I'm kind of surprised not to have seen Lilith by now. She usually is a halloween type character. I didn't think she sold badly either.
Gianni and Elizabeth 8 would be a good continuing character. Best G8 character so far is Elizabeth. The characters I really want to see though are Toon Generations 3, Morpheus (Male & Female), the Girl, and the Guy. Plus I liked the Aiko, Kenji, and Mika characters and Mika needs a male conterpart.

it Would be nice to see GENX 2 Functionality made a permanent part of studio
with the ability to send shapes backwards in generations( Ivan7 to the G2 Male)

Just because some people choose to doesn't mean that DAZ makes the new versions expecting them to; I'm of the opinion that the new ones are often targeted at folks that haven't been customers all that long, and may not have the older versions.
Well honestly I am not a hamster behaving like a Pavlov dog. I taught myself enough to do morph transfers and such and have done a few of them but I still prefer to repurchase some of the characters I like for me plans with the newer technology. It's not a blow to my ego to defer to people that are more skilled at their expertises then I am in the least. They actually earned their degrees, certifications, licenses, and work experience and I haven't. What I have done earned what I do for work instead. I will buy products from those that can do what I cannot do or did not do in past to earn their jobs with their skills and degress and such. Small wonder there.
I prefer exporting the newest characters when I do export at all. That said, DAZ Studio itself needs to be improved to be competitive with some 3rd party animation creation solutions with physics engines because there is hardly any advantage for a person the exports all their purchased DAZ content to repurchase any of that content even once as new DAZ technology once they have a good base DAZ library. Not saying they need to go full out to be a game and/or animation engine but some level competition for Unity, UE4, and the like wouldn't be harmful for the consumers.

of the genesis platform has been subverted
By the less & less true backward compatibility,
there is not much choice for customers Old or new.
Couple that with the fact that autofit is slowly becoming
less of a reliable option for the new generations.
so re buying the same, often identical ,"Character"
(George HD for G8 ), is becoming the only option
if you want hassle free access to the new
clothing& shapes that follows the new generations
Genesis was suppose to have liberated us from
this paradigm.
However unless you become
a content developer with the ability to
continue to support the generations of your choice, as I have
for G2,G3

Except we aren't repurchasing the same character - every generation of Monique, Victoria, etc are pretty different.
Has it occured to you that this might be part of the joy of the hobby for some people? For example, my mother has collected dolls for decades. She is now 73 years old. Some people collect generations of the same doll model along with special editions. Other people collect cards. This doesn't seem much different. It's not my thing, but I can see how many folks here are voluntarily on the hamster wheel and are quite enjoying it.

the name may also suggest some sort of stylized or anime vibe

I saw something in a thread where Aeon Soul said she wasn't inclined to offer Alice because it was "too difficult" or something like that, and yet there are Promo after Promo so that doesn't ring true. If Alice ever came to be offered up I would buy her in a heartbeat! She's just got a very, very unique look and I have always noticed her in any crowd of images.
From memory, when Alice was made available initially there were very harsh reactions to the character's look, and it was really hard for them as Alice was really important for them, so they chose to retire her. That doesn't mean that they don't want to use the character anymore themselves, though.
I'm usually only interested in the textures that come with a new character and sort of find all the added "Character shapes" annoying since I try to "dial" my own characters. I wish there was a way to seperate them in the install, honestly.
She released a Vicky 4 version called 'Ily" on RDNA a while back but there were some weird issues that burned A LOT of time in the forums and people were struggling with it. I bought it, used it, figured out the issues and worked around them. It's a shame the figure is not offered in a more modern format (like G8F) as I have always seen Alice as an iconic figure.
Alice aside, I am very much waiting for Aiko 8. I don't think you can hardly go wrong with Aiko!
