Morning. Gloomy grey overcast giving up a few spots of rain to a solitary daffodil blooming in our  garden a while after dawn, it sure is dry here this year :)

can see the gloom grey from here

can't see anything from here, has been like twilight all day. Sometimes it rains for a few seconds - hanging out for every millimeter looks like we get a few overnight from the precipitation forecast

wonder woman and capn america never crossed paths, they from same time frame?

I think they might have at one time.  Didn't they have a merger of sorts back a while, with the Infiite Universes or something like that?  It was around the time Superman died and then came back, I think.  I don't remember a lot about it, though.

    Dana

Superman died ????? Well I guess that's cutting a long story short!

Well, it was quite a while back, now...I forget exactly, but I want to say early 90s.  Of course, he came back.

    Dana

Think the last Superman comic (or any comic really) I read was in the early 80s. (basically when I left uni) I'm probably a little out of touch!

Sunny today, for what seems like the first time this month. Bet it doesn't last!

In England, the way you tell it's Summer is that the rain is warmer . . .

Doomsday killed him. It was on the front page of the Daily Planet and everything.

Complaint (perhaps): I'm all prepared for a ROAD TRIP to Columbia, South Carolina for the Eclipse happening on Monday.  Credit card all fattened up; car clean, gassed up, air-conditioned & roadworthy; dashcam installed, Garmin navigator installed; motel reservations secured; clothes packed; cameras, binoculars, viewing box & tripods ready; cash in pocket; CDs all selected.  Yea! smiley But weather is iffy! Boo! sad  Possible thunderstorms at the time of the eclipse.   Estimated total cost for the trip (gas, meals, two decent motels, tolls) is $400.  Do I want to drive 725 miles to sit in a thunderstorm while the event of my life is just on the other side of the clouds. crying  It would be worse than driving to Pittsburgh to go to the symphony and getting stuck in traffic. frown  I have to decide by Friday night in order to cancel my motel reservations.

Non-complaint:  Weather seems to be cooperating for my symphony visit to Chautauqua tonight.

You could also try http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=electrolytic+capacitor or http://www.newark.com/c/passive-components/capacitors/aluminium-electrolytic-capacitors/leaded-aluminium-electrolytic-capacitors .

Also make sure you are familiar with high voltage electrical hazards of capacitors (if applicable) if you haven't worked with them before.  You do not want to release the ultra ferrets.

Ultra ferrets have a nasty bite. At least theirs aren't septic like moonbats.

...Carrara and Hexagon need to be updated. Daz Studio has seen several updates while none for the other two (especially Hexagon that hasn't  been updated for what feels like eons).

...OK one more reason to buy and old school car If I ever start driving again.   Tonight while riding home from my gaming session with a friend, we were flagged down buy a fellow who needed a jump. OK, simple yes, hook the cables to both batteries give the motor a few revs so the other bloke could start his car and we're all good right?  Well not so fast.  Apparently the company that built my friend's car (a post 2000 Buick Skylark) decided to do an odd configuration.  Instead of the battery being under the bonnet on the right side where it normally should be, it turns out it is under the left rear passenger seat. No way jumper cables are long enough to reach from there to another vehicle.

The worst part is if the battery ever explodes, the back seat passenger ends up on a real "hot seat".  I can't believe someone was actually paid to design such rubbish.

I feel that's probably because D|S is more important to them,  and I guess most people who need to do modeling moved on to other programs. I imagine more people are into using content than making content, and so D|S is the more popular choice and so more "logical" to spend resources developing.

Which is a shame since I always liked Carrara better, and I figure it's only a matter of time before they just decide to merge the program into D|S, and to be honest I'm a little surprised they haven't already.

On another note,  BodyPaint for  Cinema4D similarly hasn't received any love in............ I think, actually since release 11 or something. 12?  I don't know, but they're at 19 already and it's become fairly clear that the Thinking Particles and BodyPaint portions of the program aren't what they're pouring resources into.  X-Particles plugin solves the former issue, but anyone looking to do serious work in character painting and the like seem to be going for MARI and such rather than doing it in C4D. The tools are really outdated at this point.

Ditto.  Rober A. Heinlein was my favorite SF author back in the dark ages when I was a naive impressionable young teen.  Perhaps then I would have enjoyed the gung-ho atmosphere of the SST movie(s) but now I just view them as yet another love story with teens sacrificed for the good of mankind movie.  (*bleah*)

That's typical of many Buicks, including my own 2003 LeSabre.  All you need to do is attach the ground (black) wire to the car's chassis somewhere under the hood, and then attach the hot (red) wire to a hot spot on the alternator (probably a red connector or red protective cover), again under the hood, which is a direct line to the '+' terminal of the battery.  No need to pull the rear seat out.  In fact, on my car it's even labeled, if you scrape off the dirt.  Google is your friend.
