...I come form Wisconsin originally. Yeah, they make a lot of different styled cheeses there due to the wide variety of immigants who settled in the area.

California is not to be slighted though, neither is Oregon.

Also just wanted to point out that "Swiss" is kind of a generic term today.

If you can afford it, cave aged Gruyere is one of the best.

...it's a joke about Wisconsin having up and decided that all types of cheese are Wisconsin cheese despite whatever place they originated. I'm from Wisconsin too. I'm not slighting anyone. I just like cheese.

...on a less aged and aromatic note, pretty much picked up what I needed out of this last sale.

Picked up the Old Chap and the Growing Up Morphs for G3M along with the the 1968 Camaro SS lookalike (1968 AM SuperSport Coupe) today as my last purchases.  Not too bad a month I must say.

I'm sorry but I believe you'll find that all cheese is retroactively endemic to Wisconsin.

Grumble, Grumble, stupid technology.  Had to change burnt out taillight bulb so decided to upgrade to LED, completely messed with the Electronic Stability Control until I switched back to incandescent.

    out of bound uvs?

    two common reasons for that

    (1) there are an unequal amount of UV co-ords and vertices in an object (vertex overlap?)  or

    (2) UV co-ordinates exceed -1 to 1

    :)

seems is only in the 'u' direction.

i dont understand why is better than shader tiling settings?

UV's are more precise, everything else being equal, with geometry of an irregular shape like a face for example, often tiling won't let you precisely place a pupil in an eye altho meh let's be honest most of those situations are more to do with underlying geometry issues. You can use tiling/shaders with UV's, you generally plug U and V in somewhere - at least that's what I do if I can  :)

there cases for doing it on purpose?

Scottish Gaelic is a different but related Celtic language (along with Welsh, Manx, Cornish & Breton).

The Angles & Saxons spoke Old English (a Germanic language. which would not be recognisable as modern English)

Scotland Ireland and Man  use Gaelic  (different versions) which are members of the Goidelic branch of the Celtic languages,.   Welsh Cornish and Breton are from the other branch of the Celtic languages, which is Brythonic.

If you really want to know more there is a nicely involved explanation in the Encyclopedia Britannica       Here

I've been pondering about why is it that the Kleinhan's Music Hall has such good acoustics and then it hit me.  Looking at the various photos and floor plans it's obvious.  Both the main theater and the smaller theater across the hall are essentially parabolas.  The stage is in the focal point, the walls and ceilings are smooth panels directing the sound from the focus outward like a transmitting antenna to the seats.  No windows, no ornate lights on the walls, no support columns, no box seats, no chandeliers, no seats behind the orchestra.  All the sound generated at the focus reaches each row of seats in the audience in parallel waves at basically the same time all across the row.  All the music generated at the focus is present at all places along the wavefront in the audience.  It's like being in a hologram.  Not ornately elegant but music is for the ears, not the eyes.

The rest of the interior, hallways, stairways, lounges is also in that 1930s style Art Deco type design like Buckminster Fuller autos & trains.  Graceful curves.  Elegantly simple and functional.

    ...very nice.

All symphony concerts in Portland take place at the Atlene Schitzer Hall which is more of a theatre with a proscenium stage (and is used for not only theatrical productions but amplified rock concerts as well) than a venue designed for classical concerts. For non amplified music/programmes the acoustics are good but not stellar as in some spots (particularly in the forward middle area of the floor)  musical tones can sound a bit muddied.

Fig 1. View of the seating arrangement.

Fig 2. View towards the stage (sadly the best image which shows the stage from further back is on Facebook which is a pain to link to)

On the subject of acoustics, Still amazed that Vienna's Musikverein is so renowned as it pretty much a rectangular box. It also has a flat instead of sloping main floor, large ornate chandeliers, no real reflective surface above the stage save for the bottom of the organ case, a high ceiling from font to back, and galleries along the upper sides with support columns shaped like statues.

I have to admit I have always enjoyed going to the Royal Albert Hall.    When they have the promenade Concerts I always liked the upstairs Promenade, which is the Balcony that you can see right at the top.  No seats,  but wonderful sounds.

I've watched several programs from the "Proms" on YouTube.  It looks like a wonderfully fun event.

...one of the acoustical benefits of Royal Albert is it's shape.

We have several halls like that here in the States, most notbly one in Independence MO which is a Mormon assembly hall.  It is more oval in shape and has a slightly domed ceiling. If you stand on the stage and speak quietly, even almost at a whisper, anyone in the hall can hear you clearly if there little other ambient sound.present.

woww forum is obituary today. crying

  • Have they ever figured out how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,854

...well there were four thousand potholes reported in Blackburn In 1967.  I would imagine the only way to get a proper total would have been to consolidate the images and measurements of all four thousand holes together in one group, then overlay the outline of Royal Albert over that and start counting.

I just watched Kingsman.  Let me phrase this in TOS compliant language, what a freaking weird movie!  If it was not for the fishy language it would be okay.  If I had a dollar in Daz store credit for every time they used the F word I would have a five hundred dollar voucher or more. Rather have the five hundred dollar Daz store credit than hear the f word about five hundred times in two hours.

My non complaint did not have to pay for movie but did get popcorn for three bucks. Emoji movie was better than kingsman in my opinion.

It is weird for me to go to so many movies in one weekend.  Now if I could remember that 90 minutes is an hour and a half.  141 minutes is over two hours.

The villain girl was disturbingly weird.  Now to see if I can watch trolls or some other sugar rush movie on Netflix or find some brain bleach.  Okay my ride should come back in fifteen minutes.

Why did I waste 141 minutes on that movie?
