RRRR Contest - Lots of prizes!

Ladies and Gentlemen!

I know you have all waited for this, agonized and sleepless from withdrawal symptoms, but fear not more, the next RRRR is ready to rock!
This round is themeless, now your imagination can run wild!

For all who have no clue what the RRRR is, it stands for “Random Runtime Roulette Renders”.
It’s a competition organized by some members of the B.W.C (Bald Wizards Club)

Who can play?

Anyone can play!

How do you prepare yourself for play?

The rules are very simple, but first you need to have all your items in some kind of order in a text file, dumped from the itemized history into a text file or a spread sheet. Remove things like software, gift certs, and special plugins from the list.
Then you use a randomizer to randomly pick 4 items from your list (your Runtime). You can use items from any store.

Randomizer that works well: http://www.random.org/

There are some situations where you allowed to redraw, these are:

- You picked something that doesn’t work, broken thing, only works in a version / software not used etc etc.

- You picked a software or add-on to a software or anything you should have filtered out from the list.

- You picked only huge environment props and will not be able to render a scene without crashing.

- You picked an item you already have been using in two RRRR renders in this content and that was picked randomly. Three is a curse - rule!

Bundles

If you pull a bundle, use two three complete items from it, or more if you like, but you do not need to use all, but only picking a hairpin from V4 Complete Bundle is “too little”. Clarification: A bundle still counts as only one pulled item.

The rules of madness!

Now you have successfully picked 4 items, make a scene, you can add other items as well but the one you picked should be prominent or cleverly used. Render it, post it and make us all laugh! Remember though that the renders must follow the TOS of the forum.

The contest categories!

There are two categories, Funniest and Best, you get it. A fun render might maybe not be a super great render but will cause the viewer to fall of the chair laughing.

Contest duration!

It stats now, and will go on until Sunday February 24 23:59:59 DAZ local time.

Yes, we have prizes, thanks to our sponsors!
This months sponsors so far:

ART Collaborations has put in $10 in DAZ GCs to the winner in each category, plus one item of choice from their catalogue here at DAZ, to all winners (1st to 3rd place in each category).

Jaderail has put in $40 in DAZ GCs, way to go mate, we know you love this contest!

barbult has put in $30 in DAZ GCs this month.
emsim has put in $20 in DAZ GCs this month.
Kaputcha has put in $10 in DAZ GCs this month.

I myself will add an item of choice from my store for the winners (1st-3rd) in each category (which I cannot say where it is to avoid making this a commercial thread), but winners will be noticed by PMs when the time comes.

I hope we can attract some more sponsors.
Sponsors may of course participate in the contest, their own decision. As Ken O Bannion so elegantly put it, sponsors play for keeps.
If you want to sponsor this RRRR, send me a PM or post in the thread!

More to know?

I will might edit this when new info on sponsors arrive.

Maximum number of entries?

Yes, this time we limit the number of entries per person to seven, seven the number should be.

Are you ready to render in 3….2….1…..go!

Entries!
Post your entries here together with your pull and your comments, and feel free to comment on other peoples work as well.
We post images in the Entries only thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/15307/ with tag and name.

Of course I'm always up for an RRRR! Game On!

    And my first pull:

    602 - Forgotten Dynasties
    548 - Fairytale Collection - Fairytale Story
    1679 _ V4 Shoe Pack 2
    916 - M4 Tuxedo

    Hmm, half easy-to-the-point-of-obvious, and half....

In the immortal words of Deep Thought: "Hmm, tricky."

    Pull #1

    #989 Carnival Entrance
    #6 3D Celebrity 'Genesis'
#540 Shadow Dancer for Michael 3
    // Removed #1328 Duster M3/V3 Combo Pack
    #2448 Sci-Fi Truck - Heavy Duty (Rendo)

Not bad at all, except only M3/V3 stuff

    Edit:
#1328 Duster M3/V3 Combo Pack (Rendo) only works in Poser clothing room, redraw.
Baah, that changed my whole plan, a lot!

    RRRR is back!!!!! Oh yeah!!!!

    My first pull:
    Disconsolation Poses
    NeverGreen
    Carnival Picnic Tables
    D.I.Y. Daz Studio Lights

OK, I don't know about the lights. Totte, Do we include light sets as an item? (I have a bunch in my runtime.)

Anyway, I pulled another item as well, so there would be four visible ones:
    Michael 3 Base

    Hmmm, could be fun. :)

Luci, I haven't made up my mind on lightsets, probably the same as for shaders, they do count unless they can't be used as if you pull two lightsets.

    Totte and Luci:

The only downside of making light-sets legitimate - and binding - 'pulls' (and actually, I can think of two) is that including light-sets would pretty much dictate the application one uses to build the final image. I am not ashamed to say that, for the most part, I prefer to use Poser over DAZ Studio, and the overwhelming majority of the light-sets in my inventory are designed specifically for DS; hence, an inherent constraint (i.e., the items in the draw basically dictate the choice of application I must use -- the Libertarian in me positively bridles at that! :wow: ) (Pulling a Genesis-specific item can also fall into that category, but at least in that case, DSON offers an out; you can choose, or not, to take that out.)

