Not To Worry, Friend, "There's Always Another Sale™"

  • I hesitate to speak on this, but one new wrinkle to consider is Spending Habits and those that shop with budgets.

There are people who spend X per month. That's what's in their "Daz allocated Fund-age".

    THEY SPEND THAT.

For some, it could be every day, others per week, some for the month.

And/or people have an amount ($$) in their cart that they are comfortable spending.

    --------------

All the talk of - "Oh, I emptied my cart" or "Daz lost that sale!" or "Whew, I saved some monies buy not spending today" is really empty talk from a retailers perspective. They will just get you later (what's the name of this thread?) You'll (or they'll) be the same person saying they "Went over Budget" because something else was too good to pass on.

Again, in an average, it all evens out to the General Amount You Spend. No matter who you are, there is probably a curve to how you spend.

For digital sales, it doesn't matter how many items you got in your cart, as long as you stayed close to that average.

A retailer or merchant cares about the average, not really the little spikes here and there.

Let's say you spend $20 a week. (I know, but let's keep it simple)

Does it matter whether or not you had 2 items in the cart or 10?

To Daz, no- they got the same percentage of that $20.

To each vendor it may matter. 2 items at $10 a piece yields more for those two vendors than $20 dollars SPLIT among 10 different vendors.

So, if you are a PA you want a MASSIVE run at those smaller splits to add up.

Face it, almost no one buys at full price- so sales and the piggy back of a new release is where it's at.

Daz probably doesn't care how many pieces or who you buy from as long as you keep spending your personal average.

    ----------------

Getting $50,000 dollars in under-priced stuffs won't stop anyone from spending their allotted budget.

No one logged off and said they good for a few months because of any bonanza.

    ----------------

Users have 100s of items on their wishlist. Getting 10% of them in your runtime doesn't stop the chase for the other 90% and with NEW releases coming out EVERY DAY (A feat I still marvel at)- that wish list is hardly in any danger of running dry.

    -------------------------------

I'd guess - the backbone of the Daz money-engine is based on collectors and people who feel they NEED a massive library.

For them/us NO AMOUNT of products satisfies.

You/we/Us/Me will continue to buy stuff(s) no matter what you got or get.

That's the real Daz Maths. lol

Daz has disposed of all my disposable income and then some.

Many of the pro bundles from the sale (the girl 7, gianni 7, genevieve 7, anneka, Victoria 7) have no applied discount. They only have 30% off when added to the cart (showing $95,47 each in cart with a new release), and obviously get no loyalty discount. These are sitll in either the 2017 or 2015-2016 category.

Please make sure you have relogged and/or done a hard clear cache.

Please provide a pic of a sample cart that demonstrates the problem.  That goes for everyone. Please, you can help us with example carts.

I have re-logged and hard refreshed, as well as tried in two browsers. Victoria is the only one I'm seeing discounted.

Looks like the girl 7 went to 26,45 when I took the screenshot, so it’s probably be worked on then:)

Ok, I've been asked to ask:

are a general or PC member and what level of Holiday Rewards Sale discount do you have?

K, guys, so here's the thing:

During this sale, for us to help, we need to know what type of customer they are (General or platinum club) and a brief description of what the actual problem is.

So going forward, please make sure you give us this information when you have a problem. This is actually what we kinda keep asking you guys in general.

  • Do you want users to make tickets or keep putting issues in this thread?

  • You can put specific sale problems in the thread; if we're available and responding, we'll let you know if it's an issue better handled by ticket. How's that?

I’m a PC member and I am suppose to have a 30% loyalty discount

  • How's that?

    I like it, makes sense.

  • Ok, pruggi:

The loyalty discount is 2015-16 items, 2017 top sellers, previous bundles (the ones listed for 3 days), previous characters, g8 pro, g8 base, interactive licenses, and PA stores.

The 3 items in your cart not receiving a discount are Anneka, Genevieve, and Gianni. Those were to be in top sellers for 3 days. They started on Friday's sale, which means as of Monday (today) they don't get that discount and are not in that category.

All others are getting the correct discount, it looks like.

Please make sure you refresh (and possibly clear cache) to make sure you have the correct listing of items on that particular day.

I hope that answers your query.

I can understand that the top sellers list of 2017 still changes -- after all it is still 2017. But did you guys notice that new items keep popping up in the past best sellers list, too?

Ok, understood. Now they are not showing in the listings anymore - all morning I saw them there. Maybe it was caching, but I did try it on 3 different devices.

There may also be caching at Cloudflare or at your ISP, which would affect every browser.

@avxp - You are correct. This is one whopper of an addiction if I ever saw one. A happy, productive addiction for the most part. I have enough stuff to render for a thousand years, but I love checking every day to see what's new. It's fun seeing what DAZ and the PAs come up with. The creativity I see in the store and in the galleries is very inspirational. It's a harmless and fun addiction, but it can be expensive. Hence the bargain shopping. I think at some point some of us do want to branch out and create our own stuff to look more unique. Thankfully there are tools in the store and in the community to help us do that too. You're right though, there's never "enough" content, it's a bottomless pit. At least there's good company down here!

Yes, it is very nice to bargain hunt & shop without filling one's home closets, basement, attic, and garage with things that get in your way everytime you need to find something useful. And it's still cheaper then that too.

Wow, I've missed every glitch and today I don't even see a new freebie. Which is why I stopped buying. Even with the extra 30% discount, prices are not that great. I'm out of money anyway from buying real physical stuff during Black Friday including a Windows PC with an NVIDIA card, so now I can finally render in IRay without it taking 48 hours! So I can finally render all the big IRay scene stuff I already own, which I guess is good enough for me!

Some of the artists listed in the "Featured Artist Catalogs 40% OFF" category do not have the 40% off showing on most of their items, even if I put the items in the cart - it's the page you get to when clicking the "Holiday Rewards Sale, Let it Begin" banner.

    PC Member, Loyal of 30%.

Sample artists (I didn't go through all of them):

Strangefate - only 1 out of 3 in the category has 40%.

    Faveral - only 1.

    ThePhilosopher - only 2.

    Merlin Studios - only 2.

    Deviney - 0.

Yeah, kind of late to the party. Already got today's cart done. They'll have to wait.

  • OMG...My cart just jumped from $99.58 to $200.37!  This isn't fun.  It's becoming a chore to shop here.  Okay, it just went back down and then back up again.
