Thanks! Very nice textures too.
Thought I'd show off The Condor's bridge. Ptrope's 23rd Century Bridge, displays retextured and Iray settings on em, Bridge 3 from Rendo, and MdBruffy's Lydia bridge console, again displays retextured with Iray settings applied.
The bridge set looks nice, though there is one little thing (well one big thing) that's bugging me. Your carpet doesn't look right, I would probably try doubling or trippling the number of tiles and see how that looks.

On a side note... Oh Iray, how you have made it so much easier to light and render complex sets.
I remember back in the day when 3delight ruled the world, and my old lighting rig for Ptrope's bridge could bring a smoking fast quad core CPU to it's knees!
I had something like 23 lights on the set if I remember correctly...
Now days with Iray, and emissive surfaces we can bring modern GPUs to their knees and end up with much more impressive results!

On a side note, I really need to get back to work on both of these projects...
I THINK that's the default carpet texture for Bridge 3... When I have a chance I'll check. If not I'll try what you suggest. Thanks though! Would really like to see the TMP bridge finished.
This project is not from TMP. Mine is based on the glimpse of the Enterprise A bridge that you get in the closing scene of Star Trek IV (so much better than the pile of junk that was used for Star Trek V)
As far as I can tell here is how the off screen time between ST IV and ST V went... Take new Enterprise A out for a spin, and nothing works right... Come home and go on leave, leaving Scotty to fix the whole ship. Someone on the engineering team decides that the whole bridge needs to be replaced (or at least given an extreme makeover) in what was it, a month ot two in between?
lol
I know it's the ST IV bridge. I meant that I'd like to see you do the TMP bridge, or finish the one you'd started that you have on Sharecg. It's a fact that the bridge module was in fact replaced between IV and V. That's the main reason the Enterprise A was on shore leave at the start of V according to Mr. Scotts Guide. And that would explain why nothing worked right, because they didn't get time to properly intergrate the bridge module to the ship due to the Nimbus III incident.
What alterations to the carpet material did you make after converting it to Iray? Remember that when you load something with Poser materials into D|S, it only takes the basic Poser 4 materials, tossing anything that's in the procedural part of the material; this includes the Displacement (which doesn't work the same way anyway in Iray) and the tiling settings (which have extra features in Iray).
The only things I did with Iray was to make illuminated displays, and I used the Iray leather shaders for the seats and backs on the chairs. I usually don't bother with anything else. So if it is the default carpet texture like I think, its not modified. But it could be a tiled texture, I simply don't remember, as I started working on this bridge a couple years ago and only recently redid the displays and leather, along with adding the Lydia console.
Regradless of what that book says, in Mr. Scott's opening scene in the movie he states clearly that half the doors didn't work and that the ship must've been put together by monkeys in his log entry regarding the the shakedown flight that started with Cpt Kirk saying "Let's see what she's got... And I was wrong it was only 3 weeks between movies.
Though the reality of the situation probably had more to do with the old set pieces getting redressed too many times and beat up beyond repair from it's run as TNG sets.
As horiible as that movie was, Kird did have one good line in it... "I miss my old chair." (and I agree with him completely)
I forgot about that! :p And I didn't know only three weeks was supposed to have passed between films. That doesn't quite work for me. I actually don't hate the film, yes its bad, but at least it's true to the spirit of classic Trek. I do wish Shatner had gotten to make the film he wanted to make though, as it would've likely been a much better film. But Paramount was a bunch of stingy jerks. I LOVE that line, too.
So I did a little work on the bridge set, placed the chairs and parented them to their respective stations. Then I went and played with a few of my recent acquisitions. Callie 6, and DG Iray Toon Styles.

I'm stuck on my laptop right now because I'm waiting on a new motherboard for my desktop right now, so I only cooked the render for about 300 itterations. That's why it's quite grainy.
I let a closeup cook for longer.
Did anybody else see the new series The Orville last night on Fox they stole err borrowed from everybody think Star trek Star Wars Andromeda etc
That looks fantastic. Love the lighting and tweaks you did to it.
That's pretty much the same expression I'd have walkign on to that bridge. Still an amazing job!
The Enterprise's problems in ST:5 don't really make much sense, no matter how you try to explain it.
Thanks Much! Haven't heard from you on DA for some time!
Unfortunately, no. I completely forgot about it. I saw the reviews trashed it as well. Is Fox going to run the other episodes or just kill it now?
Don't know I recorded it and I'll wait to see if it improves or not but I'm thinking that it won't
I've seen many very positive reviews on YT about it. I suspect the media are trashing it cos it's gonna compete with Discovery, and because Secth has went on record being against Discovery. The positive reviews keep saying the same thing - it's a sci fi adventure show with alot of humor, and VERY much in the spirit of classic Trek.
Saw "The Orville" - I have to agree with most of the negative reviews. It's TOO mujch in the spirit of Trek, for my taste - even to the point that the score sounds like they just took cues from Jerry Goldssmith's TMP score and drop them randomly on the scenes - it sounds JUST like Trek but the music never supports the visuals.
As for humor, it's not really funny. It has several "potty jokes," including an ACTUAL potty joke that lasts about 30 seconds too long, but actual humor is hard to find, and most of it was in the trailers, so it's old news now. I'll watch the next one, but it really needs to stop trying to be either an homage or a parody of Trek pretty quickly, or it's going to implode; they really needed to try to do something unique with the opportunity.
I also saw "The Orville"... and I loved it!
Was it very much like The Next Generation's first episode? You bet'cha, but it got better and I suspect that The Orville will as well.
It's not intended to be a strictly scifi show or a true comedy, but somewhere in between, which I suspect accounts for a number of the negative reviews as this makes it hard to define.
Will I continue to watch it? Absolutely.
Will I watch Discover? Not a chance.
I watched The Orville too, and I can't say that I was too impressed by the eppisode... Having said that I will continue watching because there is a lot of potential there.
Regarding Star Trek Discovery... I will give it a fair chance, and make sure to not read any reviews before watching.
+10!!
I also watched "The Orville" and also liked it a lot. There is one thing you have to remember, Seth McFarland is involved so it will be somewhat irreverent and is kind of a spoof of every Sci-Fi space series ever made. I like it but I also like Seth McFarlands irreverent humor. The actuall potty joke was supposed to last too long. Just look at Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show. Don't know if it will make it in this day of instant gratification. It was somewhat corney though. BUT look on the brighht side. Maybe we can get a PA to make some new uniforms based on the Orville uniforms.

Not wanting to take this thread too off topic but Star Trek homages and spoofs must be the in thing just now because the next series of the anthology show 'Black Mirror' on Netflix will also have a Trek inspired episode. It's going to be an episode called 'USS Callister' but there will be a very dark twist involved somehow since that's what 'Black Mirror' is all about. Not much info of what the actual story is about but there are some very brief clips in the Season 4 trailer here at 0:23:
Another Drydock shot of Le Condor! :)
Here's a shot for the upcoming teaser page for the Flight Of The Condor fancomic...
And my Workstation is back in business with a new factory refurbished motherboard!

You're welcome! Yeah I've been involved with my new job. They actually realize I have skills and am useful and can fix things but that also means I'm in high demand and work a lot of extra hours when I need to so my modeling and art time has decreased rapidly coupled with us packing up the house to prep it to sell for a move on top of that. I did have some time recently though. ;)
Have to agree, the Orville was a blast. It's that burst of light-hearted fun I wanted in my sci-fi.
Although I will be watching Discovery along with Orville though. One will be a palette cleanse for the other I think LOL
Oh wow. Lots going on there! Looks great!
Yay! Always a good day when your main PC is back up and running!
