Just finished my entry and put it up in my gallery. It was fun! :)
Title: Plushies in the Glitchy VR Room
Gallery Link
What time on the 17th does the contest end? Sorry if I'm missing something...
My Entry:
Title: Queen of her Virtual World
Here is my entry:
AR Submersion
Submerge into an Augmented Dreamscape, where the surreal becomes real.
Oh, I like that
I'm not sure but in others contests it's always at 11:59:59 PM on the day of the contest although I've seen them allow late entries allowing for the later midnight in the Pacific and Alaska/Hawaii timezones.

I finally was able to finish mine:
Medbay Exam #VR
An example of augmented reality.
I rendered this out in several layers. An Iray base image, then duplicated the patient, moved her up a bit, applied the Muscle maps and rendered only the character. Then took that character, applied the wireframe and rendered that out in 3Delight. Same process for the skeleton/guts character. Put it all together in PS.
My first try I was a dope. I had two cameras, slightly different placements. Do not ask me why. So anyway some of the images matched, some did not. I wasted a few renders on that.
Oh, that is freakin' cool, Joe!
So many good renders! I just hope I have a chance LOL.
Very nice work, Joe!
OK, I had to call time on mine & my display driver was threatening to crash at only 3% rendered.
Guardians of the Heart #VR
Thank you Knittingmommy and Linwelly. It was a fun render, aside from the mix up. I am a big fan of the Wireframe and Hologram shaders, they are great to work with. There are actually two layers on each of the 3Delight renders - for example, on the "guts" I applied a hologram shader (rainbow one), but on top of that I created a geoshell and applied a wireframe shader to that. It gave a much richer look than one or the other alone, at least in this case.
That's for sure. A lot of imagination and skill on display here, as usual.
@Joe Webb Wow what an amazing render and the post wor is really great as well!!!
@luci45 Your 1st and 2nd enteries are so surreal just fantastic!!!
@Lyam I am so jealious of your wonderful render so life like and so not life like all at once!!!
@nonesuch00 I am so glad you didn't crash before you got finished this render I was hoping all would turn out for you!! It is a beautiful VR!!!
Edited To Add: @Knittingmommy You and your plushies giggles, but seriously the render Beared it all!!!
Thank you Saphirewild and noonesuch00. I had great fun doing this one. I hope it shows in the image.
I'm going to try to put up a second entry, but I know time is running out.
Cheers
Following looks pretty PBR to me, but you are right about the new Simplygon version, the in Unity cloud version was far better and more accurate, just started using the desktop SDK version, terrible
The big reason why that looked so good in Unity and incidentally runs at 60 fps even unreduced is because the artist bothered to included good textures with a normal and height map, what the artists on Daz should do is create Normal, Height and Metallic Maps as well as the Diffuse maps, this way PBR substance rendering shaders can use them and get this type of result, this was even without a Metallic map which would make it even better, so nothing to do with the FBX exporter as I can just copy the orignal files from the content directories of Daz doesn't have to be embedded in the FBX export.
Here is my entry. I uploaded to my gallery with #VR at the end of the title, so I hope that works. I do not use he gallery much so I don't know how all that tag stuff works.
"Training Session"
Well, it's showing up alongside the other entries, so I'd say it's fine.
Great pic btw :)
Well, the man said that "if its not over when you get there, you're not late", so here is a nearly last minute entry. I had to go looking for quite a few free items to complete the scene, and am continuously grateful to all those out there that never disappoint. (They are listed in the description in the gallery, and I can provide links if anyone is interested). Here's what it all looks like: Virtuoso
...I really like this. Nice interpretation of Augmented Realty. Looks like it could be an illustration from one of the game books.
Been involved with Shadowrun since 1st ed in 1989. Creating illustrations of characters and scenes from the game world is part of how I got involved in 3D as it was getting harder to draw and paint because of advancing arthritis and I wanted to illustrate a story that came out of a campaign as well as character and general scene pics from the SR world.
...love this one too.
...really nice works here. Tried to come up with something, but two weeks was a bit tight and didn't come up with an idea I felt would fit until it was pretty much too late to get a start and have the rendering finish in time..
Thank you.
Great entries all around.
