Kirstan Dunst did a cover of dressed in an anime style costume

Why did Aiko have to change so much that Sakura was need to replace the void Aiko 3 left so many years ago? Aiko 8 could have recaptured what Aiko 3 was, while Sakura took the Final Fantasy castaway role. I think that this would have made a lot of sense, and made more people happier than the situation as it is now. You actually have people not buying Aiko 8 based on principle alone...that's not cool Daz, and it can't be cool for business. You could have made more people happier doing it like I said. RIP Aiko.

    IMO, Aiko 8 is sort of "meh" and Ok. Sh'e kind of in between the two. I don't see much of a reason to buy her. Also, Aiko 8 releases with perhaps the worst initial offer of any 8 series character. No free bundles, and to get the best deal, you have to add multiple add on items. And for those people who buy every bundle ever, do recall that past bundles had extra discounts for owning previous bundles. No discounts for owning any previous Aikos! This is a very easy pass by me. 

    Also, the product "Aiko 7 for Aiko 8" has the single worst description of all time in the Daz store. Who approved that? Massive confusion abound from this item. Plus Riza has the wrong requirements listed on her store page, which has led to even more confusion. What happened to the approval process? Come on guys, get it together. These are not random 3rd parties, these are releases for a (formerly) iconic Daz Original character. I say formerly because Aiko is no longer iconic in her generic Final Fantasy form.

    Seems to be Aiko-like to me; love, affection appear as the meaning of Aiko, but the most popular is beloved-child.

    Seems a very plausable name to me; that the character isn't what you expect, happens whenever new characters are released. They need change, otherwise that would reduce the liklihood of some buying them.

    Would you consider sharing that as a freebie or even putting it for sale? I haven't figured out how to do clones really yet and I have a ton of A3 clothes that would great on Sakura!

    My custom morphed characters (the WIPs I've posted earlier in this thread) have a bit more detail and character, but for those that are looking for a 'faithful recreation' of A3 as A8 in the meantime, it's certainly possible if you want to take the time to make a clone and such...

    The Aikos are all so cute!

     

     

    Would you consider sharing that as a freebie or even putting it for sale? I haven't figured out how to do clones really yet and I have a ton of A3 clothes that would great on Sakura! 

    It's something I'm tinkering with.  The plan is to package and release it as part of a larger product package, but I got distracted by some of the other Daz shinies for a bit.  I get distracted easily...

    If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I'll probably include the G3F-A3 transferred morph, converted to G8F, in a package along with the 'reimagined' A3.8's I've been working on... I like my 'reimagined' ones better of course...

    There's some examples on my (temporarily halted) progress here in linked thread below (note that this thread predates the Aiko 8 release).  I'll also include an Aiko 8 version of my WIP Aiko 3.8 (detailed briefly in an earlier post in this thread), along with my Karyssa 8, etc. versions once I work out some issues with the eyes, and get caught up on other stuff.:

    Quick note on the 3's. 

    Next to the 'classic' A3 is the version from the A3/H3 Legacy Shape for Genesis, with Aiko 5 textures.

    I didn't bother with Aiko 7 for Aiko 8, as they look very similar.  Aiko 4-6 I believe also have updates to newer generations, but I don't have those...

    Such cuties!

    Aiko 5 is the only one I don't have. Since I got the Aiko 3 for Genesis I didn't see the need to pick her up.

    I really like and apreciate the line ups and group pictures everyone has been posting in this thread. @tj_1ca9500b I didn't know about the G3F morph for Aiko 3, or I'd forgotten. I had used the clones and was experiencing too many problems using them for anything other than a line up in nuteral pose such as what you did. My main reoccuring problem was the hands and fingures would becoome wonky and I could get a decent picture using them. Anyone know how to work around that problem?

    It looks like Aiko 8 is playing a major role in the up coming Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I hope her acting skills are up to the task!

    The ghost of Hiro 8 even makes an appearance! <.<

    Well, you don't really need to be able to act for Final Fantasy... cheeky

    I actually just purchased Aiko 8 a few days ago when she was discounted to 10$. I kinda love her! She's not that great out of the box, but with just a few adjustments I was able to create already two characters that I think I'll be using a lot going forward. Will upload a quick render later, right now I'm rendering something else.

    Is that really Aiko 8? If so - AWESOME! I figured a big company like Square Enix has their own team of in-house modellers.
