Made it to my car and then uptown for Tuesday chores.  Took the garbage to the dump, had lunch at Wendy's, picked up prescriptions, did my laundry, bought some groceries.  But I waited too long to start because from the moment I left the house until I got back it snowed hard.  Then as soon as I got into the house it stopped. frown

Complaint:  While shopping I picked up a cheap ($10) pair of reading glasses. The checkout clerk helpfully put them into a separate small bag to protect them from scratching but forgot to put the small bag into my big bag.  I didn't notice them missing until I was tallying up my receipts at home and wanted to use the new reading glasses to be able to read the receipts. frown  Hopefully, they'll put them at the customer care counter and I can pick them up Friday when I have to go uptown again for a doctor appointment. indecision

Edited to add:  7:10 PM  Snowing quite heavily now.  Forcast of snow through Thursday.  "Long duration moderate to heavy snow. TOTAL snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches are expected "

Snow finally stopped, I think.  Probably more than a foot.  What a mess out there.  I have to attack that early in the morning...Diane is wanting to leave for work early.  I told her work might not even be open, she better check first.  I will probably collapse back into bed after I'm done...if I can sleep any more by then.

Still complaint:  Snow, snow, wind & snow, howling, screetching feel it blow.

Russians say it well:  1st four lines of the poem

          "Winter Evening" by Alexander Pushkin

    • Stormy hazy skys conceal
    • twisting whirling snow.
    • Like a howling  beast,
    • like a wailing child.
    • ...

Sorry, but in Russian and delivered in a low, slow, gravelly voice with lots of well enunciated Russian rolling "R"s it conveys the awe, danger and majesty of the situation.  I especially like the 2nd line  "Veekry szneznia krutya" Makes me shiver every time I say it.   devil  Oh, and in Russian the four lines of course rhyme too.  I've tried hard to find  or devise a translation that both rhymes and makes sense but that was the best I could do.

    Rough English spelling:

          "Zeemny Vyechur"--- Aleksandr Pushkin

    • Burya mgloyu nyebo kroyet
    • Veekry szneznia krutya
    • toe kak zvyeer ona zvoyet
    • toe zaplachet, kak deetya

    ...

Dust, I don't believe, was my problem. surprise Although it's been 6 months since I moved my primary computer, it sits on top of the desk and had actually only a little dust on top of it, and none visible inside.  I think the issue was resolved by any or all of the following actions: a) moving the CPU fan blades manually, b) removing/replacing the power plug, c) turning off/on, the powersupply switch, d) jiggling the CPU fan connection, e) petting the case lovingly and talking to the spirit of the machine or f) emanating concentrated forceful mental waves. enlightened

I went to look for Photoshop in my start menu and I could not find it.  Apparently not all the items in my start menu was showing.  I went to find Photoshop in the explorer.  Of course after doing that the rest of the software in the start up menu.

Mourning doves are very successful birds around here.  There's a large tree outside my window that is a favorite location, right before dawn I get 3-4 of them cooing away.  Very pretty birds, as well. :-)

I strongly dislike doves. Then again, the congregations I get are full orchestras, not little quartets. Cooing becomes cacophony.

Complaint: Got up at 6:45 am yesterday, to start clearing the driveway enough for Diane to go to work.  She was already out there shoveling!  Couldn't get the snow blower started, so I just grabbed a shovel and went at it.  About an hour in I felt funny, so came inside to eat something.  Then I went back out at it.  She left at 10:30 am.  I came in and took a nap.  Got up at about 12:30 pm.  Went back out at 1:00 pm, got the snow blower running, cleared the rest of her side of the driveway, cleaned off my car, moved it to her side, and finished the driveway.  Had to shovel some of it, heavy, partly frozen slush at the bottom...snow blower not good for that stuff.  Then cleared a path to the fire hydrant.  Was going to clear in fron of the mailbox, but it ran out of gas.  Then the postal carrier came by and delivered the mail, so I wasn't concerned about it.  Came back in about 3:55 pm.  So, all in all I spent at least a total of 6 hours clearing snow.  I was so beat.  I went to bed early (for me), 1:30 am.  Before I went to bed, I looked out my front window...there was snow on my car...again!  Happily, when I looked out this morning, the Sun had melted it all away.  Even though I went to bed early, I still couldn't get out of bed until 11:00 am!  And last night, the weatherman said that we might be getting yet another Nor'Easter on Tuesday!  Enough, already!

    So...how's everyone else?