My second concern is more artistic, in that the light-set drawn would more than likely be totally inappropriate for the the effect the artist is trying to achieve. We all know that lighting can make or break a render, and to have that choice arbitrarily imposed on us.... Well, there's that Libertarian impulse again: "Nobody, not even random.org, is gonna tell me how to light my scene!"

So, FWIW and IMHO (and I really deserve to be flogged for that!), light-sets should get a 'special dispensation': if you want to include them as a 'random' item, then feel free; otherwise, toss it out and draw another (more than likely worse - that, at least, has been my experience) item.

Like I said, 'For What It's Worth'....

    618 = Cheirocrates

This could be fun! I made a list, deleted everything that's not a product, isn't downloaded or doesn't work...and...the list was smaller than I thought it would be O_o Here we go....

    51: Spice Hair
    6: Cuffed Tail
    32: Otherwordly Wonders: Equinox
    29: Millennium Cat

Looks like the cat's getting a ponytail....

And seven entries? I'm assuming with seven different generated lists? :p There's only so much I can do with a cat and a hairdo :P

Edit: List number two with some products added that I need to download. This one is more interesting...

    116: Rons Waves
    40: Eagle
    58: Gossamer for H4....
    125: Shayarin for V4.

Ken, if you use Poser and pulls a DAZ lightset or visa verse, it will be voided by the "doesn't work" paragraoh anyways.

The thing is, Totte, I also have - and frequently use - DAZ Studio, so that wouldn't be a disqualifier for me. It would just require me to use one application or the other. (A bit of an annoyance, but not a deal-breaker.)

And sometimes I even use both - as in the render that I'm just about to post...! :-)

Oh, lord, Totte, that's just too funny! (But judging by the guy's reaction, she must have been a pretty marrow-freezing sight!)

    My nexr pull (Round 2):
377 - School's In for Luke and Laura
    353 - Buck Poses
    801 - V4 Mermaid Poses
    442 - Brad Pajama Textures

Well, it looks like that 'Welcome to my Nightmare' phase I've been in lately just might be coming to an end. Or it may just be spiraling off into a whole new spectrum of creepy! (School kids, mermaids, and a guy in his pajamas - oh, yeah, this is going to end well!)

Back so soon, and already off to a great start! Totte, you can put me in for another $10 gift certificate towards the prize pool. Never got a chance to play in the last one, but I should have more time this month. So, here goes...

    And...Pull 1!
    150. Magik Poseable & Conforming FX Figures
    526. Goth Jewelry for V4 (RDNA)
    186. Old Fashioned Bicycles
    103. Frostbite

Once again, not as bad as I had feared. Fortunately, I save every figure/clothing combination I create, so I already had everybody 'in stock' and appropriately attired. It was just a matter of setting up a scene. And after a couple of Martinis, it came to me!

    Also Used:
    Madelia Hair (Laura)
    Jepes' Jonah for M4
    Morning Hair (Michael)
    Anders Hair (Luke)
    Sea Nymph Hair (Victoria)
Dream Home (Rather a lot of it, actually!)
Flipmode's Easy Environments - Greenlands (Skybox only)
Photo Mug - ShareCG Freebie by hikesouth (Diane C. Davis)
9/11 Commemorative texture for Photo Mug by Web Wizard (also a ShareCG freebie)

Title: Oh. So It's Going To Be One Of Those Mornings, Is It?

    TAG: obanion#02

Michael: "Holy...! Is that a...? Where did she...? Why is she...? What the...!?"
Luke: "Really cool, huh? We found her on the beach last night, and brought her home."
Laura: "Can we take her to school for Show-and-Tell?"
Michael: "Um..., uh..., err.... I don't think so!"
    Laura: "Um..., Dad...?"

UPDATE: The instant I posted this image, I realized that I had totally spaced on one essential element of the RRRR requirements, to wit: I forgot to include the Buck Poses. So I added the buck, with its requisite pose (slightly modified). The second image is the corrected one, and that's the one that will go into the Entries Only thread. If that is not acceptable, then this entire submission must be disqualified.

Just looking through the early entries:

Ken OBanion "You are cordially invited.." - you're off to a great start already. I like the colours and the lighting here. How do you transfer your composed scene from Poser to DS - pz3? I don't use Poser, so not sure how you'd do that (nor why? :) )

and "... One Of Those Mornings..." - and there was I playing "spot the buck!" - but seriously that's a nice idea for a weird mixture - and I like the water, is it out-of-the-box or roll-your-own?

Totte "The circus audition" - lol! And she seems to have terrified the boss!

sedor "Anime Soldier" - nice render, and what a perfect toning sky.

And thanks for the comment, emsim.
