"Bluto" vs "Brutus" https://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1548/is-popeyes-nemesis-named-bluto-or-brutus/
They're kind of cool looking, with that irridecent blue, green or purple...but they swarm and eat all the seed in my bird feeder. They seem to go away for the winter, but they're back now.

36f right now, at 1:51 pm. Expected to top out at 37f. Yay.

I let iray do its think for almost an hour and I realized I do not like it as it needs more lights or something.
edit: it was 15% done when I stopped it.
Th greens of young crrots can be used, taste first as not all greens are the same. Turnip greenss can also be good. Make sure the greens go in first so they soften enough and add flavor to the broth. Salt sparingly.
So sayeth Chef Ed. :-p
Ours here in Austin make odd noises, like shorting elecrical transformers. Very alarming! Bzzzzt crackle CAW! :-O
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I'd snd some heat if I could, 83f outside now.
Yaay, 83f outside and no A/C. Sitting in front of the computer with my Vornado blowing on me, drinking iced coffee, insulated curtains closed with a very slightly opened window for air circulation. Towel ready to be dampened and draped on the fan for evaporated cooling if needed. Shirt off, socks off, Webcam taped over.
I learned this neat trick in California: take 3 glasses. Fill each 1/2 way with water and freeze. When the first one is frozen, take it out and fill it the rest of the way with water. Instant ice water! And when it's empty, fill it 1/2 way and freeze it while you drink from the next frozen glass. Rotating through the glasses, you can keep yourself in ice water most off the time, depending on your freezer. Working really well so far! :-)
Cold refried beans and salsa in the fridge to eat, no need for the air fryer. Keeps the room temp down during the day.
Low on ice coffee. Iced Earl Grey next.
So happy for the insulated curtains and the cool LED lamps. LED bulbs add very little heat to the room. :-)
Yes, sort of a metallic kind of klink. Very odd. They scare away nicer looking and smaller birds from the feeder. But they scare easily themselves. I just go to the kitchen window and wave an arm, off they go. Once I saved one that was caught in my neighbor's stockade fence. He apparently slipped off his perch on top of one of the pickets ans down between two of them. His leg was caught. I tried to reach for him to lift him up, but it pecked at me and tried to scratch me with the loose foot. So I came back, got a table knife and a piece of cardboard (as a blinder) and slid his foot up and out from between the pickets. Off he went, withough even a thank you!

Our refrigerator has a water tap that gives pretty cold water, filtered, and an ice maker...crushed or cubes (well, not really cubes, sort of partial slices of a cylinder). I like it crushed. Never been a big ice person. But I like water best very cold.

I have a question ...can anybody complain here or is it a private complaint thread?
..actually not one of our buses, I just posted that as I was amused that the driver was doing his best to "hop" the bus with it's hydraulics.
These are the ones we have and are getting more of (built by Gillig) Actually pretty nice to ride as they have a few more seats and are use brighter colours for the interior. The front end also lowers as well.
These are the lightly older ones (New Flyer). Some are still in the old fleet colours with dark somewhat depressing interiors, but those are slowly being retired. The front ends of these also lower as well.
No "Bendies" (articulated buses) though we could really use them. The last ones we had were these but they were very poorly built and the commission actually won a suit against the company regarding serious manufacturing defects. They were eventually retired in 1999.
60' bendies will return but only on a BRT line that will go though the previous neighbourhood I lived in (Richmond on the SE side) from Downtown to the eastern suburb of Gresham. Most likely this will be the type they will use (New Flyer).
Yeah, these could be useful and so welcome on a number of routes I've ridden where overcrowding has become chronic issue, even on weekends. While it is good to see people riding instead of driving, it would be nice if an old codger like me could get a seat instead of have to stand.
No restrictions on membership. New members encouraged.
It's no use complaining to one's self. We're listening.
Then my complaint is family members who do what They want to help you rather then what you want ........and then get pissed if you aren't grateful ....
...been feeling that for the last couple days now. hence been not getting out of bed as early as I usually do.
...part of the reason I have been going back to 3DL as I don't have a powerful GPU card (which is what Iray really needs for improved render times) and waiting 45 min to an hour or more for a test render (instead of 5 - 10 min with 3DL) kind of throttles the ol' workflow.
...I have a big glass jug in the fridge. Need to get a cube tray before summer for those tall drinks and my whiskey. Found one that makes really big cubes (the pub I used to go to in the old 'hood called them, "Icebergs") which are great for putting in a bucket glass of whiskey.
...complain away, that's what it's here for.
..very complaint worthy. Been there myself.
mmm sounds good. and healthy
and mostly moji non-haters here
neither of those spell the same backwards and forwards

True, but they also have nothing to do with the price of tea in China.
No, mercury is still in the thermometer.
I ran a script that closed down my scene. Hopefully my saved version is still good enough.
...I thought it was a division of Ford.
...hey hey hey kids it's that day again.
...agh thinking about the old hometown again. In spite of many changes they managed to save some incredible architecture there.
This is the "federal" building...
This is the main atrium inside...
This is the City Hall...
This is the entrance under the tower...
This is the interior...
..more cool old milwaukee architecture:
The Mitchell Building (looks more like it belongs in Vienna)...
The Milwaukee Soldiers Home...
The Tripoli Shrine...
Wisconsin Gas Building...
..and yes the flam on top lights up at night...
The Central Public Library (originally the City's museum)...
The Imposing County Courthouse...
The Pabst Theatre...
Inside...
In spite of some of my faves being lost to the wrecking ball and a lot of new sometimes ugly development that tried to change the face of the city, a good number of really classy buildings remain and have been restored.
...guess reminiscing comes with the territory of getting old...and maybe just a touch of home sickness after four decades.
I wanted to sleep in today,
