...bugger, going to lose an hour of sleep tonight as DST begins again.

I always say we lose an hour of play!  Of course, in my case, it really doesn't matter.  If I stay up later, I sleep later...or not.  Whatever.

Morning. Stormy sky blowing cool breezes our way for a change, we’re hoping for some rain here only had 2mm so far this year :)

Whoa!  Beware of fire-breathing draongs!  And careless smokers.

    Dana

A whole lot of fireworks here right now, are difficult to watch, this time  nine years ago it seemed the whole world was on fire I guess those memories will linger a while yet ...

Hey Tjohn, I just noticed your avatar... That's awesome... The Mona Feldman?

Yeah, I noticed Mona Feldman a few days ago and wanted to remark about it but 15 seconds later senility happened and evaporated my plans. frown

Speaking of senility, I've discovered the Walter Lewin lectures on physics from MIT on YouTube.  So, cool!  I wish I'd had him as a professor.  But I was only one letter off.  I attended FIT instead of MIT. indecision  But now, I can retake college physics courses from 50 years ago and remember what I'd forgotten and not have to worry about passing the tests. smiley yes https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiEHVhv0SBMpP75JbzJShqw

Some great demonstrations in each lecture makes things so much clearer.  Yeah, there's some math used in the board work, but it's not a problem if you understand the concepts of what Calculus and Differential equations do for you because you don't have to do the math.  Just believe he's doing it right and it explains the results.

    ..same here.

Or she had a big cup of Black Tiger™ coffee with 6 shots of espresso.  (Black Tiger is an extremely strong coffee produced by a local roaster here in Portland).

...well finally, a bit of spring here.  64° and sunny for today, 68° (maybe 70?) tomorrow.  Then back to wet but at least in the mid to upper 50s instead of low 40s.

Portland has the best coffee and the best beer.  Seattle has some decent coffee, too.

Didn't sleep worth a damn last night.  It hit 91f outside and, since I don't control the air conditioner, someone else's bright idea was to just leave it off.  I have a thermometer as part of my bedside lamp and it hit 90f in my room.  The cold front came in about 2:30am and it took 45 minutes with the window wide open for th room to drop down to about 78f, at which point I finally got to sleep.

To say that I'm in a bad mood today is a dramatic understatement.  I feel like bashing someone over the head with my carbon fiber foot but I know it wouldn't help.  Some issues simply aren't fixable... enough said.

THAT aside, it's overcast and wonderfully cool outside with a bit og gusty wind, window 2/3 open and bbq drumsticks cooking in the furnace (air fryer).  Rewatching Top Chef and looking forward to hitting the sack early tonight.

That covers it all, I think.

I found a place to generate human characters.  I assume I have a balance for it but I do not know how much my balance is.

I need to restart the computer but I am busy installing Poser 11.   Computer is acting up which is why I think it is time for a restart.  It has not been restarted since yesterday so I guess it is about time.

Complaint:  Recent snowstorm has again resulted in inches of ice on my inclined driveway.  If I had ice skates on I could stand still at the back of the house and slide at ever increasing speed down the driveway, and fall flat on my face at the edge of the road. indecision  And every day, the neighbor in the other half of the house returns from work in the afternoon when the temperature is just above freezing and the ice is wet and spins his tires all the way up the driveway in a diligent effort to polish the ice ever smoother.

Non-complaint:  The recent DAZ March Madness has saved me a bundle of money by not offering anything that I have any interest in.  I also watch my Wishlist (sorted by lowest price) and have not found anything under $20 that tickles my fancy* in the least, and nothing under $10 has changed at all during the "madness".  Thank you DAZ. yes

    * Note:  And believe me, when somebody tickles my fancy I get very cooperative. devil

Well, Nor'Easter #3 in less than 2 weeks is on its way tonight!  angry  It will start around midnight, go through the day tomorrow...and is expected to leave us with 12 to 18 inches of snow!  Le sigh.

...well really enjoyed yesterday (save for one small annoyance below).  High of 68° yesterday and heading to near 70° today (already 67°)

Odd thing, unrelated to weather, for some reason my phones battery began discharging rapidly even while turned off with no apps running.  Had a fl 100% when I let for my Sunday RPG session whne I pulled it out afterwards and turned it on it was only at 50%. Made my usual stop at the pub in the old 'hood for a couple beers and sty int touch with friend there and when I was about to leave it was down to 14%, again having been turned off with no apps running.  Barely made it home in time (5% charge left in power save mode).  Created a nail biting situation as one of the fare plans our transit system offers is one where you can purchase tickets online and pull them up on your phone.  They are doing away with paper tickets/passes completely and will only have this, a smart fare card (which has some less than desirable features, like not being able to use it as a day ticket so if you have a more than 2.5 hour gap you, pay another single fare) or cash fares that require having to keep change rattling around in the pockets. I had a day ticket activated (which should not have cause this) and was really fretting the battery would expire before I could get home (which meant paying an extra fare).

Just having the bus tracker open for a couple minutes (which is very a low impact app) while waiting to go home, I watched the battery drop by 8% even with the phone on Airplane mode (I switched that on just in case someone had hacked into it and was using it as a node).  So far today it's behaving OK but going to take my charging unit with me, just in case

Well off soon to do some marketing and errands soon on what is a very beautiful day.

...the side effects between atorvastatin (what I was on) and valsartan are rather similar including nausea headache, diarrhea, and fatigue/weakness.  I was told the effects would subside after a week or so as my body got used to the medication but that never happened and after a couple months (during which at times I felt so listless I just stayed in bed or would take long naps) I had him take me off of it as it really interfered with getting anything done.  Since then I have felt fine just taking the metformin.

If you can get a second and even third opinion I would do so.
