Lots of "ough" sounds. Ooh, there's a whole slew of them. It's a messy slough.
Slough? Not the UK's most attractive town...
Slough by John Betjeman
Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now,
There isn't grass to graze a cow.
Swarm over, Death!
Come, bombs and blow to smithereens
Those air -conditioned, bright canteens,
Tinned fruit, tinned meat, tinned milk, tinned beans,
Tinned minds, tinned breath.
Mess up the mess they call a town-
A house for ninety-seven down
And once a week a half a crown
For twenty years.
And get that man with double chin
Who'll always cheat and always win,
Who washes his repulsive skin
In women's tears:
And smash his desk of polished oak
And smash his hands so used to stroke
And stop his boring dirty joke
And make him yell.
But spare the bald young clerks who add
The profits of the stinking cad;
It's not their fault that they are mad,
They've tasted Hell.
It's not their fault they do not know
The birdsong from the radio,
It's not their fault they often go
To Maidenhead
And talk of sport and makes of cars
In various bogus-Tudor bars
And daren't look up and see the stars
But belch instead.
In labour-saving homes, with care
Their wives frizz out peroxide hair
And dry it in synthetic air
And paint their nails.
Come, friendly bombs and fall on Slough
To get it ready for the plough.
The cabbages are coming now;
The earth exhales.
I hate organizing my runtime. I am trying to do it this winter, but it gets frustrating.
basils are kinda kinky lol
Slough? thaz where my mars bars were made. when i had mars bars, made all gone
how did they make ice cream cakes before machines?
mash a tatoes for dindin
letting my tummy digest half hour, then ... butter pecan (puh con) ice cream
there something peculiar bout the way sidhe pronounced.
sorting runtime the thing to do while the irays are irradiating
ise still buggin-out the bangles were real musicians
If your runtime gets trashed...those zip files would come in handy.

Sounds very healthful.

..really ugly weather coming up tomorrow, Starts with snow and turns to freezing rain by evening. Today was very winy and cold. Went ot the market to load up on supplies so I could just stay in. Had my hat blown off on the way by gusty winds. By the time I left the store the wind had become even worse with gusts of 30 - 40 mph and temperatures in the upper 20s to just around freezing. Normally the walk home laden down with groceries takes about 20 min, but it was so brutal out, I decided to take the bus home (which required a connection).
The first bus came shortly after I left the market and checking the system's route tracker on my phone after I got off it showed my connecting bus was only 6 minutes away. I thought "not a bad connection especially on such a foul night". Well...that was until six minutes, then ten minutes went by and when I checked the tracker again it still indicated the bus was arriving in 6 min. From there it only got worse as the arrival time backed up to 7...then 9...then 12...then 15 minutes. It got to the point the bus afterwards (which originally wasn't to arrive until over 25 min later) would actually be arriving sooner than the one I was supposed to be on. As the time on the tracking app for that second bus approached to "0" I felt finally but looking down teh street, it was nowhere in sight. For another ten or so minutes I waited until finally it arrived. All in all, I stood at that stop in the cold for 35 min, more time than it would have taken me to just walk home from the market. Some days....well, you know.
Almost thinking of writing them to ask for a refund of my fare. Still chilled to the bone a couple hours after getting home and that was even with several layers on.
Slough is about 40 minutes from here, as the crow waddles. If you've seen the original version of The Office, that's set in Slough. The best part of it is the exit to the M4 . . .
Two complaints: First, lake effect snow is on the way by Saturday. Up to two feet in some parts of the county.
Second: My operated-on eyes were doing great until yesterday. Something broke loose and is floating around inside my right eye. It looks like a piece of transparent tissue with little black spots on it. It wanders across my vision. Not disabling but damn annoying especially in bright light like watching TV or using the computer. I don't know what they can do about it short of going inside again and vacuuming it out which is not something I want done again.
Luckily they've got me in for an appointment to examine it early this morning hopfully before the heavy snow starts this afternoon. I hibernate during periods of snow.
Update 9:10 AM: Snow has already started.
Another update 11:45 AM Eye doctor appointment went well. It could have been very serious but is, for now is a typical problem of ageing that is annoying but not in need of treatment. Short explanation is that springy supporting tissue (like a bungee cord) has come loose from interior of eyeball and is casting a coiled, wiggly shadow on the retina which is what I'm seeing. Not serious unless when it comes loose it tears or detaches the retina. Which it didn't do in my case. Yea!
Over time my brain will learn to ignore the shadow, and already I notice it much less than I did yesterday when it happened. Doctor said I did the right thing by coming in immediately to have it checked. If it was a torn or detached retina then serious immediate surgery would be needed.
complainnnnnt taxes - omg they took like half like 45% of my bonus to taxes.
there goes half my new cores
You're a very silly man . That's not even a proper nose. It's polystyrene.
Yes. Eye problems don't get better on their own. Good that you had it checked out.

i've never seen windows10. no idea what it looks like.
still traumatized by win8 interface squares. never detested an os so much in my life.
i remember os/2 warp, lol
...heavy amount of frozen water falling from the sky as I write with very gusty winds (up to 40 mph). In less than 20 min the, ground has turned white.
When I was young, the first snowfall or the winter was exciting, now that I am in by 60s with bad joints & bones, not so much anymore (though I will admit is is rather pretty). Hopefully it will stay cold all day so it doesn't change to that horrible freezing rain as I forgot to get something at the market last night (coconut milk for my curry) and need to go down the street to the natural food mart a bit later to get a can.
ragdoll munchkin kittehs? wid da lil legs?

...still on W7. Hated what I called the "Fisher Price™" UI of W8/W8.1 and don't care to give MS control of my system with W10.

You realize that you didn't have to look at, or use, those "squares", right? You could set it up to use desktop mode all the time.
