    would think they'd decide to stay at age in their prime.

    Yea, the thought of being immortal at the age of 95 is not appealing... frown

    I believe though that even humans are capable of controlling their aging to some extent. Some look old at 30, some look young at 70. I think it's a matter of mental attitude. There are also stories about people who have rejuvenated their bodies using yoga and other techniques.
