you can't please everyone.  and you aren't obligated to.

some people try to use emotional blackmail to control you, or guilt you, diss 'em with the hand.  talk to the hand

To be honest I do not know what they want from me.  I try but it is not good enough.  I try harder but they are still not happy.  I am afraid nothing I can do will help.

Sorry I had a bad day yesterday. I let my anxiety get the best of me.

That can happen sometimes.  Keep your pecker up and keep trying to be positive.

On this side of the pond that phrase is confusing but I think over there it could mean keep your chin up.

I didn't want to be the one to mention this, but yes, unfortunate word choice for this side of the pond.   laugh

Why is it that death of a loved one seems so hard to deal with?

It is the worst thing in the world to deal with. And some are worse than others.  I am still trying to get to grips with losing Himself,  my other half, and I lost him over 10 months ago.

They will tell you that time heals.  It doesn't really but it does soften the corners, so to speak.   I send you an old Irish Prayer that someone sent to me

When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence... a quiet sadness... A longing for one more day... one more word... one more touch... We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see you again someday, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye.

Still missing my Mom and Dad. We never "get over it". We only go on and hold our dearest memories tightly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It's a part of you.  It would be worrisome if it wasn't hard to deal with it.

Just what I want to find in the morning as I'm dressing.  A small preditor with vicious claws in my pants. frown

or "Hello.  Is that a ferret in your pants or are you amazingly agile?"

I'm new to this thread. Can I complain too? I just finished watching the kdrama Goblin and I keep crying and crying and I never cry like this and ugh I don't like it.

Welcome to the "N"th incarnation of the unofficial complaint thread.  Where life's miseries are combatted with wisdom, humor, wonderment or simple silliness.  This thread helps keep the more serious threads from exploding.

And I have absolutely no idea what the "kdrama Goblin" is. surprise  But suspect that something terrible happened to it. crying

  • My husband is heading up to Yellowknife, NWT, tonight for a short business trip.  Weather forecast for today is "windchill feels like -46".  Hopefully he packed his long underwear to go under his suit.

By the time it gets to the minus 40s, the two sort of almost agree Frank

Celsius.  According to Google, that converts to -50F.  Maybe I should have packed him my electric blanket, too. lol
