Complaint:  I've become too familiar with my new phone.frown  It's a "smart" phone.  My first.  I actually installed "Twitter" for the first time and started following "Technology" sources and was immediately innundated with piles of tweet crap.  Who has time to read all that crap?  I'm retired and I don't!  God forbid I should follow something stupid like a celebrity.  After a couple of hours of fighting it I managed to get rid of the messages and unconnect from all the sources and left myself with only the "Hubble Telescope" source which seems to be relatively civilized about the number of times it "tweets" in a week.  I can see why they call these things "smart phones"  It's because by comparison they're smarter than the addicted masses of people who use them.  And now I see this new fad of chasing virtual Pukee Monsters and wonder how soon before somebody walks off a cliff or into a treestump grinder.  We're being brainwashed, people. surprise Wake up!!!

Bah humbug... what was wrong with phone booths?

Right, with a uperstructure and an immediately available power source there was all sorts of mind-control stuff we could do with those. I mean potentially there was all sorts of mind control stuff that could have been done with those.

As far as I know, Superman, Maxwell Smart's agency "CONTROL", and the Harry Potter "Ministry of Magic" headquarters in London were the only ones to use phonebooths for non-standard purposes.

ker-plainnnnt, pains in my leg kept waking me up. starts right under my knee, goes down side of my leg to ankle, side of my foot then sorta zooms back up to my knee.

ker-plaint not to be confused with kerplunk

39 F?  For me, that's a mild winter day.  We get temps in the teens sometimes.  And it can even get below zero sometimes.  This past winter was mild, though.  And now we suffer the consequences.  Thousands and thousands of these moths.  frown  Ticks are supposedly a bigger problem, too, and mosquitoes.

Non-complaint: I just terminated my DISH-TV contract.  Yea!   I couldn't justify $100/month for the few channels I actually watch.  And most of those programs are repeats from the '70s, '80's & '90s.

BBC America, Science Channel and Discovery Channel were the only live channels I really wanted.  I called up to cancel and she tried her best to keep me as a customer but without BBC America (which was something she couldn't offer in a reduced package of any sort) I couldn't even justify her lowest offer of $68/month.  When she kept avoiding the actual disconnect I finally started getting irritated and told her so.  Then in 2 minutes it was done.  I'm free... no TV, no DVR recorded programs.  Just a two basic channels functional, and who knows for how long they'll be accesible.  I'm free, I'm free.  One more payment and I'm free at last. yes

Granted I won't have my BBCA or SCI channels but who knows, I might find access to some of their programming on the network.

Now, if I could just whittle down that $100/month fee for internet service.....

I thought I lost my android tablet yesterday.  I remember having it at the library so I called the library three different times.  They could not find it.  I called the company I got it from and told them that I lost my tablet.  They said it would be fifty dollars to replace it if I file a claim.  I have not done that as I was unsure about spending fifty dollars on it.   I went to work today and tried to get my mind off of it.  I got a cory and two platies after work and introduced them to their new friends when I got home.  I checked to make sure that the platies were both female and figured out one of them was not female.  I decided to call my mum.    When she answered she asked if I was the one missing a tablet.   She found it at her house upstairs.  I only looked downstairs for it yesterday when I visited her.  I am so thankful that I did not spend that fifty dollars.

..39°.  That's pretty much the standard winter temp here. Add an icy cold rain along with a brisk wind from the Columbia Gorge and it seems to freeze you down to the marrow no matter how many layers you are wearing.

Now  were that 39° C it would be hot, hot, hot and the only thing resembling winter would be the ice cubes in the tall drink in your hand.
