Morning. My first day off for two weeks Oscar Mike Golf and called to a meeting this afternoon #!** the life I chose I guess :) Haz been frigid here, coldest for well since the last time - been wearing every sweater I own aaaaand microfibre singlets made from new zealand merino to cit the wind chill a little. There are people sleeping rough in every dark corner of my hood right now, weather is taking a terrible toll & the free kitchens are melting down. I see what everyone has been jumping up and down about inner city gentrification now.  We're counting down until spring. And heh a film crew has been shooting in the next street and a hyperactive first AD haz been shouting in a megaphone while I tried to get some zzzz's, haven't those guys heard of motorola walkie talkies ? Those are my complainrs nao :)

Ya know what's a treat?... Cutting up a dozen really hot jalapeño peppers and then an hour later taking out your contact lenses and finding out the peppers were stronger than the soap you used to wash your hands after you cut them.  Really... This sucks...

....well celebrated Leela's -26th Birthday (in the story she is born on 2042). Had a good time (even the trivia team I was on took her name) until I got home and saw the headlines from the big gig in Philly.

Time to pack things up and make travel plans for Zagreb.

Finally watching Alegent after I purchased the digital copy several weeks ago.  I wanted to rewatch Divergent and Insurgent before watching Alegent but that never happened or at least had not happened yet.

Morning. Sun didn't really show itself at sunrise, just hid in the ghastly grey overcast that crept across the hood in the night so daybreak feels more like a shadowless moonlit midnight :)

My new keyboard came in today.  I am also waiting for another package to come in soon (hopefully before I go to bed).   Right now my start menu does not want to open so I might have to restart my computer somehow in order to play with DS until I get sleepy or nine pm or which ever comes first.

edit: now it wants to work after I complain.

Most owls I've seen in the wild have been small ones like the "Screech Owl" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screech_owl out here in the country in western NY State.

However, my greatest owl sighting was in the middle of the city of Melbourne, Florida.  I saw a "Great Horned Owl" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_horned_owl sitting on the top corner of the hospital.  At first I thought it was a decoy but when it swooped down on some frantic creature that theory went poof.  That was a big magnificent bird!!

Hang in there.  Only a couple months and you'll start to see better temperatures!

Possum are dangerous animals.  Don't ever bend down over one that's playing dead.  It's a trick!  They'll tear your belly open with their sharp claws.
