LOL,
Nice work Robert!
New image. First time playing with the vascularity product from ZEVO. Does it's job well, not sure how much I like the results though. they were toned down to 60% for this image.
Nice work
I haven't played with it yet but looks like a littl goes a long way
I wanted to try a rembrandt style image here.
"Spring"
If you dont have them, get some exelent textures from Yughues aka Nobiax at:

Nice Mike Ben that looks lika real pic just mo of my thing
Time for Anime Boy!
All this talk of fake HRDI's I decided to give the plain ol enviro BG a try this is also going to be useful..
...I prefer environment settings as they can be modified to suit the scene whereas with an HDRI you have just one set backdrop image. Yeah more of a resoruce drain during rendering but a lot more flexible.
One thing I notice with HDRIs is if the "ground" surface in the photo is something that is slightly rough or uneven (like say grass, a beach, stone walkway/street, gravel, or wooden deck) shadows of mesh objects on the shadow catcher plane appear flat as if everything is on a smooth hard surface. I particularly find it noticable if there is any slope to the ground in the photo.ad the shadow angle will be slightly "off" from the shadows in the backdrop unless the shaodw catcher plane is set at the same angle.
Here I faked an HRDI from HRDI labs I could not get the lighting to match as per Phil's youtube vid. I added a Magix 101 LED light from above to match the lighting on the character the second is the original textures on the DAZ panther looked really bad so I used an iray fabric texture gives it a teddy bear toy look or timmy style odd shader..Second is a purchased HRDI BG
In any case it's nice to play with different options..
No matter what HDRI I've tried as background it has always been a bit blurred which often looks off if the 3D objects are sharp. I prefer plain background images instead they don't get blurred.
Looks good, character blends nicely.
Here I used an HDR for lightning and background.
Opens up alot more possibilities which is very cool.
Well if you want a blurred background it can be an advantage with HDRI of course. Nice portrait, reminds me of Lenin.
Thats a rustic looking dude good detail. More fun with enviro BG
..egads, in that second pic it would be like she was hit with a howitzer shell.
Shhh ...
I wont tell if you wont LOL! Had GP appointement snuck some pics with my new note 5 while waiting. ( I know note 5's are a bit older but scored a new one on sale to replace the crappy Huawei I had) in second pic I added a plane with emitter to match lighting from the top back again decent results using enviro pane.
Nice one! Great anime look.

:)
Current work in progress. Waiting on a fix for the seam visibility issue with the Lydia HD texture maps (already submitted).
...nice SSS on the ears.
Old Clothes, Old figure, new shaders, voila.
Looks really good
Its amazing I discovered this during the Lux days prior to iray how PBR engines can breathe new life into old content.
Just a render using a free HDR and spot light render time 2 to 3 minutes
..sweet.
