Diabetes sucks. I expect insulin isn't far off for me... Mom was borderline diabetic. Urgh.
Here's hoping good things happen sooner than later...!!!
Very nice! 49f here, back to mid-70s during the weekend.
Cozy inside is the most important thing. Freezing your yarbles off indoors is depressing and painful...
Thanks again! :)
Ah, Thursday. Cold outside but toasy in my cave, alas, I have to take trash out soon and not looking forward to that.
Cooking and meetings today, oh joy, and moving the last of my files off my work computer to my personal system so I can send the work system back to San Antonio. Everything work-relaated is now running via the Web since I'm just documenting and doing knowledge ttransfer until the 30th. I need to make sure OpenOffice can edit my timesheets.. I'll do that today.
I have two external drives, a USB 3 4TB archive and a 3TB eSATA online drive. The SSD in this Dell Precision laptop is only 500GB so a lot of things run off the eSATA, which is a damn fast drive. Neither external drive is anywhere near full.
Final visit to the prosthetic doc tomorrow afternoon to make sure the fake foot is 100 percent as it's got to last forever. Fun, not, more poking and prodding.
No real complaints today, at least not yet. :P
how do you pronounce nviatwas?
is it like scsi? skuzzy
envy-ah-t'wahz, syllable emphasis on the ah ?
Envy A'Twas
en-via twas, Envia Twas
en-via twas is the way I roll.
Also, that makes it sound a little like French.
I pronounce it "En-vit-was" with the first A being silent. :)
New complaint: writing documentation eight hours a day is boring as Hell. Suddenly I'm glad to be cooking and cleaning for breaks from writing...
I use the paid version of AVAST. It is a very good AV. I also run scans every week with Malwarebytes and superantispyware.
complaint - label printer missed the labels. out of bounds
The Labels Printing Disasster Complaint Thread
Sounds to me like lots of Fiddly Little Things(tm).
Sweet! Sounds like nice digs, good times. I've never flown first class, unless I win the Lotto I likely never will.. train is nice but sleepers are stupid expensive!!! If I go anywhere it'll be train or bus.. can't imagine flying with my prosthesis, I bet TSA would have a field day.
...the mind boggles...
Non-complaint: being a short-timer gets me out of certain meetings.
Meeting host: "We're here to discuss firmware issues and our new software development process."
Me: "Why am I here? I haven't worked with the firmware in six months."
Host: "We're also discussing our new development methodology."
Me: "My last day with the company is November 30."
Host: "Oh. Sorry, you can go."
I guess my boss hasn't told everyone I'm on my way out the door. Well, back to documenting about 34 modules and 6000 lines of code...
Yeah, I didn't set the heat on until late October. I was wearing a fleece sweater jacket most of the day, inside. But when it got down to 62 inside, that's when I decided enough is enough. 62 was on the thermostat...which is at eye level for me. Down where I sit at the desk it was probably in the upper 50s. My hands don't do well in the cold. Fingers get stiff and typing is uncomfortable...playing guitar is downright impossible, and it hurts.

@KK:
Most of the prosthesis is carbon fiber, but the footplate and the connections for the Velcro strap are embedded into the fiber sheath itself, which makes it super-strong as well as metal detector and x-ray bait. Taking it off just means they get to run off with it potentially, screw that.
I miss traveling... I get 3 more paychecks, 2 full and one four-day. I might see how far I can get on a bus with the few hundred buck 32 hours of pay produces. I sleep sitting up fine, so bus travel is "acceptable" although train is better. And since I won't be working, time stops being a showstopper issue.
It's something to dream about...
Cold fingers kill typing productivity for me. Brrrr, frozen fingies!
Reminds me, I need to buy a Winter hoodie...
We have 43f outside at the mo, with wind fron WNW at between 8 and 20mph (gusty wind) I have my thermostat for heating running at 54f and I am sitting here wearing a long sleeved tee shirt with a cotton camisole under it. My typing fingers do get stiff, but that is more just the Arthritus kicking in because I am having to do all the chores now. Himself used to do things like peeling veg and washing up which are the sort of thing which make my hands stiffen up.
Morning. Stuck in traffic complaint is bumper to bumper today, wondering why we call them free ways - taxi meter and electronic tolling seems anything but free. That is my complaint nao :)
Ugh, stay warm!
