An Iray render of a work in progress blender model....still needs some texturing work.

That is a very nice model.  It lights really well too.

  • I'm finally getting some rendering done again.  It's been a very busy time.  Here are two recent Iray renders.

6 Pweeks done for Llola's Render a Month thread.

  • I really do like this one of Parker, KM- well done!

  • Thanks, kyotokid and Mattymanx!

  • Rendered quicker than I expected.

    Once more with feeling

I decided to give in to my nostalgia and do one Iray render of Sylfie as my year end image. Someone commented the other day in the  forum about an iray conversion for Sylfie's skin and I thought I'd give it a go. In all honesty, I found the easiest thing to do was to just use the settings from your favorite G2F or G3F character. While her skin auto converts well, it will still look better if you do it manually. You will need to create additional maps if you want it to be exact but they are just additional grey scale maps of various shades. I did not bother in this case as it was only a spec map that was missing and I am using soft lighitng anyways.

I had intended her to be wearing more with a dynamic outfit but it did not want to collide with her and the sheets at the same time so I settled with her own clothes. I have to admit, as much as I enjoyed rendering her a lot in the past, compared to G2F and G3F, I do NOT miss using Aiko3 at all.

....nice.  If you used a bit of a vignette effect (not sure if that can be done in Iray) it would look even more like an old photo.

That was one of the things I liked about LuxRender as it actually had tonemapping settings that mimicked different film types.

Iray has vignette, but I had it set too low to make enough difference with the Ron's background. But there is a darkening at the corners. Thanks. smiley

Recent thing about aging morphs got me experimenting. The base model is default G2F plus mostly Aging morphs, skin is Bellatrix run through NGS Anagenessis

(I should probably have done the eyebrow erase thing, but I was nervous it wouldn't play well with a very heterogeneous skin texture)

It looks excellent excellent the bit around her nose looks like a exceeding bad case of psioriasis (spelling?)

    It's gloriously oogy and imperfect.

I revel in imperfection... perfectly smooth/unblemished is too easy. ;)

G2M with Hiro at about .46 to get a nice anime-ish base. Skin maps removed and replaced with even color.

    Rawart birthday inspired render!

The cosmetics on the elebeast is something I picked up with birthday sale (Elebeast Expansion, which comes with some poses I might find of general use), everything else I've owned for a while.

Nothing hugely special, testing lighting, cloth fitting, etc.

After rendering lots of weird stuff, wanted to try to capture a real life.
